My own home! I know my cousins are the greatest, but I do believe that Silas is angling to be my favorite with all the help he's given me.
What's even better than having my own home, is getting to share that home with the one that I love and his son, that I also love. I am a very lucky woman.

I found adventure of a kind, or at least, I have not been the least bit bored which amount to the same thing really. Things of note:
* Haggling is much harder than I thought and I almost botched away a bunch of money that wasn't even mine. I sorted it out, all responsible for my own actions. I'm as susprised as Joscelin is, probably.
* I'm getting various job offers left and right and feel a bit like a donkey between two pieces of candy. Which one is sweeter? No, why can't I have them all? I don't know, I don't think this metaphor works at all, who made it up? It's stupid. Either or, this keeps me from being bored too!
* I met a relative I didn't know about. Nor do Joscelin, I suppose. This is still leaving me all sorts of confused.
* The bard's college. Is that a thing for me?

Long ago and far away; Lady Amari, Lady Lisebet, and I were the runners up at the Very Serious Bath Party (before Count Giulio came up with a lung buster).
Now, we three women are hanging out in the Bold Espressions, reflecting back, conjuring up ideas anew, and just having a great time.
It is just one of many more wonderful moments these days.
[Additional Information: Lady Rosalie Redtyde was also a runner up during that same event with us, too, but I only focused what was going on in front of me last night and spaced out that important detail! There were four of us!]

Who ever knew that I'd like sailing so much. But I do. There's a freedom to it that I always sorta wanted, but never really knew how to get. The wind in your hair, way up high in the crow's nest, seeing the water all around you as far as you can see in any direction. It feels so wide open and like I could go anywhere.
Then there's the crew. I don't mind pitching in and working right alongside them, but when things get rough, then my knowledge just isn't up to speed yet. So I do what I can. I make them coffee. I bring them warm blankets. I give them a tiny bit of respite here and there, just so they can keep on going to pull us through safely. Dunno if they really like it or not, but either way, at least it makes me feel useful.
Don't get me wrong. I love Arx. It's my home and my city. Never lived anywhere else. There's times when the narrow streets and tight alleys and buildings all around call to me just as much. Plus I have family here now, who have wormed their way into my heart real fast. Wouldn't miss being here when Josie's lil one is born, for sure!
So, I reckon it's a balance and I'm just fine with it that way. It's good to be home.

Wolves that have lost their packs mature into harder and hungrier beasts than their brothers and sisters that know the pack. One such wolf decided that, to survive, he would become the hardest and hungriest of them all. He traveled the world, collecting scars and collecting kills until he had finally distinguished himself as the deadliest wolf found the world over.
As such, he was brought before the richest Prince of the land, to display his prowess for royal eyes. As he approached the throne, he saw one of those pampered little lap dogs that fine people like to keep near them, staring down at him from atop her silken pillow. Yet, as he drew closer, he realized that he recognized those yellow eyes, those sharp teeth! This was no lapdog. This was a wolf, just as he was!
As he drew closer, he growled under his breath so the Prince could not hear him, "Sister, how have you let yourself become so soft and weak? How can you lower yourself to sit upon this Prince's knee when you could be the Queen of the Forests, wandering and nurturing your pack?"
The lapdog smiled, hiding her sharp teeth. Her golden eyes glinted beneath a mop of curled and carefully brushed fur. A jeweled collar wrapped around her neck. She was well-fed, well-groomed. The Prince, as if unable to stop himself, reached out to stroke her silky fur. "Oh, old wolf," she said with a smile, "there are many ways to survive."

He's the Captain-General of the Valorous Few, and Baron of Fen de Lire. The Few aren't his barony's army, and as far as I'm aware? Approximately three of the Few are a part of his barony.
I'd make a quip about the Crimson Blades, but that's not fair to Harlex and Baroness Violet. I doubt either of them see the Blades as their 'subjects', either.

That feels like a good deal of work. But I do find myself curious. If time permits, I may be so inclined.

What? The training my folks get is second to none - if we weren't extremely skilled, we wouldn't, y'know, get hired to defend the Lodge from the Gargantuan long enough to actually kill it.
