Oh, I should probably update my will. I think my previous will might be incorrected and contradictory. Everything I own goes to my sister, Bashira, unless she herself is also dead, then my weapons and armor are to be given to The Champions guild to be given in out a lottery and the rest of my possessions are to be donated The Liberators to be given out to freeded and escaped Shavs in need. My house is to be sold and the profits donated to The Liberators.

Two weeks in and I still wake up every morning expecting to find out that it's all a dream. I honestly can't imagine being happier in my life than I am every morning when I find out that it was not. That this is real and this is my life and it is everything I could have hoped for and more. Each day Sabella does something to make me realize how very lucky I am not only to have her as my wife, but to have her in my life at all. I truly do love her.

Three days ago, I said goodbye to Bo, my wolfhound.
Every time I think about him I get a heavy feeling in my chest and that's why it's taken me this long to write about his last day. Now that he is gone, there is a void in my life that seems impossible to fill. He was my hunting partner. He was my companion during chore time at the stables. He was my eyes when I was out on horseback. He was with me when I left Stormwall, and he stayed with me until he took his last breath. I never knew how attached I truly was until I felt his absence.
BoBo dog, you are dearly missed. Whistlewil will take care of you now.

I was told today that Harlequin's History of Arx wasn't worth very much. I clearly didn't put much effort into it, so it wasn't worth trading for. That instead, the book I wanted to trade for, would be sold with a very expensive price tag.
I suppose that is how things go here in Arx. And who am I to resist?
As such, I will be selling a copy of my Harlequin's History of Arx Volume 3 for 50,000 silver.
But, oh right, I am me! So I'll also be giving away one copy of the entire series (Volume 1, 2, and 3) for anyone who writes me and explain why they cannot afford nice things.
Warning to anyone who writes: Volume 3 isn't worth very much. I didn't put much effort into it.

Okay, I don't know what the 'Paths' say, but from what I've seen, what I've got to say isn't entirely contradictory. One of them can butt in and yell at me if they feel like. The Faith will do what it likes, but this 'it's like fealty to a lord' argument is getting downright annoying.
You have a fealty to one lord, true, but you owe your respect and deference to many different types of nobility depending on your status, don't you? And owing fealty to a lord doesn't stop you worshiping the Pantheon, and worshiping the Pantheon doesn't stop you respecting the Faith's various archlectors and disciples and legates, and owing fealty to a lord doesn't mean you don't bow before your king. And none of this stops you working your various jobs or providing for your families. These are all worships and honors and responsibilities and they take up a whole bunch of your time and not one of them seems strange or unusual or in the way of any of the others. Godsworn give up some of that to dedicate more time to the gods, it's true, but even they acknowledge a hierarchy because the Faith has more ranks and divisions and orders than I care to recite.
The fundamental misunderstanding is this: we don't think spirits and gods are the same damn thing, they are not approached the same way, they are not worshiped like you worship the Pantheon, there is no 'Faith' for spirits, there are no churches for spirits, and all Paths are, are some very vague agreements on how to deal with broad aspects of shamanism from hundreds of different traditions that sprung up over thousands of years. This is not a comparison of two 'lords', this is more like someone claiming I'm being disloyal to the King because I work for Audric's sellsword company.
Now, worrying about someone's shamanistic leanings bleeding into what they teach about the Faith, and saying 'no discipleship' because of that, fine, whatever, that was the original reason given (that and a bunch of shit about new prodigals potentially undermining the fabric of society, of course). I think it's a shit way to treat your people, but you're going to do what you're going to do and I don't have any personal stake in this. But if this argument is going to keep flaring up can we please stop with this dumb nonsense comparison to fealties? Especially since the Faith would never, ever stand for the Spirit Walkers making that argument to do the same in reverse for leaders among their number.

Finally managed to get the shop open though it will be some time until I get business. I am very excited to help the city with their needs. Also, I made it into the society of Explorers. Only just but It happened and I am glad.

You place it as bigoted and attack the Faith for its choice, Duchess, yet I notice you do not accept vassals who are also sworn to other lords. Prince Darren does not accept knights who are also sworn to Thrax or to Grayson. We expect those who serve the Faith to believe the words of the Faith. We accept people from all fealties, we do not demand obedience over other temporal lords except from our Godsworn. We accommodate everyone from the liberals of the Lyceum to the most strident Oathlander. And all we ask is that they believe in the Faith in order to represent us. The Faith has no place for any others raised to the level of the Gods, raised to the level of worship. Yes. How dastardly we are.

And so a Caraval is built. The order placed and in a months time, New Hope worked and from it's dock was birthed the latest vessel in Thrax's grand navy. She has yet to be named, the honour going to the Baroness and her people as a thanks for their hard work and dedication.So much saved to bring this to fruition. A way to more swiftly move the people of our Isles when it is needed. To bring supplies and other necessities as we strive to help improve them. We will build another soon, and then another.
And we saw another mark in the history of it's people. Coraline. Made a Knight of Thrax. Knee deep in water she stood and dipped beneath the frigid waves by her High Lord. From the water she rose with a stronger purpose. One that I can do nothing but help to foster and kindle. She is the first of what I hope will be many. So many.
Perhaps one day my son will bear that title as well. To serve Thrax and the Isles, as his sister will.

So many things fly off shelves, orders make their way in and out. Rattles. I made rattles. Something that I confess I have never made and I hope that I have risen to the task by doing so. To shape and mold the silver till it resembled what they should. To work the engraving to place their names on it. It makes me think I should have made one for my own children.
