It was so very heartening to see so many beautiful faces come to my Hart’s Soldiers’ Salute. So many came to raise spirits and celebrate those who rise to defend our realm. To remind them that we care and, though we cannot be with them in the battle to come, we are still at their side and support them with all that we have.
Together we shared a beautiful night and offered our deepest respect, gratitude, pride and love, so that they may carry this with them in the hard times to come and home again.
The darkness we face is relentless. The battles that are fought are never easy or pretty. The dangers are very real. And so, with each step we take to meet the darkness and move closer to the light, it is important that we show our support and gratitude for all that they do. For bravely protecting those who cannot protect themselves. For being an inspiration to us all.
Equally so, it is vital for all of us to remember what we are fighting for and to continue raise spirits and hope among all the peoples who live in our realm -– common folk, Shav'arni and nobles alike. All of us. For it is this spirit and hope that will see us through the darkest times.
And so, to light, luck and love. To our fighters and those that support them. To hope! To victory! And many more sweet nights together in better times!

The sword of a household is not the personal blade of the bearer. It is the House's weapon. It does not belong the an individual who happens to wield it. It cannot be given away by them or offered in payment. I am surprised more do not realize the this is not just some trinket owned by one person. It is owned by a house in full.
I could no more bet the contents of your purse or your horse and hound and expect you to honour MY debt. It simply is not mine or anyone's to bet or offer. It is ludicrous to think to think of even accepting such a bet when it so very clearly does not belong to someone who bears it.
It is disappointing to not have bets honoured? Yes. Is the behavior unbecoming and shameful? Absolutely. It is unbecoming behavior to think one could bet something of this nature could be bet in the first place and then shout out about being owned something that was never yours?
However, the truth is, an object such as this was no one's to bet in the first place and cannot be therefore expected. It is the folly of accepting a bet on something that is no theirs to offer.
In such situations where one is rather dishonorable in such practice, I would humbly suggest that owner of the debt realize there was nothing on the table and that other compensation should be offered. Perhaps our courts of law might offer fair compensation.
As for the debtor and thief, let his or her house deal with their conduct. It is their right to punish as they see fit.

My favorite thing to make is clothing with plants and flowers. Because really plants and flowers are the most beautiful of all. Much more beautiful than people.
Autumn is the perfect time for such. And so project autumn flora clothing is in the works!

He is not the one growing his child. He is unnerved by the sight and feel of it moving within me. If I am wroth with him I just put my belly to his back and wait for the child to stir and he is out of the bed as quick as can be and whining about it or off the couch.
I am fat, ungainly and tired and trust maxene to ensure that I have put on the right slippers. I am glad at least to be off the ship and back in the city once again. Esterhold was interesting. I will admit to that.

What I find myself wondering most in the wake of all of this: were the one making all of these demands not as popular a figure in the Compact as they are, would so many not be rallying to her cry? If it were some relatively unknown upstart in Whisper House, I imagine that all and sundry would have just waved their hand and agreed already with what is known. The Sword belongs to the House. It is carried by the one it is given to as a place of honor and respect, but it is not theirs to give away.
I think we can all agree that the bet should not have been made in the first place, but the Whisper in question should not have taken the bet and it makes me suspect that this was a plan to take the sword all along. Especially when paired with the other patently ridiculous demands and this ludicrous display put in the proclamations where it does not belong.

Dearest Adoptive Grandparents,
Recently, I witnessed.. something. I don't really understand it. People involved with drugging others were around. It was weird. There was fighting and stealing. Those taking things must have had quite the need of the things they took to survive.
I have also been working on putting things into my shop. It has been going well, I think.
That is all I really had to say. I've been writing toy uo more frequently so there is not much to say. Besides, I really don't do many 'exciting' things.
With Regards,
Sheena

As it is said, the gods give what the gods give, and not always in the season or amount that is to our even most fervent desires.
The knight I squired for was not one for tournaments of public rites, though that is another story altogether, but neither did he deny me or seek to change my love of them. Every time I participate, or watch, which is as much as I can, it is a joy to feel the hope of the little girl with stars in her eyes dreaming of taking the field with her heroes, and the wonder of the woman grown who finds herself one of them.
