Comments and Log
Ian has joined the a walnut wooden table stained a red-brown.
Enering the great hall, anticipating the event to come, Alessia approaches the maruqessa with a warm smile. "Thnk you for hosting this delightful event, my lady." She says, giving the woman a warm smile, tightening the multicoloured sash around her waist.
Washarrives alone, poor man can't get a companion on his arm now that his wife is back in the isles. He doesn't look too put out though, lively eyes glance at the exhibit and find Ian and Aethan in the room. He levels two fingers at them, and points at his own eyes, then at them when he finds them in the crowd.
It's probably a measure of how fond Sebastian is of the members of House Igniseri that he dares brave the winter chill over the short distance across the Reflection Square. There's even actual snow on his winter coat, a thing that earns a grimace and a dusting of his hand as he passes into the Domus. Waving off any offer to take his coat, he settles for unbuttoning it, showing off the silk underneath, the material flaring around him as he strides in. Spotting the queue waiting to greet the Marquessa, he instead claims a glass of something dark-looking and regards the crowd, not showing too much interest in the displayed clothing despite it being the draw of the event.
2 Ashford Archer, Bethany, 1 Ashford Ranger, Faustus, the feisty, fluffy, three legged kitten arrive, following Olivia.
Zoey grins at Quenia. "I'd best go find him. Thank you for the opportunity." And then she's off, sinking into her seat beside Ian.
Ian snorts when he sees that Wash has his eyes on him, then huffs out a soft laugh. He's on the cheerful side (for Ian, anyway), and doesn't even look like he's been drinking. Not that it's easy to tell.
Olivia slips in and makes her way over to Lethe and sneaks up on her (or tires to) with a hug!
Aethan arrives, hands shoved deep into the pockets of his coat, though the spring thaw has started and things are a little bit less terrible outside. His expression is as flat as ever, and in fact perhaps even //more// so, though he watches Wash's look, leveling that gaze at the other man for a few seconds at the eye pointing before he turns to find his brother, and Zoey as well. "Zoey," he says as he sits down. There's a beat as he turns to his brother, and he studies him for several seconds before he says, "Ian." Ian.
Aethan has joined the a walnut wooden table stained a red-brown.
Zoey has joined the a walnut wooden table stained a red-brown.
Intrigue, a sleek, diminutive raven with blue-black plumage arrives, following Willow.
Acantha arrives alone, but dressed wonderfully. She's quiet as she enters, a dip of her head given to Quenia, "Marquessa." she greats her with a smile. The Baroness then moves off to find herself a seat.
Zoey beams at the sight of Wash. "Wash," she says with a laugh. "Come join us." She leans over to kiss Aethan's cheek, murmuring quietly as she does so.
Ian has the absolute WORST 'face of innocence' expression that anyone ever wore. Not that he can't hide his amusement when he wants to, but his flat, almost stony calm when he greets Aethan makes it pretty damned clear he's suppressing SOMETHING. Like a shit eating grin. "Aethan."
Alessia has joined the a walnut wooden table stained a red-brown.
Joining the familiar faces, Alessia settles into the wooden seat jovially. "Lord Ian, Lady Zoey. How long it's been." Her brows rise, shaking her head. "It's a pleasure to see you again."
Quenia is standing near the door to the Great Hall, taking any last minute ticket sales. "If you have not gotten your tickets yet, there's still time. About another 20 minutes before we begin. Tickets are 1 for 5 economic resources, and 5 for 20 economic resources. If you haven't taken the opportunity to look at the dresses, please look in the Lycene Night Sky Chained Bookcase." A pause, "All proceeds will be benefiting the agricultural center that House Igniseri is building in Granato. This is a large undertaking on our part, creating a center dedicated to the Gods of Creation: Lagoma, Petrichor, and Mangata, with a research facility also dedicated to Vellichor. We hope it will be the premier facility in the area, and your generosity will make that possible." She also takes a moment to greet each person as they arrive, whispering to some, grinning at others, and outright laughing at some things said to her. HEY? Kennex Boys? She's looking at YOU.
Lethe grins as she looks at Olivia once she sees who hugs her. "Cousin Olvia it is so nice to see you."
Merek makes his way into the place, his black attire on with his cape as well, adjusted about his frame. The golden-carmine seems to decorate all he wears, while he takes his time to find a place to settle in, relax, and get a drink.
Intrigue, a sleek, diminutive raven with blue-black plumage arrives, following Willow.
Aethan's eyes narrow //just// slightly at Ian's only very, very barely suppressed grin. His head tips to the side a fraction, though whatever Zoey murmurs to him elicits a snort of amusement. It's not quite a laugh, but it's very close. He leans back, looking over as Alessia sits down, and the nod he gives her is certainly polite, if not the warmest greeting. He may just not be particularly warm, generally.
Olivia shows off her new alchemy inspired belts to Lethe. "You likey? Now I am prepared for just about any situation. Lord Ian has never been in more danger I think." She turns and grins at Ian.
Ian nods to Alessia and motions to the table where the Kennexes have taken up residence, a wordless invitation.
Zoey "Lady Alessia!" Zoey seems delighted to see the Mazetti, giving her a warm and welcoming smile. "It's been too long. Are you well?"
