Relationship Note on Duarte

Count Duarte commissioned me for some large sculptures honouring Gild and Vellichor, to be placed in the Crossroads Casino. Sculpting is far more of a hobby of mine than a serious profession - it's just a different way of expression altogether - but I really enjoy the opportunities I get to push away the silks and leathers and work with wood and stone instead.

The sculptures were far larger than anything I've built in the past, but the Count provided more than enough inspiration with the themes he desired. I'm proud of the work I did, and I look forward to seeing my art in the Crossroads Casino when I go and visit.

Oh, Gods, it was SO nice to go out and see old friends again...
Why am I not going out to see them EVERY single day?
WHY?

Relationship Note on Oliver

I am beyond pleased that you enjoyed the gift, Oliver, and overjoyed that soon you will be able to use it! Although I'm told there might be need for two of them, so still a chance to make your own!

You heard it here, dear Ida, you made an excellent choice! Going to save a copy of that one for future use, scholar, if you don't mind?

My first lesson in languages was quite the success, though it seems that my accent may well get in my way. I shall have to practice my pronunciation most diligently. And to think all that time my parents and my tutors spent 'teaching' me to speak without the accents of the crew.

While I was shopping in the Market, I met a woman with a wolf pup who stopped to chat about history. I went to look around the Hall of Heroes afterwards and was immersed in the story of the city. Why hadn't I visited here before?

The picnic is almost there and I still have so many things to prepare!
I'm quite excited about it.

I admit I was more than a little floored to have done so well in the writing contest, and against such amazing writers as well. I am not the least bit surprised, with her immense talent, that Princess Sabella came in first and it is an incredible honor to come in second.

A huge thank you to Lady Monique for this incredible opportunity, it gave me courage to write the first book I had ever put quill to paper on.

And a huge thank you to everyone who read these pieces, every reader is critically important, to this author anyway. Perhaps I shall write again to help fund the many charitable projects around Arx and Arvum at large.

Thank you all.

Relationship Note on Gerard

I woke up the other morning and almost fell over the new addition in our bedroom. To say I wasn't expecting what was gifted to us is very much an understatement. But the bassinet looks good in the room (especially now that I've moved it further from my side of the bed). It's almost as if it has always belonged there.

So thanks to you, Sir Gerard, for making mine and Joscelin's little dream more of a little reality. Ida did a good thing, choosing you.

I would like to congratulate the winners of the Gilded Page Writing Contest!

First place went to Princess Sabella Grayson for her epic two-part series, "The Princess Who Never Smiled."

Second place was won by Princess Coraline Thrax, for her cautionary tale, "The Journey of One."

Third place went to Master Derovai Voss, for his saucy endeavor, "A Book of Excellent Poems about Not-So-Excellent People."

Thank you to all the entrants! Each work was sublime in its own way, and I appreciate greatly your contribution to culture in this city and congratulate you on a job well done.

Relationship Note on Jhond

Jhond is a whisper. He has proven to be a very valuable ally and I should say a good friend. He has become a rather good go-between for myself and the elite of the city. I am not exactly the most proper of people and he can help me from overly offending the thin skinned of Arx.

You know, sometimes when we seek our answers, all we find is more unanswered questions. Still, with the answers that I have found, I am quite excited, yet apprehensive to learn more. One thing is certain, this new adventure in my life is forcing me to meet new people. In some ways this is good, I suppose. It at least makes me rise up and out of the sludges of the boroughs. My friend Jhond tells me I should make myself more presentable so some of these new people will respect myself more. What's wrong with blood-stained leathers? Ha! Silly silks and their propriety.

One more custom fragrance unleashed upon the world. Ol' Jac'll have the entire bloody city smellin' of roses soon enough, a welcome change from the rampant bullshite stinkin' up the streets, I'd say.

I just completed the largest sculpture I have ever attempted. it has been a long labor, but it is a perfect fit for my vision. i had no models for it specifically but instead drew from my memories of others as well as myself... I cannot help but wonder who will see themselves in it.
