Its just a sword. If what stands between you and the safety of your family is some old ass piece of metal, then youre house is fucked. Sword or no sword.

From my meeting with her it is clear that Lady Beatrice Malspero has a sharp mind for details and asking relevant questions. She also seems to have a sly sense of humour. Definitely someone work having as a friend and ally.

I'm not burdened with nobility, so I can't say whether it'd make sense to wager with something that was entrusted to me but wasn't mine.
I can say, as a common man, that I can't see myself accepting such a wager though, even if offered. It'd be a miracle to have it work out.

There is wisdom in what you've written. I hope I have it within me to not just hear them, but measure myself against them the next time my actions may impact another.

I met a new person today. You know, in this city. I feel as if some people on introductions just skip normal social cues to go. "Hello, ser, will you be so kind as to tell me everything about yourself?" normally, when this happens I come up with something amusing to tell them to pass the time. Despite the very fact that this could blur the line between someone being able to tell if I am being genuine or not with them. Though, the interesting part is with this individual I did not. I had to backtrack a little onto something but otherwise, yeah. It was almost refreshing. Could of been that the person in question was ready to fight in the middle of a shrine, but hey, this city seems to attract all types. Though, maybe next time a premature peace offering of rum may be in order.

It has been a very busy and inspiring week. What started as a rather idle conversation has grown into something much greater. I am humbled to be a small part of this venture. Even moreso by the support Prince Lorenzo has gathered as well as by those who so quickly and passionately volunteered. So many different people doing some small thing or another. I think that was the point, really - discovering something we could all share.
"Recall the fallen, but the living too." May we always remember.

Normally say "Sweet Words, Sharp Knives" but I suppose I'm up to changing it to "Fucking Awful, even more than Graysons" but then again even if we are great at being awful, don't Graysons say "None Greater?"

There are a number of things to say. The emotions I am feeling right now are utterly indescribable. To strive for something for so long - to be told, again and again, that you should take the easy way instead of the right way, that you don't understand what you are doing, that you are a fool and doomed to failure, these things have their affect on all of us. Even on me.
There are times in our life where things can become very complicated and very complex. Where the challenges we face might seem insurmountable, or the difficulties onerous, or where even just survival is painful. We can push through these. It is up to each and every one of us to make the world a better place, to look at the choices we make and really think about both the reasons we do them and what the consequences will be. To understand what defines us as a people.
Why we deserve our freedom. That we aren't a failure.
I want to thank those who have stood by me every step of the way on this journey. I want to thank those who made me stop and really question what I was doing, who forced me to reconsider and rework, who helped me choose my words carefully. Those who stood up for me in public spheres; those who stood up for me in private ones. Those who called in favors. Who were willing to do what was right.
And I want to commend House Telmar. I feel no further animosity towards them. Duke Arn proved today that he is, in fact, a man of honor, something which I will loudly and proudly champion. He has proven that he will do the right thing even when it is hard, because it is the right thing to do. He has honored the gods in what he chose today.
A new chapter begins. The past has not left us, but one large rend has been mended. I am excited for the future; a future in which I will honor the legacy of which I am now a part.

One thing I have learned from asking people why they engage in mean gossip about this week's most celebrated model, political enemy, or other figure whom they do not like, they will inevitably tell you they disapprove of some particular bad behavior the person in question is alleged to have been involved in. Few, however, take the trouble to examine contexts with rigor, thoroughness, and disinterestedness. The possibility that the accused might be innocent usually gets little consideration. After all, in general, we mortals are hypocrites and pretenders, only too happy to wax indignant about things that, when we ourselves and/or our intimates do them, inspire no indignation whatsoever.

If you observe social interactions closely, you may notice that people constantly (mis) perceive others in terms of their own interests. This is simply how the mind works. More often than not, it happens unawares, and involves not a little distortion and delusion.
After all, our natural primary inclination is to assert our will, for our will to be done in every situation.

I once challenged Duke Arn to a duel for hating fun, and he refused, whereupon I branded him a funhater or some such. I can't recall, it was over a year ago. But I shall now publicly retract my comment from a year or so ago. I don't care whether he hates fun or not, or even if he is a grumpy gus.
He shows honor to Limerance and writes with skill in a hard place.

While some will say that it has taken entirely too long, I applaud you for doing the honorable, and just thing in the end. It clearly wasn't an easy situation to be involved with, but the records will show you did right by your Houses promise in the end.