Sebastian circles the floor with his wine glass in hand, though doesn't seem to drink. Only once Quenia's made her official announcement does the Pravus Lord front up in her path, blue eyes alight with warmth. "Marquessa. You look lovely as ever," he says, leaning to kiss her cheek. "I seem to be the only Setarcan here. I hope that means there's little competition?" with a lift of brows. Surely he's not suggesting any cheating -- nope.
Washpicks up a drink and then meanders in the direction of the other Kennexes. "Hello there."
Wash has joined the a walnut wooden table stained a red-brown.
Emily enters the Great Hall and already looks like she would rather be anywhere but in this place but here as she paces about. "Greetings," she say brightly
After buying five tickets, Willow drifts off Olivia's way, golden black silks fluttering. The sensual drape of dark and semitransparent silk with liberal duskstone and stygian accents sees her raise her brow at Sebastien's comment. "How many generations removed still counts?" she asks of him with a crooked smile.
Lethe looks at the belts with approval. "I like them. They are perfect for you." She smiles as she speaks to Olivia. "I'm glad I could make it to this event."
A messenger arrives, delivering a message to Alessia before departing.
Quenia chuckles faintly at Sebastian. "I'm afraid there's quite a lot. This morning there were only 9 people who were participating, now there's about 32. However, it does mean all of the dresses will be doled out this evening, so at least 10 people will be walking away with one of these lovely beauties." She motions to the Lycene Night Sky Chained Bookcase to where the dresses are safely housed for the moment where people can view them.
12 House Velenosa Guards, Ibasia, the Velenosa Lady-in-Waiting arrive, following Jaenelle.
A messenger arrives, delivering a message to Lethe before departing.
A messenger arrives, delivering a message to Lethe before departing.
Olivia turns and hugs willow too. "Cousins everywhere I turn!" She turns back to Lethe, "Been well? Torturing Arch for me?"
A messenger arrives, delivering a message to Lethe before departing.
A messenger arrives, delivering a message to Ian before departing.
"As well as could be." The glaivedancer grin, leaning back in her seat. "And yourself?" She glances between the couple, before beckoning retrieving a small skin of rum from a servant.
"I'm sure the Duchess Belladonna would welcome you back into the family if you wanted to become Pravus," comes Sebastian's response to Willow, with a lift of brow and a twitch of lips. "Lady Willow, wasn't it? I believe we met at a ball some time back." Quenia's confession on the number of participants only briefly dims the vibrant expression of the Pravus artist. "Well," he clucks his tongue. "I guess we have to see if we'll be lucky tonight." He half-bows to Quenia, and begins to head towards the bookcase she gestures towards, delayed by spotting Emily, altering his path to head towards her. "Lady Emily," he greets, with a visible warmth, leaning in as if to kiss her cheek. "Welcome back to Arx. It's good to see you." If he notices her discomfort, he certainly doesn't draw attention to it.
1 Grayson House Guards, Peaches, a lovely white war filly with a peach saddle, Deliverance, an albino falcon, Stormy, a silvery gray hunting hound, Rascal, a hyper terrier, Rosalie, a lady in waiting arrive, following Reese.
As Ian's settling in, someone taps him on the shoulder and hands him a small stack of raffle tickets. He gives them a puzzled look, and then looks to Zoey. "I think these are for you."
A messenger arrives, delivering a message to Willow before departing.
Reese arrives in the great hall while wearing a warm cloak over her outfit of pink and ivory. She peeks over the area, giving a smile that is framed by her dimples.
Zoey shakes her head calmly at Ian. "They're yours," she says with one of her trademark smiles. "I didn't want you to feel left out."
Zoey shakes her head calmly at Ian. "They're yours," she says with one of her trademark smiles. "I didn't want you to feel left out." Alessia gets a grin. "Doing well. Keeping busy as usual."
Ian opens his mouth, then closes it. "But..." Give him a moment, folks. Realization is slowly dawning. His gaze slides over to Aethan. "... Did you...?"
Zoey says, "All me."
Willow Laughing brightly at Sebastian as she gives Olivia a squeeze, Willpw nods lightly, before saying, "On the one hand..." of her affinity for her grandmother's house of origin. She nods and says, "We first met at your sister's wedding," she recalls.
A messenger arrives, delivering a message to Acantha before departing.
A little late, though here never the less, Jaenelle arrives with her attendants in tow. Not wishing to disturb the hostess, she wiggles her fingers in Quenia's direction before moving to take a peek at the gowns she has bid on without ever seeing.
"Emily is fine and it is nice to see you again," Emily says brightly before whispering something to him privately as she paces around
When Wash comes over to sit with them as well, Aethan looks over at him, with a slightly more narrow-eyed gaze now as well -- but he just says, "Wash. Thanks for entering me." Is he being sarcastic? Serious? Anything at all? Who knows! What he //does// do is turn his gaze on Ian then, and he shakes his head, gesturing toward Zoey. Then he smiles. He is not given to smug smiles, but this one looks it.
Reese peeks over to Olivia and Willow. "I would to get you each some tickets if you don't mind." She then tries to buy more tickets.
Washpeeks to see how many tickets Zoey has purchased for her husband. "I got a few for you too Ian. I think you'll look good in the Lycene styles. Turnabout is fair play."
Olivia hugs Reese and kisses her on the cheek, "You do as you like Princess! Good to see you."
Ian looks from Zoey to Wash. "... What?"
A messenger arrives, delivering a message to Lethe before departing.
