Little one,

While I have every confidence that you will be quite possibly the most beautiful infant to have ever been born, I'm quite cross with you for preventing me from being able to assist the Crown in an important and necessary task. To that end, I would very much appreciate it if in turn you opt to not be too difficult about it when the time comes to vacate your current residence.

Love,
Your Mama

I am not a prince who favors dialogue in White Journals. Personal conversation (as opposed to missives) is the best way to speak to someone, a way to speak to them and show your true thoughts on the matter, as well as read the other person's emotions and thoughts on the matter - thus managing to have a feedback of information which is without par. However, I do consider it important that I address a few matters following the Grayson Military Meeting, which would be impossible to handle in person due to the crowded quorum we received that day.

First of all, I have deep appreciation for the thoughts and debates of everyone who participated in it, at least from what I saw while I was there -- which mostly was focused on the topic of the Grayson expedition to the Grey Forest. I am content that the idea behind the expedition was understood, and I believe that the emphasis the speakers put on certain themes will pressure us positively to keep them in mind. That is good.

Second, thank you to those who have openly voiced their approval for the expedition and those who have offered their help. With time, we will announce each and every one of them, but the amount of missives offering for help has been overwhelming and I have just gotten to the point where I have answered all of them, for now. It is my hope that those who want to help will be able to help in a way.

Third, I reinstante my interest for making sure that we reach an agreement with the Shav'Arvani. This is not a military procedure but an entirely diplomatic one -- and while I cannot make promises, because I cannot predict the future, I assure the reader of this document that it will be the concept in my mind for the duration of the planning, execution and evaluation of it.

Finally, I want to reflect on a matter which was brought to me: failure. Failure is being unable to meet one's expectations -- that is my definition of it. I do not enjoy failing, thus why I try to plan everything accordingly and make sure that my plans are easily moldable to changing circumstances. Expectations too must be set in a moldable way. My expectations for this mission are not to convert the Shav'Arvani to the Compact nor to return with an alliance. My expectations for this mission are to take advantage of a possibility and try our best to see how it turns out -- to try our bests at helping others know the situation which we have managed to unveil which now threatens our realm again and investigate if there is any way we may negotiate common grounds. Thus, if we convince no one, we have not failed. We tried our best and returned with nothing. With that information, we can make a new plan, and we can say that we tried this avenue in the past-- at least. Or in the best case scenario we return with a new ally, an ally which might help us face the threats to come.

To the Faithful Reader:

Today I threw dumplings at a cat and was bitten by a small weasel. This was, I am shamed to admit, the high point of my day thus far. Be kind to your cats and your weasels, children of the Faith, for they have sharp teeth and can find out where you sleep.

But I will admit, I was in the wrong, and this is all my fault, as usual. I wish I could do better.

Relationship Note on Aiden

You might hate me, but I can't change my views on certain things. Believe what you will. I apologize for having said it in the manner I did in public. That said my sincerest apologies to you and your family. Aside from that though, I am sad that we will likely never be friends again. Perhaps the divide of social class is much more than I thought when I came to the city. I just don't understand certain ways of thinking. I don't understand land politics, or any of that. Sorry.

The Lady is a wonder. And she'd make an excellent thief. Not that I'd considered asking her to run away with me to the Greenmarch for a life of banditry together... Not more than all night, at least.

Relationship Note on Ailith

It's rare I get along with anyone in the faith but the Serpah and I get along perfectly. She's logical and level headed and was a soldier before she went into service to the Crown.

Aaand there it is. That's why.

I'll be frank, I planned to attend the Grayson meeting and listen only. I had no intention to speak. I expected something far different than what happened. On the topic of the Abandoned, my expectations were, and have always been, far below what was suggested last night as far as action, let alone that there would already be a plan in the works along the lines of something like this. If I had known in advance about some of the major motivation behind those patrols before this meeting? I would have expected the worst. I'd have still attended, but I'd have shown up...angrier, certainly.

Obviously, words, even these kinds of words, are cheap. Actions are what matter. What happens when good intentions run up against resistance is what matters. What happens when all of this gets hard and they get pushback from their own people is what matters. But it's so different from everything I've seen and come to expect so far that I have to give credit where it's due. So I'll give them this, without reserve. My expectations have been shattered in the best way possible. That doesn't happen often, and never before when it comes to this. So, okay, Grayson. Now. Go, prove you mean it.

Relationship Note on Calarian

My cousin Calarian is quite amazing.

His way with words is powerful, but so is his wisdom, his fearlessness and his eagerness to act.

I am honored that he is helping me hold in the fundraise for the Thrax. I wouldn't have done this nearly so well without him.

I am glad that Prince Calarian is my cousin. I hope he never marries out of the family!

The Grayson Military Meeting was in my opinion a great success.

There was some passionate differences of opinion, but such is to be expected.

I don't want to silence the voices of any of our family, fealty, vassals and allies.

We fight against slavey and we are free, including free to speak our thoughts.

This lead to a loud and spirited meeting. I don't consider it a bad thing, especially since
these words will lead to action.

We will act.

The mock battle that I ran was not what I expected to run, but it worked none the less.

Princess Lou was very fierce and stood for a long time. I am proud to call her my sister.

Lady Monique made quite the fun damsel and put a lot of passion into her role.

Lord Wash, as the commander king, was great and had great ideas.

Master Sparte was his solid self, until he darted off, but that added to the feel of the battle.

Lord Ian had some bravery when he stepped in mid fight with Prince Luca and Prince Antonio still standing.

Prince Antonio sure can fight! I didn't realize how he good he is.

Prince Luca was great, of course, he always is. Great at combat and great at entertaining as well.
Sometimes it is frustrating though. I would have liked to have beat him. Next time!

Lord Corban got ganged up early on by are team. He stood up much longer than i would have thought, but also had grace and dignity about the entire game, even when he was such a target.

Was a bit surprised at the response to the meeting last night with everyone and it was a joy to be around everyone. Hopefully with all the back and forth talk, we can come to common ground and move forward with what we have to do on this new initiative.

Construction on the great hall at Domus Igniseri is completed. Finally. Now to plan the wine tasting that will the debut event within the hall. I've tasked Lucita with finding entertainment for the evening, and hope that she can find other talented people like herself to mingle and make friends with. I fear she's looking to this task as more a chore than anything else; but I have complete confidence in her abilities to complete it.

The days continue, and I still miss my brothers' quite fiercely....

I believe that sometimes having too many voices in one room tends to drown out the good ideas and we're left with the loudest ones, but that meeting was more productive than I hoped for. And I have confidence in the path laid before us.

Relationship Note on Clover

These last few weeks have been a whirlwind. I don't think I was expecting... I have no idea what I was expecting, really. All I know is I no longer come home roaring drunk. Clover would probably object if I did anyway. And we don't both need to be falling over at every given opportunity. Just some of the more memorable ones.

One of these days that girl will trip and we will both fall in front of an oncoming wagon and be trampled to death.
