No, you do not. But there might be some on the doorway to your bedroom. Just saying.

The best kind of friendships are fierce lady friendships where you aggressively believe in each other, defend each other, and think the other deserves the world.

Marriage? I’m glad you asked! It’s basically just about one-upping the other when it comes to gifts. Oh, and BETRAYING the other when it comes to food.

Relationship Note on Mabelle

Yesterday my cousin put on an extremely impressive party for her birthday that involved massive quantities of cookies. I was mildly concerned that the main hall was going to be a total disaster this morning. I crept out, fearful. But as I inspected all of the tables, chairs and fireplaces, I was able to confirm the place was in one piece.

Then I carried a couch back to the sitting room despite the protests of one of the stewards. He kept shouting, "That's my job, my lord! Please put the couch down!" but I assured him it was just fine, I was happy to help!

I think I pulled a stitch. Mother Sophie is going to be very irate.

I went to the birthday jam party. It was fun, and raspberries are gifts of the gods. Jam however is currently on my list of things to shun.

It was fun to see so many serious people eating so much jam though!

I have no idea what you're all on about. What is this about ladies breaking into the granaries? Are you bored? Do you need more to do? I can find more things for everyone to do!

History is strange lens through which to view the world. It is, at times, enlightening, but it can also be used to twist a narrative to one's view of the world. I worry about that, about the things I don't know. The things I can't challenge the veracity of.

I know you're reading this, for some reason. Frankly it baffles me that anyone would be interested enough to read my whites at all, let alone enough to leave comments to the same.

I will say this: when I consider the gods, when I pray to them, I don't do it with an expectation that I will get something in return. Sometimes, I reach a clarity of thought that allows me to get past whatever quandary I am in. But I do not expect a breadbasket to appear, nor for the entirety of my problems to be solved in an instant.

I remember the moment I understood that: when I read the Declaration of Frailty and Fate: "Men are frail and imperfect children of the gods, but our faults and successes are our own."

As I read the white journals I often wonder who people really are.

I think that some are most certainly more deep and complex than they realize, or perhaps lead on.

One can be proud of where one comes from without allowing it to distract from progress and prosperity. One can respect traditions and honor their beliefs without jeopardizing livelihood and growth.

I am very grateful to Marquessa Reigna, Sister Sophie, Rukhnis, Lady Thea and all of the physicians and apothecaries for their tireless efforts in combating the illness responsible for the quarantine. The story of the survivors of that wreck has remained tragic to the last chapter, but it doesn't diminish the labor and sacrifice of Arvum's greatest healers.

I have returned to Arx, and all I can see, all I can hear is change. It permeates the city. It is the spoken and unspoken constant in every conversation. I see it wherever I look, in whoever I meet. In the city's skyline, in the overcrowded boroughs. In myself, when I see my reflection.

We can debate the merits of change, we can rail against it, we can embrace it. None of that matters, because change marches on whatever we may wish to do.

I have returned to Arx as a changed woman, to a place that is no longer the place that I left.

I have gotten behind on quite a few things, but with spring in the air, so too does it seem my lethargy and time be returning to life. After I complete the commissions I've committed to as of this point, I think I am going to take a hiatus from them to work on a project that will need all of my attention. Though I may do some idle shop stocking when my mind needs to refocus.

Relationship Note on Mabelle

I met my husband's paramour tonight! I knew about HER but she evidently didn't know about ME which elicited quite an odd reaction from her. I don't know why she wouldn't know that Edward is married, but here we are.

This woman was rendered mute by my appearance and I do not understand her appeal. Happily, if Edward is distracted, I may form my own bonds to others or spend more time in my lab. So it's a net win.

Such a happy evening! Nothing fills my heart more than the spectacle of my friends having good, clean fun. Well. Perhaps it was not that clean.

I am in awe of the many friends who came to celebrate with me and upon realizing how many have entered my heart since I reached the city. You are all precious to me! Thank you for taking the time to honour me, for having fun, for the gifts and the laughs.

Congratulations to Countess Mikani for having the prettiest cookie in all the lands and to Lord Cahal to having the worst design, but they are both winners! Art is Art!

Enjoy your sweet week-end as you have made mine!

I will be giving way lily plants at the gathering I am planning at the Lodge. I am going to be opening the lily garden in honor of Archduchess Eleyna my previous patron now that it is spring. We will also be praying to Petrichor, showing our gratitude and asking for help the plants and land there. I have high hopes that it will go well.