Reese returns the hug from Olivia, seemingly happy to see her. She seems to be a cheerful mood. The girl takes a look at the dresses that are being auction. "Oh, I hope we all win one, they are so lovely. I'm hoping for the pink one the most, I will admit."
Jaenelle overhears the conversation around Ian, and can't help but pause with a grin, "Lady Zoey, I tried to get Lord Ian to purchase raffle tickets before but he stated you were far too particular for him to get you any garments. I think you and I should talk about your preferences for the future so I might be his sounding board on fashionable gifts you will enjoy."
Willow perks up as soon as she hears Reese, stepping over to pull her in a tight hug and kiss her cheek. "Me too! Long time no see, my favorite Princess General," she says, enthusiastic and dwarfed by most of the people around her so she has to crane her neck to see the dresses.
"Oh, well that explains it. As I recall I drunk quite a fair bit. And also got both groom and bride to agree to name their firstborn daughter after me. Did you hear Jules is with child?" Sebastian looks positively delighted as he informs Willow of this. He half turns to Emily, bending to listen to her, his fingers resting lightly on her arm for a moment as he hands her his untouched glass of red wine. "Do you know everyone? Emily, this is Lady Willow Nightgold. Lady Willow, Lady Emily Deepwood." He glances at Olivia, since she's chatting with Willow too, but he doesn't seem to recognize her.
Reese is drawn into the hug by Willow and she gives her a smile. "Too long." She gently says.
Zoey just smiles at Ian and leans over to press a soft kiss to his cheek, hand coming to the opposite cheek in a brief bit of PDA. "It's okay," she reassures with riotously sparkling eyes. She sits back up in time to see Jaenelle approach, causing her to chuckle. "I do tend to design my own clothing," she admits. "Mistress Thornburn's assistants are too good not to keep busy. I'd be delighted to speak with you, your Grace, at your liesure."
A messenger arrives, delivering a message to Willow before departing.
Lethe nods to Olivia. "I have been well, and I do try. I wouldn't be a good sister if I didn't."
Wash inclines his head. "That's admirable restraint on Ian's part." He asks Zoey. "Did you beat that into him, or did you have to stab him a couple of times before he understood you correctly?"
A messenger arrives, delivering a message to Olivia before departing.
Ian eyes Wash. He's starting to realize that the prank may have backfired. "I'm not -that- dense." Yes he is.
"It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance," is offered politely in greeting of Emily along with a warm smile. She gives Sebastien a crooked grin again and a wink when she says, "You're making me hope it's a daughter," she jokes, smile warm as she gives her distant cousin a hard time.
Zoey "I think he just noticed," Zoey admits to Wash. "I went through a phase where I had specific perfumes for specific outfits, so that might have been a big clue?" She shrugs. "I've minimalized dramatically since then, though."
Aethan just looks at those at his table as they speak with a shake of his head, leaning back as his gaze moves from one to the other. He has apparently accepted his fate -- the //stack// of tickets Ian has found in his possession has probably helped with that.
Aethan has left the a walnut wooden table stained a red-brown.
Quenia grins widely over at Ian. "I assure you, Lord Ian, those tickets were most definitely ear-markedf or you." She winks in his direction, and nods to Zoey, Aethan, and Wash. "I truly hope one of you wins, because that will pretty much make my night." She grins widely. Something /must/ be afoot. She spots Jaenelle arriving and wiggles fingers back, meanwhile she's taking a few more ticket sales from Willow, Acantha, and Reese. That seems to be it for ticket sales. She turns to observe the crowd that has arrived, and for a moment she seems somewhat overwhelmed. So many people came to support her cause! Or, maybe just buy the dresses, but whatever the case they are here. She takes a breath and says, "Thank you again for coming this evening. Wine will flow freely tonight, and there are some appetizers for your pleasure. Berries, cakes, cookies, tarts and the like. This is meant to be a light affair, while the raffle proceeds through the evening. A designer heard about what we were trying to accomplish in Granato and stepped forward with these gowns as a means to aid the project. Each one was painstakingly put together, and I do hope that whomever shall win will enjoy them greatly. And, with that said, I'm going to start by pulling the first ticket now."
"I think they mean well" Jaenelle says with amusement as she looks towards the men. "One year for my birthday Mydas purchased a diadem for me. It was beautiful. But that forced me to have other pieces made for it to be a set. Then I had to have matching clothing. It can be a delicate, detailed affair, and sometimes our husbands mean well but cause more work."
"It is a pleasure to meet you as well," Emily says as she takes a glass of red liquid in it from Sebastian and sipping it as she moves about
Ian might be playfully threatening Wash over at the Kennex-claimed table. Or alternately, he might just be threatening him. Probably the former. Probably.
"I was a little surprised to learn I had been entered in the raffle." Wash admits. "I didn't think of getting my wife a new dress. She's not expected back for months. I am glad for the excuse to go out." Wash gestures with his drink toward the hostess. "And for the opportunity to visit House Igniseri's gracious Countess."
Acantha gives a smile at the talk going on around her and there's a moment taken to look around. She gives a dip of her head in greeting to Ian and the other Kennex's that she's met, but she sees no Evander. That's a shame! She looks to Quenia as she talks and there's a smile as things get underway ticket wise.
Tyce the gruff and disapproving, Honore, the proudest and prettiest peacock ever, 2 Scarlet Phoenix Guard arrive, following Juliana.
