Cassius' death in NOT your fault. Much as I hate to admit it, he was always destined for a young and violent death, and you well know why. Death surrounds some of us. We cannot control it, we cannot stop it. We must simply learn to bear up under the burden and keep going. I could share an even longer death toll of my own, Lady Malvici, but it would do none of them any good to lament my culpability in their deaths.

I was surprised to find the Archduchess Eleyna in my shop today, with her usual bribe ready and waiting. As usual, the woman gave more florid prose than I could handle about my work and character, and when my knees started to buckle, she offered me the most amazing bottle of chocolate rose wine.
I -still- said no, the Guildmaster cannot denote favoritism to any House or Fealty.
But by the fertile testicles of Jayus, she makes it difficult to refuse her with every passing moon. Every time I think she can't outdo herself, she does.
There is no more poised or eloquent creature as Eleyna Velenosa, gods have mercy on whomever gets in her way of something she wants or deems that she needs. She is -relentless-. (Scholar, be sure to note that this is said with relish and fear both.)

I had strong affections for Juliet Fidante.
I loved Cicero Velenosa-Malvici enough to marry him and bear his child.
I had a deep love for Armel Godsworn to where I trusted him with my secrets as much as my body and heart.
I had loved Cassius Pravus for years and only grew enough courage to tell him after never telling Cicero as much. We had a few happy months to share it.
To be loved by me is to die at the hands of the Abyss.
Lucien must have done something to me during the war to curse me like this.
If not for this baby... I don't know what I would be doing right now.
