Relationship Note on Tabitha

My family truly is a rarity and a wonder.

The adopted members in spirit, the ones related by blood, and the cat.

Because Cabbit is a person too.

Relationship Note on Victus

Are you certain? Do you know for SURE that I don't have a tail hidden under all these skirts? Perhaps it, too, wags faster than the rest can keep up.

In regards to learning a new tongue, given that one learns a new language from someone else.. its usually best to seek out that person (or another equally versed) to try out your linguistics skills on. Then they can gently steer you back to the proper verbiage when your tongue leads you astray.

Another year? As they say, there is an alternative to getting older, but I don't think I'm ready for that yet.

I've been spending some time studying the cairn Valardin, to help me understand how the soldiers of old were recognized. There are single soldiers who have monuments to be remembered, but so many others who have none left behind to remember even their names. It is a solemn and humbling thought.

I do not shy from the danger ahead because of it. I know Gloria and The Sentinel's ideals are my own, and Death will judge my worth whatever the fate ahead. Yet memories are fickle, even when set in stone.

You'll never be as happy as a dog that's wagging its tail so hard, its ass can't keep up.

Relationship Note on Mydas

We will be married a full year this month. I believe we've fulfilled our obligations and you've officially become my longest marriage to date. What else is there to look forward to now? Perhaps we should just call it quits when its on a high note?

Its not you, its me.

We're already proud of you, and we always will be, so you needn't worry about that. And it's so lovely to have you with us in the manor.

Relationship Note on Sabella

I will always try, sister dear. There are a number of things being researched, and places to go. I'll definitely be back to that mountainside. There's just something of that view, and the climb was not particularly dangerous if you went slow. I really can't do it justice.

A new project for the College has finally begun: the gathering of lore.

Many songs, poems, and other knowledge have been lost over the years; the College seeks to preserve and renew interest in such things. If you've music-related lore, we would love to talk to you so we can add to our collection. We'll be reaching out to the Scholars as well.

The Bard's College will be opening to the public tonight. Come for a concert, featuring myself and other talents, and stay after for the celebration.

I'm so proud of what we've accomplished. The building is beautiful. Be sure to look at the mosaic on the floor; there's always some new detail to notice.

It is good to be the Nightingale.

Time has flown by. Preparations have kept me busy. It surprises me, looking back over the last six months, how I haven’t slowed down to enjoy or appreciate them fully. The other day Thorley took me to the Shrine of Gild. It was part of a special day he had planned. Full of wonderful surprises.

We had the pleasure of speaking with Archlector Etienne. It truly inspired us both. I cannot remember specifics, but what really struck me was this. Remember to give to yourself as well, acknowledging what you do and offer. It’s okay to do so. This includes forgiving yourself. I wish I had the chance to write it all down.

As I said it was inspiring. As a result Thorley wishes, as do I, to reaffirm our vows before friends before things with the Lodge truly begin. I hope we have time. It is always good to celebrate before an encounter. Keeps the spirits up and reminds you strongly of who and what you protect.

My shelves look dubiously bare. They require more books. The Gilded Page is bound to be my next stop, after a coffee shop. This is the sort of adventure that a girl lives for. The delving into the stacks in search of something breathtakingly rare -- that precious volume inscribed by a tale of wit and wonder, something that settles into the mind like a coin tossed into a fountain. Let it shine bright and clear. Let us all admire the gorgeous variety of thoughts and words captured in enriched detail, a transporting moment to another time.

I need to arrange for a book trade, don't I?

Humor is a thing that everyone has different tastes and tolerances for. For me personally I feel like there are few things healthier than to have a good sense of humor about yourself. Being able to laugh about your own foibles and short comings is one of the great ways to find the humility you need to always strive to be better.

Now if you like to be the one telling the joke to "expose our hypocrisy and weakness" I commend you for your willingness to see my flaws and help me see them myself. I would also challenge you to have the courage to turn that razor edged wit back on yourself though. I think you will find yourself stronger for it.