"As do I," comes Sebastian's laughing agreement with Willow, "My niece, after all, will have an amazing namesake," even if the Pravosi does say so himself -- which he does, because he's Lycene and completely unfraid to. He pauses to listen to Quenia for a moment, before he seeks to claim one of those appetizers. "Try this," he tells Emily. "It tastes amazing," pointing to one of the tiny cakes.
Quenia has rolled 1 839-sided dice: 459
Lycene Night Sky Chained Bookcase is now unlocked.
Quenia gets A Salacity in Southport, a diaphanous semi-sheer apricot gown sunstruck by gilded rays from Lycene Night Sky Chained Bookcase.
"The first number rolled is 459 - which wins the A Salacity in Southport, a diaphanous semi-sheer apricot gown sunstruck by gilded rays" Quenia says, "And the person who has number 459 is Lady Sudara Pravus!"
Reese has joined the couches embroidered with an ivory rose.
Reese is watching the auction and she cheers when the first winner is announced.
Willow has joined the couches embroidered with an ivory rose.
There are certain things that mark the end of snow and the start of spring. The trees start to bud, the days start to stretch out longer and well... Lady Juliana leaves her rooms for the first time in months. Speaking of Sebastian's proclaimed niece, as Jules steps to the doorway in her yellow gown, there are certain obvious differences to the last time she was in public. A paleness to her complextion, a slight gauntness to her cheeks as well as a good deal more cleavage than Juliana was known for having. Added to the the slight bump that is getting harder to hide as she stops in the doorway, her blue eyes sweeping over those attending, nodding to ones that catch her eye.
"And Sudara was worried" Jaenelle says, tsking with some amusement as Sudara is announced as the winner of the first garment. "Juliana" she greets her cousin upon seeing her, "do I need to have my guards carry you around?" Though there is a teasing to her tone, there is concern in her eyes.
Olivia hip bumps Willow before she sits down and heads over to Sebastian. She extends her hand to him daintily. "Lady Olivia Ashford. I see you know my cousin Willow?" She smiles.
Olivia has joined the couches embroidered with an ivory rose.
Lethe has joined the couches embroidered with an ivory rose.
Sebastian's head snaps up as he hears Quenia mention Sudara's name. "Lady Sudara," he cheers aloud. "She'll be thrilled. And it'd be good to see her in something other than black," he adds, with a twitch of lips. "Lady Ashford," he greets Olivia with a smile. "Pleasure to meet you. Only in passing, I'm afraid." He's standing with Emily, chatting with her and Willow -- and seems to notice Juliana's arrival almost immediately, eyes flickering that way. His expression is nothing short of delighted. "Let's go rescue Jules," he tells Emily, guiding the Deepwood Lady over towards his twin.
Quenia gets A Tryst in Tor, a semi-sheer rose organza strapless gown laced by petals from Lycene Night Sky Chained Bookcase.
Quenia has rolled 1 839-sided dice: 503
Olivia grins a bit, "Worry not. I am the /far/ more interesting cousin." She says to Sebastian, before turning to wink at Willow.
Julliana's gaze flickers to Jaenelle, dark brow arching slightly before she wrinkles her nose and crosses towards her. "Jae, it's lovely to see you. And no.. the worst of it's passed I think and now that it's not spitting snow everywhere, things should be better." A kiss offered to Jaenelle's cheek but it's Bas' voice that will draw her attention, gaze flickering towards her brother.
Reese is curled-up on the rose blue couch. She watches as the auction continues, seemingly very interested in such. Emily and Sebastian are given a smile.
Quenia pulls out the next dress, A Tryst in Tor, a semi-sheer rose organza strapless gown laced by petals, and then puts her hand in the jar where the numbers are housed to pull out the next number. She grins over at Jaenelle as she takes the slip of paper in her hand and says, "Indeed, she did seem quite worried, but certainly felt it was worth the effort to spend resources on, for which I am glad." That said, she looks down at her slip, then consults her notes. "The next winner is number 503 - which belongs to Dianara Whisper. I certainly hope she enjoys her new garment." That's two people down, and eight more dresses to go! Her eyes touch upon Juliana and she waves to her cousin-in-law, but doesn't move to crowd her. It's a rare Jules sighting since the winter snows began; plus, baby bump!
Acantha gives a smile and a round of gentle applause for the winner of the first dress where she is seated. When the second winner is announced dthere's another gentle applause from the Baroness as she watches quietly.
Willow flashes a smile at Lethe in greeting as she is joined by she and the Lady Olivia on the couch. She applauds as the second number is read off, but mostly lingers in quiet conversation with her companions on the couch.
Emily grabs one the tiny cakes and pops it into my mouth and says, "Mmm it is really good." She sips the red colored drink and looks about. She peeks around the area and looking about and keeping on the move and smiling at Reese
Jaenelle returns the kiss to Juliana's check, nodding her head with understandting, "I am glad things are getting better." She lowers her voice to say something softer before giving another smile towards Sebastian as he approaches. She knows how important twin business is, so she doesnt stand in the way of Sebastian's kidnapping his sister.
Quenia does, however, go over to Emily. She greets her warmly. "Lady Emily. I'm glad to see you gracing Domus Igniseri's halls again. How have you been of late?" she asks the woman, while also keeping an eye on time.
Olivia turns to Sebastian and Emily, "Do join me and my cousins, and the fabulous Princess Reese?" She gestures over to the couch they are at.
