After much thought, I have decided to join the Tournament of Roses.
I do not expect to win considering how many absolutely amazing warriors there will be at such.

A Taste of Arx finished up last night with a grand finale ball that could not have been more perfect! It truly was a fantastic week and I want to thank each and every person who came out to partake in the food, drink, songs, and contests that went on throughout the city. I hope people learned something new and met new people and forged new friendships and trade agreements! I want to especially thank my fellow hosts: Princess Berenice, Princess Elgana, Countess Carita and Duke Cristoph for planning and managing and running things in their Wards. I absolutely could not have done this on my own and their brilliance made the whole week fly by in a wonderful blur! The Highlords ought also to be thanked for sending each one my way. And the King, of course, for loaning us the palace for the last party. It was a brilliant, brilliant week and a fantastic night and my feet still hurt and I'm utterly exhausted.

Caravans!
I have a couple on the roads now - some delivering goods to Cascade Springs and my new trading house there, and then some to make initial investments in my new venture in Iasu. I worry about them - I've done what I can to protect the factors who guide the caravans, plotted out the safest, fastest routes I know, and all of that. But the instability throughout the Compact definitely has an impact.
On the other hand, it means that if you can get your goods through, profit is pretty much assured. It's not the way I'd prefer to reduce local competition, I admit, but things are what they are. I wish I were on the road with them, in some ways. Both because I fret over their safety like a mother hen, but also because the road is a beautiful place. So is Arx! But things are simpler on the road, just a few companions and a winding track that leads through quite a lot of wilderness before you. You never quite know what you'll face on the road, but you always know what you have to face it with.
The city is more complex, both externally, and internally.

Decided to take some time and attend the taste of Valardin recently. Competed in the jousting, though I was ousted in the first round by our beloved Ribbons. If I ever fear my ego growing too large, I need only face this pink whirlwind to remind myself that there is a lot of work still to be done.
