Hearing the beauty and passion with which Count Inverno has described Caina, I hope to see it someday for myself.

Relationship Note on Reese

I should like to publicly commend our General, Princess Reese, for demonstrating her true honor as a warrior by refusing to fight in a contest that someone would attempt to dilute the Glorian purity of this way. Truly, it is a winner's spirit she demonstrates by refusing to sully her name with such antics. I am proud of her for taking the only honorable course once such underhanded dealings were brought to her attention.

None greater!

Relationship Note on Eddard

I got this.
We got this.
WE got this.

I'm already on it.
Stay with me.

In the pitch black, no light but one dwells.
Eyes clench tight against its brilliance.
The dark squeezes against the light, trying to snuff it out.
The light shines all the brighter, becoming smaller and smaller.
Finally, before it vanishes altogether, the bright spark blinds.
In the mind, a burned image is all that remains.
The last memory of the once-living.

I was concerned when we left for the Oathlands. I had heard little. I was not sure if the houses of the Oathlands would answer my call. Would it be the Templars alone with the forces of Blackram, Crimson Blades and the Order of the Eastern Light, as well as the forces of Redrain blocking the enemy's retreat to the north? It turned into a lesson to me on doubt - I should trust more in people. For waiting for us in the fields north of Sanctum for the march were men and women by the thousand. What started as a force of a bit more than 3000 or 4000 Templars and allies turned into a host in the tens of thousands.

Two tribes who served our enemy, who were part of attacks seeking to pit house against house and Compact against shav, are destroyed. The redoubt of a warlord who long ago betrayed our compact for the life of the abandoned is destroyed.

I must thank the houses of the Oathlands, in particular House Blackram and House Laurent. I must thank Princess Marian of House Redrain for their work ensuring our enemy could not escape. Princess Sorrell and Sparte of the Order of the Eastern Light, whose forces travelled a great distance to engage on a righteous cause. I must also thank Dame Ida, who as well as being one of the most expert smiths I can think of, is a true ally of the Faith Militant and whose work is as though truly blessed by Gloria and Jayus themselves in its craftsmanship and its strength against those who have turned from the Gods.

It has certainly been an interesting couple of weeks.

As things settle, if they ever really manage to settle, I've a commission to follow up on and hope to restock the shop. I have a few themes I've been toying with, but we'll see if they work out on the anvil. Another small project that is proving more difficult as well, but we will see what comes of that.

There's a certain level of pride one feels when you're at the ground floor of change. As infrastructure efforts ramp up for House Thrax, I can not help but marvel at all that needs to be done to prepare for thralldom's abolition. While seven years seems like such a long time, I am sure it will pass swiftly with all that's needed. While houses have been slow to reach out to me for assistance. I am sure in a few months, I shall be cursing at all the activities needed as the Minister of Infrastructure to Thrax, as well as my own obligations to my people as baroness.

A friend recently asked me when I'll have time to find a husband. I couldn't help but laugh, because I have no idea. Perhaps in time, I'll find a good partner, one that shall join my vision on making Blackshore Isle successful. Until that day, I shall focus on rebuilding my lands and serving those who reside in the Mourning Isles.

Greeting Compact,

I dropped out of the Grand Melee. I am grateful to those who encouraged me to join and wished to see me fight. The reason I am dropping out is that I decided it would be more honorable to drop out than to fight for the honor of my family.

The reason why is that I been told that some are planning to defend me in the Grand Melee in order to help me win such. While I am very flattered that some wish to see me win and wish aid me, I do not feel it would be honorable to fight the melee under those circumstances.

I wish everyone good luck and that Gloria is with them. I hope to watch at least some of the melee and I am excited to see this epic duel.

Relationship Note on Jasher

An amicable escort, though I regret that it resulted in such a headache. Good thing I knew just what to do to ease that. Mistress Valerie's pouches of herbs did the job nicely. I expect that won't be the first headache I give Prince Jasher, so will have to add shopping for more to my already lengthy to-do list.

Hah! I beat the crowd to Josie's shop and bought some nice jewelry, as a gift to someone.

I walk in the forests and take in the acrid perfume while the breeze flits through arms holding the sky up, sending leaves to crunch underfoot.

How bright and lively the forests burn and dance with gowns and tresses of russets and sepias. Tresses of bright gamboge, crimson and carmine with lurid crowns majestic.

While silent pine sentinels stand ready with their cloaks of evergreen.

Relationship Note on Peri

We were not the best, but neither were we the worst. I think we managed to stay right in the middle when it came down to it. However, regardless of the results, I found the evening enjoyable with a clever companion who's sharp eye allowed me to find a few things in the underwater scavenger hunt. I hope that she didn't mind that my swimming was not on par to Princess Reese. No one came close to her amazing aquatic tactics.

Kudos to Princess Valencia and Princess Liara for their clever riddles and warm soothing pools. The Autumn Pool Party shall be an event that I will fondly remember.

Well the research project that I was heading up returned interesting results just.. apparently I am no good at this. It was a flop. I wanted to know who built the great stone docks of Arx and now I have something about Cairn Valardin!

I suppose I'll be reaching out to the Scholars next, as I probably should have in the beginning.

Relationship Note on Simone

Time spent with my cousin Simone is always enjoyable. She is my cousin, but we are as close as siblings. (And, given the tempestuous relationship between some siblings, some might say even closer than that.)

Her son Myrddin is progressing well in his chivalry lessons. He thinks they are swordsmanship lessons, but the lessons of sportsmanship and honor are more important and his work with his wooden blade. And Matilda the newest arrival is simply darling. I will never have children of my own, but I hope to leave my mark on the next generation through my "nephew" and "niece."

The work that Princesses Valencia and Kiara have done in the Golden Hart's new stone pool is quite something.

Such a lovely morning with fine company. A worthy second place to Team Kaia-Thea, apologies for not thinking of better chants from the sidelines.