Sebastian gives a distracted smile to Reese, and to Quenia, too, as she greets Emily -- but it's clear most of his attention is on his twin, sliding a hand through her arm to offer support. The smile from Jaenelle earns a brief, "Cousin," from the Pravus Lord, before he murmurs something quietly to Juliana and seeks to guide her towards a seat.
Quenia gets A Lubricity in Lenosia, a bead-woven mermaid gown with a precipitously plunged neckline from Lycene Night Sky Chained Bookcase.
Quenia has rolled 1 839-sided dice: 120
Jules squeezes Jaenelle's hands. "Thank you, we should have tea soon, I have some ideas about the new brocade I would like to run past you." leaning in to murmer to her cousin with a smile before Sebastian is claiming her arm and Juliana perhaps leans a little more against it than she was willing to admit. Her gaze flickering up to the tall Pravus lord then on past him to Emily with a nod and smile to the Deepwood lady. "Em, it's good to see you."
Next up!? Out comes A Lubricity in Lenosia, a bead-woven mermaid gown with a precipitously plunged neckline. Quenia does wait for Emily to respond, and then she pulls another number. This time, the number is 120. She takes a moment to consult her book to see who this person is. "It seems our next winner is Lady Lora Fidante! She will be receiving the lovely gown of Lenosia." Once that task is complete, Quenia goes back to the conversation she started with Emily.
"It is lovely to see all of you as well, I have been well, Emily is just fine, I would love to come join you Olivia and my right hand gal Reese," Emily says brightly as she moves over, sipping her red drink and eatting cake.
Emily has joined the couches embroidered with an ivory rose.
There's a murmuring exchange between the twins, as Sebastian guides Juliana over towards the couches in apparent acceptance of Olivia's invitation. He doesn't appear too fussed yet about any of the dresses -- probably because they haven't come to the Setarcan one yet.
Sebastian has joined the couches embroidered with an ivory rose.
Juliana has joined the couches embroidered with an ivory rose.
"Have you any grand tales of adventures from your time in the explorers," Quenia asks of Emily, her expression curious. She nods also to Reese, Willow, Olivia, and Lethe. She'd already greeted Sebastian and Juliana earlier. She introduces herself to those that she had not actually known previously. "I am Marquessa Quenia Igniseri. I want to say again, thank you for supporting the raffle tonight, which in turn goes to support the agricultural center we're building. Hopefully, after this evening, we'll also be able to find some crafters which will hopefully help turn the building into a functioning work of art in tribute to the Gods it's being dedicated as well." At least, that's her plan! She simultaneously gets to support the arts, as well as create a place beneficial to Granato.
"Truly, Marquessa? Please, let me know if you need any assistance with drawing up schematics," Willow offers. "That was part of my hand in the diplomatic tour of Grihem's Point," she explains, "Drafting blueprints for water purification and green houses to increase food production."
"I do have many stories of adventure, I actually am getting together a group of directionally challenged people to go on adventures with. I am going to pick the most directionally challenged one of all to try and get us all lost and figure out what we can find. Reese is my right hand gal of my group and we are arranging a meeting to be had in a treehouse to discuss our plans," Emily explains, chattering away, as if she really could have been talking a whole lot more but was maybe trying not to distract from the event. She sits at the couches, swinging her legs as she eats and drinks, un able to sit still "And I would be willing to help in anyway I can with this of course," she adds
Juliana waves towards Quenia, there is a parting smile to Jaenelle as Sebastian moves to draw her away, not resisting her brother's protectiveness at this time. When they do reach the couch, there are nods for both Reese and Olivia before taking a seat. "It looks like the raffle has gone well."
Sebastian ensures Juliana's seated, before claiming something non-alcoholic -- with a visible grimace -- taking a brief sip before offering to his twin. "Lady Sudara's the only one whose name I recognize so far. Disappointing. I can't be mad at people I don't know for winning," he observes with quiet amusement to those nearby, before he leans forward a little as he listens to Emily. "You know you only have to say 'art' to get me interested, Marquessa," he says to Quenia with a wry smile.
Reese looks over to Emily, nodding in response to her words. "That is true!" She says agreeing with such. "I am going to bring pink wine to gathering too." She adds, before smiling to Juliana. "Greetings, Lady Juliana."
"Yes!" Quenia practically blurts out at Willow, eyes bright and a large smile finding its way upon her lips. "We are definitely in need of engineers willing to help with the project, and I would consider it an immense help if you are able to join the project." It is easy to see that Willow's offer of aid excites her. She turns that million brightness smile over to Emily and her look turns curious once more. "Oh my, that does sound like quite the adventure." And then Sebastian is chiming in on the artwork part of things. "I would very much love your artful eye to help with this project," she tells him. "It was one of the things I had wanted to discuss, but our schedules are always getting in the way," she looks sheepish. "Pardon me a moment. I must go draw another number," she tells them, and goes to do that.
Quenia gets A Confidence in Caina, aquatic sea-shimmer on a halter-necked translucent champagne flaring gown from Lycene Night Sky Chained Bookcase.
Quenia has rolled 1 839-sided dice: 667
{Out comes another number. This time it is 667. Now, for most, this probably isn't a bad number. Not at all indeed. However, the look on Quenia's features when she pulls it and consults her board is /pure/ mischievousness. Something is afoot, assuredly. She goes to the book case and pulls out A Confidence in Caina, aquatic sea-shimmer on a halter-necked translucent champagne flaring gown. That done, she looks around the room and then pointedly walks in the direction of the Kennex table. "The next winner of a dress is Lord Ian Kennex." She announces, perhaps a touch more loudly than she needs to, and then she very deliberately hands the dress over to Ian, and most definitely /not/ Zoey.

