Two of the senior members of the Iron Guard and various other important people around Arx are all leaving on a vacation. I understand several are leaving last wills in case they don't return.
I will be quite cross with all of those leaving if they don't make it back. I wish them safe travels, fair winds, and a wonderful story to bring back.

Gods forbid it, but on occassion of brave Dame Leola's passing, I will plan to erect a green-veined white marble statue. It will be of the good Paladin of Groves, the Knight of Southport, the loyal Disciple of Petrichor, and the best protege ever - that will stand in the Saik gardens along with the rest of our House. She will be memorialized with her faithful steed and hawk.

Please find enclosed my will, such as it is
- the Crimson Seed, the alaricite bow gifted by the Nox'alfar, is to be returned to the Faith who placed it in my keeping
- my armor and spear, the golden horn, and my books, are the property of the Lodge of Petrichor
- If allowed, Aletta, my hawk, be given leave to remain at the Lodge in peace, for the rest of her days
- The rest of my goods - my horse, my clothes, my accounts - are properly the property of the family Saik, and I ask them to dispose of them as they best see fit, for Lord Karadoc and Baroness-Regent Lucita Saiks to have that final word.
- I do not ask any of my black journals be released
- Should my body be returned to the Compact, I do not seek any burial beyond that fitting a vassal of Saik.

I can attest from experience that having children doesn't make you predisposed to like people. Rather, it might make you predisposed to dislike them more -- because now you have to worry about other people around your children. However, you /might/ soften when around your own kids, somewhat. But only somewhat. You'll still have your hard, crusty edge otherwise, promise!

Any woman who enjoys having kids is mentally questionable. That was the most obnoxious painful inane experience of my life.
I am now a mommy. They're tiny and noisy and somewhat adorable when asleep. Which is not often. Idris and Iris, born November 5th. I had picked out both names thinking I would have one or the other but not both.
Screw you, Cicero. For not being here to see your babies because you were an idiot to leave the sanctuary for my sake. I'll have to settle for a statue and say, 'There's daddy. Now listen to your mum when she tells you about evil things that want you dead.'
And I'm vastly amused by the lack of 'Oh how WONDERFUL for you' I get. Other women pop out kids and people are falling all over themselves to congratulate them. Guess this is what you get for being a curmudgeon.

Glancing over the several white entries. I keep encountering the grim reminder that winter is on its way. I almost felt like I was going to freeze to death last winter. Lets hope the time in Arx has helped me adjust to this winter better than I handled last one coming straight from Tor.

I'm leaving for awhile. I'm calling it a vacation.
My wife, Esoka Greenblood receives all of my savings, belongings and shop.
With the exception that any of my surviving gear be given to the Iron Guard for new recruits.
In the event my wife isn't able to accept my things, I'd like them passed on to Harper Ashdown.

Gods, a few months at sea can really put some rust in your skill with a blade.
Fortunately Lord Ian was perfectly willing to feed me my teeth repeatedly over a long afternoon in an effort to show me where I'm going wrong. I learned a lot. Hopefully one day my ribs will heal.
Aurelian, my beloved future cousin-in-law and marquis-to-be, also walked me through some basic techniques in not getting hit-ology. Could have used that at Setarco when my former bos'n decided to show off what an excellent archer he was and then I couldn't sit down for a week. My sister has offered to pick up that training, so I look forward to seeing her heaving bricks at me in the atrium.

I met a strange man in the Shrine of the Sentinel recently, a blind sage who called himself Justus. He is an interesting fellow, wise, enigmatic, and certainly more than he lets on. Hopefully I'll get a chance to get to know him better, because every answer he gave me left me with more questions.

I've learned just about all I can about tailoring and woodworking without achieving mastery. Gone are the days of tearing wool to shreds at the Algair pasture. I can work with aeterna and umbra now, and make any kind of furniture I want.
What should I learn next? I find leatherworking intriguing and highly in demand. It's also applicable to my other crafts enough that it's worth pursuing as an addition to them.
I have a personal project to work on regarding my new outfit plans, plenty of commissions to work on one at a time, and new things to learn. I'm ready for everything that entails.

Well, anyone is welcome to a bottle if they take a long term contract out with the Blades. I do not hide that fact. It is an excellent thing made by Master Brew Venturo of Raconteur Brewing. It has a spicey cherry bite to it that you won't find in any other whiskey.

There is nothing quite like winter. I love it. I miss the cold bite of it. Luckily I and some others made a journey north to Whitehold. Where the snow never quite leaves the area. It was nice to feel the nip on my nose and the cool and fresh smell of snow. There are many who will be moaning come winter in Arx, while I and others will be laughing and keeping warm with our northern savage ways. My suggestion for those who do not look forward to winter? Whiskey. Good northern stuff. Pretty sure Arik brought back a case from Whitehold...
