My dear sir,
You were always so very kind and polite to me. Your courtesy was far beyond others of your ilk. It seemed to come from your very being, not merely a nod to propriety or learned behaviors. You worried so at doing the right thing and being dutiful to your House and your honour. You were given such a bad turn and yet you still tried to rise.
When you spoke of your terrible loss, my heart was very saddened, and to be true, I was afraid for you. When you said you would avenge your family's death I knew such words would not be turned from and that in this the dangers were very real. And yet, you were so determined to do right by them.
And now, so it seems you have tried to show honor in keeping your word, and so it seems the worst has happened as feared.
I will miss our talks and your charming cheer even when you felt darkest. I will miss how earnest you were in trying to do right. I will miss that desire to truly become a good and worthy knight. The love of your family and House and the hope of doing great things.
I fear we have lost something as a compact in this. That such promise was snuffed out by things so very unnecessary that drove a young man to seek his death far too soon. I pray all the circumstances that drove you to this terrible end never happen again. For if so, then we have failed in our own nobility and chivalry and it is we who are, in truth, dishonored. And, with all that we must face and do as a city and realm, I pray that this will not be so.

Oh. My. Goodness. Floofkins is SO CUTE. Princess Caith asked if I preferred kittens or puppies, and I said kittens, naturally, thinking of how sly and sleek they grow to be... but Floofkins is just a big ball of fluff, and I love him!

I really do intensely dislike the cold of an Arxian winter. If nothing else this experience has served to remind me why I usually spend them holed up in my pleasantly warm and comfortable room. Still: the Tournament of Thorns qualifiers seem to be going well -- I've had a lot of interest, and a lot of compliments to my painting, which I admit I'm not adverse to. It's also been nice to see a lot of faces I normally don't get to see while I'm hiding away.
The pleasure on people's faces when they figure out the clue of it all is entirely worth the cold.
...Mostly worth it.

It occurs to me that some think of me as queer or not entirely in touch with reality as a result of speaking openly of things they have been raised to think of as tales.
It makes me wonder if these people think the queen just has a birth defect of ears shaped like no human's. If they only follow ten gods still instead of the three that were rediscovered.

You know, I am not going to lie. I was actually coming to take a look at the people who are spouting off about magic and what have you and ran into this.
My reality when I came to Arx properly. I was the opposite, I didn't really think much of myself and looked over at this city and would just think. "I wonder how much money I can make before I end up a cripple or dead?" As my time here has gone onwards, the city properly has been a fairly constant offer of opportunity and actually having friends and genuine connections with people and that within itself is just precious.
I remember seeing you cry as you took off from the explorers hall the other day and reading your entry makes me think a bit more about you. If you're worried about what you're becoming need to keep in mind. You can always be better if you just try. The effort needed to be better is likely hard but you have people who do support you. But to start on that path it's up to you and if you want to be more like how you used to be? I think you'd be better off if you did it.
If you're still at the point of worrying what you've become. You still have time. Make the most out of it.

With the help of Countess Mikani Byrne, I tried to return the things from the chests to the Eurusi who are recovering in the Saving Grace.
They wanted nothing to do with the things, or even compensation for them, due to the fact that the slavers were the owners of them. I tried though.

Spring is on the way. Just a few more days. That is what I tell my two year old twins with cold reddened cheeks and runny noses, lost gloves and an array of outgrown boots into which they have stuffed plushie paws. And plushies, and blocks, and my lost hairpins. I wondered where those had gone. They are at the age where they do not remember last spring. I'll enjoy the coming change of season even more as I share it with them.

For me it has been a quiet week, working to help my family with various projects and grumbling about all the clothing I am not fitting into any more.
I suppose I should take advantage and have the old clothing given away or taken apart, so I can get new. Preferably in a few months, so it will last. In the meantime, laces and lots of material are my friends