Ian's gaze sliiiiides over to Wash when Quenia makes the announcement and the dress comes over in his direction. He doesn't rise to receive the dress, but since it's being put into his hands, he takes it. Then he leans over and says something under his voice to Wash.
A messenger arrives, delivering a message to Quenia before departing.
Ian's name has Juliana looking up and glancing towards the table of Kennex, a smile offered and a small wave towards Zoey before shed looks back to the conversations that are going on around her.
Washapplauds Ian's success. "That was some luck." He listens to Ian carefully and strokes his chin. He side-eyes Zoey momentarily.
Nodding deeply as she smiles at Quenia, Willow gestures to Olivia, and says, "I would be glad to assist. Have you met my cousin Lady Olivia? She is a disciple of Petrichor, a talented gardener, and has even been involved in the breeding and engineering of an entirely new breed of gourd." She smiles at Olivia as she talks her cousin up.
Reese smiles over to Ian as he is announced as the winner. "Congrats, Lord Ian. It will be very lovely on Lady Zoey or yourself." She says before looking to Willow and Olivia. She smiles over to them as Olivia and Willow.
Emily keeps busy eating cake and drinking her drink as she fidgets in place and listens on the conversation around her
Ian automatically starts folding the dress that he now apparently owns, the habit of a sailor who has to keep his things neat and compact by necessity. Which means he's folding it like a really long man's shirt, not in any way that a dress should be folded. He gives Reese a suspicious look, then says something to Wash.
Sebastian claps as the Lord Ian's name is announced. "Was there a rule in there we have to wear what we win? Hm." he eyes some of the dresses. "I'm not sure I'd fit, but if it's a rule..." he seems unbothered by it.
"I do very much hope you enjoy the dress, Lord Ian." Quenia says, and the way she says it could have /so many/ connotations. She eyes Wash a moment, winking in his direction, and then in Zoey's, then turns to go back to her conversation with Willow at the other table. "I have Lady Willow, and in fact Lady Olivia and I have discussed having her help with this project. She and Mistress Petal will be seeing to setting up the agricultural side of things, and Archlector Brigida will be performing the blessings and dedications on the agricultural center. Legate Ailith may perform some of the ceremonies as well, for the Faith." Upon hearing Reese's comment, she laughs rather heartily. "Lady Zoey bought the tickets particularly for Lord Ian." Amusement is clear in her eyes.
Quenia gets An Imbroglio in Ischia, a glittering indigo sheath dress with a cape suspended from lapis chains on the shoulders from Lycene Night Sky Chained Bookcase.
Ian seems to have gone from maybe-playfully threatening Wash to conspiring with him about something.
Quenia has rolled 1 839-sided dice: 568
The Marquessa also manages to grab another dress on her way back to chat with Willow and others. Also, she draws another number. With so many dresses in the raffle, she has to keep things moving. The dress pulled out this time is An Imbroglio in Ischia, a glittering indigo sheath dress with a cape suspended from lapis chains on the shoulders Quenia once more consults her board, and says, "The winner of the next dress, this time from Ischia, is Princess Reese Grayson." And since she is already on her way to the table, she hands the dress over to Reese. "I do hope you'll find a use for it, Princess, even if it is not pink," she winks in Reese's direction.
Reese checked composure at difficulty 15, rolling 15 higher. Reese rolled a critical!
Willow claps enthusiastically as Reese's name js called.
Reese has a few softly spoken words with those at the couch with her. Upon hearing her name, Reese's eyes widen with joy. A flush colors her cheeks and she has this very composed and elegant sort of smile that might seem rather princessy and this delicate outrush of breath that is not quite a squeal. "Oh, I so blessed and lucky, thank you Marquesa Quenia. It is beautiful and I will find a use for it for sure."
"You are quite welcome, Princess Reese. And /thank you/" Quenia says for probably the millionth time this evening. So far, so good! She looks around the room to see whom she should mingle with next. To Jaenelle she goes. She nods to the Archduchess. "I was beginning to despair all of the dresses would be going to those not here," she says conversationally.
Quenia gets An Engagement in Esterhold, a sensual copper gown spooled around the body and slashed by stardust from Lycene Night Sky Chained Bookcase.
Willow mutters, "That one and the ... ... are ... ... I ... liked best."
"Congratulations Reese," Emily exclaims, not seeming to really pay attention to Juliana's look. "I have not seen Luis in ages, we both got so busy in our own ways," she says, chattering away. Emily goes back to eating cake and drinking her red colored drink

Zoey just smiles at @ian, impishness in her eyes as she leans over to murmur something in his ear.

Jaenelle laughs at Quenia as she approaches where she has perched herself, "I could image that its exciting to see the winner's faces in person when their number is called, though I am positive even if they are not here, they are just as excited to hear the news they've won."
Ian angles his head and says something quietly to Zoey.
Olivia has left the couches embroidered with an ivory rose.
Lethe has left the couches embroidered with an ivory rose.
3 Tyde Houseguard, 2 Redwood Initiates leave, following Lethe.
The next dress to come out is An Engagement in Esterhold, a sensual copper gown spooled around the body and slashed by stardust. This time someone else brings it to Quenia, since she started a conversation with Jaenelle. They also brought her the jar of numbers so she can choose. She selects one number first, and then discards it. Discards only happen when someone has won something already. Rules are rules! She picks another number, then looks down the chart held out for her. "Number 162 belongs to Baroness Lucita Saik!" she calls out, somewhat pleased to see her cousin won something!
2 House Velenosa Guards, Dreya, an older woman in Velenosan livery, Ailfryd, a tall, thin man with a haugty air arrive, following Saoirse.

Washis a bit of a connoisseur of fashion, so he enjoys looking at the dresses, even if his odds of winning one are infinitesimal. He applauds politely for the winer of course, even if they are not in present. For Lucita though, his applause is somewhat more earnest, as he considers her a close personal friend.
Floofus, the fluffiest Graypeak Mountain Puppy, 2 Redwood Regulars arrive, following Ajax.
Sebastian's head lifts from his quiet chat, looking just as pleased as when Sudara's name was called. "The Baroness! Congratulations," he enthuses, clapping as he regards the dress Lucita's won, smiling.
Well that one gets a squeek from Jules, as Luci's name is called the Lady Igniseri claps her hands enthusiastically, grabbing one of Sebastian's arms in her excitement.
Reese smiles as Lucita is announced as the winner. "She will look wonderful in that gown, the Baroness." She says. She stays curled-up on the blue couch. She then peeks over to Olivia and Willow. "Still a few more, fingers crossed that you both will win one."
Saoirse is definitely NOT a connoisseur of fashion, so when she enters a starstruck look of utter 'overwhelm' comes over the princess' normally impassive features. Oh god. Oh sparkle. Oh me oh my, the slits! the slinks! The silks! Saoirse lifts a hand and loudly proclaims, "I bid fifty thou--" and then realizes... it's not an auction. And she wouldn't look good in that dress anyway, or so a whispered murmur goes through the crowd. Poor hopeless Saoirse.
With the Esterhold gown out of hte way, the next coming up looks to be Setarco, but Quenia is in no hurry to get to it as yet. She grins at Jaenelle. "I'm very certain Lucita will be excited to see her gown. She's very fashionable, that one. Learned everything I know about fashion from her, though I'll never quite have the grace she does with modeling." A pause. "She recently secured some of that newer cloth for me. The seatouched wool. She was quite excited about it!" She glances over at Saoirse and grins.
Quenia gets A Scandal in Setarco, an ethereal garden meticulously reimagined in black and red roses on a translucent grey silk fit-and-flare gown from Lycene Night Sky Chained Bookcase.
Clearly it is Jaenelle's duty to save Saoirse. Subtly, she glances towards the Velenosa Princess, smiles, and motions her closer all the while never breaking the conversation with the hostess. "Lucita will be thrilled. I have asked her about decorating tips, though never fashion. Perhaps I should have!"
Willow grins at Reese and nods, "My favorite of the bunch is up next." She crosses her fingers.
Quenia has rolled 1 839-sided dice: 356
"Oh, wow that is very lovely." Reese says softly to Willow.
With a small Ajax trudges his way into the great hall proeprly, hsi brown eyes shifting around as he joins the crowd properly, his head canting to the side as the people celebrate the winners, seemingly with a curious expression.
The fact that the Setarcan dress is next is the very reason -- perhaps -- Sebastian looks particularly interested, tracking Quenia's movements as she appears to be in no hurry to draw the next time. He reaches, reflexively, for Juliana's/his glass of wi-- no, it's not wine, and he'd forgotten, grimacing briefly before swiftly covering up the expression with a cough.
"Well this has been great fun but I think I have sat around long enough, thank you for having me and it is lovely to see you all again. I do hope we get a chance to catch up more but I must be off," Emily says chattering away as she finishes her cake and drink and makes her way out into the snow.
"Lucita's very good with fashion," Quenia says to Jaenelle. "She's talked to designers about a piece of two for me, and collaborated with others too. She has a lovely ensemble planned with her own seatouched wool that also includes pieces of brocade." Again, her assitants go to get the next dress. This time A Scandal in Setarco, an ethereal garden meticulously reimagined in black and red roses on a translucent grey silk fit-and-flare gown Quenia pulls the number, and reads it over. She grins, then immediately instructs her assistants to hand the dress to none other than, "The next winner is Archduchess Jaenelle Velenosa. I do hope you enjoy the Setarco gown."
Reese looks over to Jaenelle. "Congratulations Archduchess."
Emily has left the couches embroidered with an ivory rose.
2 House Deepwood Guards, Rona, Aurora, a dark coated Oakhaven bloodhound leave, following Emily.
Washwaves Ajax over to join the Kennexes. They've made a beachhead at a table and seem ensconced for the duration. It's a reserved event, and Wash is still on his first drink, but he gestures for another round to be brought over to his table.
Willow claps enthusiastically for Jaenelle.
Zoey has left the a walnut wooden table stained a red-brown.
Jules may have been busy watching as the winners were called but that didn't stop her from noticing Bas' grimmace and snickering. Since her brother is being stubborn, motions a servant towards them instructing a glass of Setarcan red be brought for her brother. Then Jaenelle is winning the dress and Jules smiles. "You will be lovely, Jae. As always."
Quenia gets An Ovation in Ostria, a garnet-dappled champagne ballgown with an asymmetrical sheared hem from Lycene Night Sky Chained Bookcase.
Ondine, a red-breasted sparrowhawk arrives, delivering a message to Acantha before departing.
Sebastian half eyes Juliana as she orders a wine for him. Pointedly though he doesn't drink it -- maybe he's playing stubborn to a hilt -- and then he straightens as Quenia calls out the winner of the Setarcan dress. He looks amused. "Well, at least it went to a Lycene," he murmurs. "Congratulations," he calls, louder.

"It is a beautiful garment," Jaenelle tells Quenia as she receives the gown, looking it over delicately. "I am sure that someone from the Pravus family will appreciate it so much more than I could ever, and I will be honored to gift it forward once the event is finished. Thank you, Quenia, for all the work put into this."
Quenia is nodding her head to Jaenelle. "I'm sure they will quite enjoy it," she gives the Archduchess a nod of deference. That task complete, she goes to see to another dress. This one is An Ovation in Ostria, a garnet-dappled champagne ballgown with an asymmetrical sheared hem. Another number pulled, Quenia calls out. "The next number is 75. It belongs to Princess Tikva Grayson!"
Ajax's fingers come together in polite applause before he does join the Kennex's giving the man an easy going smile, "Lord Kennex." he offers, settling into a chair, his fingers moving to rub the back of his neck.
Ian nods a greeting to Ajax. "Hey."
Quenia gets A Nocturne in Nilanza, a rubied silk velvet column dress crowned in a gem-strung gold lace hood from Lycene Night Sky Chained Bookcase.

The evening is starting to wind down, and in the interest of sparing time, Quenia seems to be proceeding with the next dress: A Nocturne in Nilanza, a rubied silk velvet column dress crowned in a gem-strung gold lace hood. She discards a few numbers, people who have already won and thus strictly enforcing the one dress per person rule, and says. "Next up we have number 560. Lady Sabine Tessere!" All these Lycene winning!
Quenia gets A Gambit in Granato, a sheer, decadent apricot ombre fit-and-flare gown painted in burgundy swirls from Lycene Night Sky Chained Bookcase.
Quenia has rolled 1 839-sided dice: 337
Quenia has rolled 1 839-sided dice: 52
Quenia has rolled 1 839-sided dice: 412
Quenia has rolled 1 839-sided dice: 624
And, there's the final dress. The one Quenia saved for last. She picks up A Gambit in Granato, a sheer, decadent apricot ombre fit-and-flare gown painted in burgundy swirls. Quenia then draws the final number. She reads it, then looks around the room. She's beaming a warm smile over in Merek's direction. "The final gown for this evening goes to Merek Black! With number 624."
Ondine, a red-breasted sparrowhawk arrives, delivering a message to Acantha before departing.
"Yay!" Merek says, as he claps a bit also.
Acantha gives applause for those that won the dresses and she rises, smoothing her skirts as she accepts a messenger. Then she heads for the exit just as quietly as she entered.
Juliana is overheard praising Quenia.
Benny The Beaver leaves, following Acantha.
Sebastian is overheard praising Quenia.
Reese is overheard praising Quenia: Great Event!
"I want to take the time again to thank everyone for partaking in the raffle, either just through coming here to watch and support it in that way, or also spending resources on tickets for this evening. I do hope you had a great time, and I do wonder what those Kennex boys are going to make Ian do with that dress," Quenia says, grinning widely at Ian and the others. "Tonight, with your help, we raised 3,420 economic resources to be put towards the agricultural center project. /THANK YOU/ most sincerely."
Reese asks softly. "Who made these dresses? They are so super pretty. I want to thank them." She then smiles over to Merek. "Congrats!"
Willow has left the couches embroidered with an ivory rose.
Intrigue, a sleek, diminutive raven with blue-black plumage have been dismissed.
If Sebastian is disappointed at not winning it doesn't show: he's clapping enthusiastically as Quenia announces the total raised for the project. "Well done, Marquessa," he calls. He sets aside his wine, glancing at Juliana and murmuring something as he rises.
Ian eyes Quenia across the room, then looks down at the dress in his lap. Then he looks at Wash.
Reese is overheard praising Ian: Yay, winner of a lovely gown!
Saoirse sheepishly moves toward Jaenelle and lowers her voice. Something mumbled about 'so sorry' and 'I'm just going to--' and then she beelines out of the room.
2 House Velenosa Guards, Dreya, an older woman in Velenosan livery, Ailfryd, a tall, thin man with a haugty air leave, following Saoirse.
With an easy going smile he nods his head towards Ian, "Also, lo' Lord Kennex." he offers, Ajax's fingers moving to rub the back of his head.
Washshakes his head at Ian. "It's not going to be today. I'm a genius, not a magician."
Reese rises to her feet. "Hi, Master Ajax, nice to see you. I think I need to get a meeting soon. Merek I love you dress, so pretty."
Sebastian leans down to kiss Juliana's cheek, before slipping out, buttoning his coat as he goes.
Merek says, "Thanks!"
Sebastian has left the couches embroidered with an ivory rose.
2 Pravus Honor Guard leaves, following Sebastian.
Reese has left the couches embroidered with an ivory rose.
Ian shrugs, then. "I'll have this sent back to the Kay, I guess. Evander's holed up in the Shrine of the Thirteenth. I think I'm going to stop by and say hello."
