The open hours I held at the shrine the other day went over quite well. I did not expect such a crowd to show up. While the Templars, King's Own and various house guards didn't ask as many questions as I might have liked (all are welcome to ask, after all) a spirited discussion was had and everybody seemed to enjoy themselves. More discussion of balls and less of ghosts than I thought there'd be, but honestly that's all for the best.

The Bard's College anniversary party was simply amazing! Master Evaristo was so clever in pulling together a game that was both creative and also had people working together even if they had never met before that very moment! It was inspiring to see how many different ideas came out of that one prompt! Our team did not win, but I feel like we rather did since I pulled the Nightingale up onto the stage and she sang more beautifully than I have ever heard her--or anyone!--sing before!

Simply amazing!

I have been told twice today that people are concerned about me regarding my cats. You would think that they would have noticed my problem thirty cats ago.

I think I'm going to host a tea party for cats (humans welcome too I suppose). This will prove to everyone I don't have a problem.

Trade affected and the commons beginning to riot. I can understand and appreciate the reasons for such things. Hopefully we'll begin to see the effects of the relief that we're supplying reach those whom need it most.

Another year passes and we find ourselves caught up in further crazy things that just happen to Arvum... One would begin to wonder if the whole land is cursed. Still, I suppose it is good to know that we shall never suffer from boredom in this land.

For now, the peoples of the Cyrto Major and those living in the villages near Caer Morien can rest easy now that the vile Cult followers of the Drowned One have been dealt with. The town was protected and the assault to cut the head off of the evil was successful... even if it was a bit of a blur now.

Dame Morrighan Marin custom tailored the most perfect aeterna gown for my upcoming wedding with Tarik Morien. It is absolutely beautiful beyond words, and there is not enough thanks that I can give, but thank you so much!

Sparte Grayfellow kindly aided us in finally finding the perfect topaz (not far from Cascade Springs) for the intricate beading which brilliantly shines along every hem of the wedding dress, doing so as a favor returned for time worked with the Order of East Light and the Society of Explorers (in his stead).

Also, this is a shout out to Harlequin Evaristo for all his hard work to meticulously design our wedding rings of star iron with their cobalt/copper/silver weave. We will soon figure out the inscriptions text for secret messages along the inner band, and then those will be all done, too!

Thank you so much, my friends! I am beyond eager to soon marry my Morien man!

Relationship Note on Thea

No matter what else I may say regarding my sister being a torment and an annoyance, one thing will always remain true. She is truly one of the best there is as a person, a warrior and a friend.

In short she is a hero to me and will remain that way.

Until her next prank of course.

Relationship Note on Piccola

My cousin will soon learn that I have not yet been proven wrong in my assessment of others. However strange it must seem to her to be here, to be immersed in this tangle of threads, I expect she will quickly adapt and thrive. I don't choose carelessly and she has already begun to prove me correct.

Already preparing for my next journey, scholar. I swear to you my feet are rarely in the city. But I do know I enjoy keeping my mind occupied. I enjoy the busy. The distraction. What's that scholar? I work too much? No..I assure you I find time for the fun too. I promise.

Congratulations to the Bard's College on its five year anniversary. In celebration we were treated to a performance by the incomparable Nightingale as well as a timely bit of sport - and a fine Jayusian tribute - under Evaristo Arterius.

On a personal note, I accompanied an original song performed by Sorrel Thrax and Nina Autumndale, Bard of House Pravus. A worthy accomplishment, even if it is likely to everyone's benefit that it remains a fond memory from here forward.

Not too somber. Not too peacock. Something in between.

Something that reminds people he's a lawyer. But not that he's always nose first in books.

Well that's a challenge. Good.

Well I must say the lords Dariel and Samael Bisland have excellent taste for fashion. I'm honored to have such men of renown wear our clothes.

Married a year ago to the day, scholar. Blessed by each to wake and see the lioness and how we have grown in the Lyceum. For her dreams, goals and aspirations. They are mine, and mine hers as well.

At least at the anniversary, there weren't any archers. Dear wife.

It has been a tough few days ending in my decision to close the family shop for a day. Maybe more. At least the tedious work of moving things around and tucking things away to make space for the distribution efforts in the Lowers gives me a way to feel productive while thinking things through.

Change is hard, but needful. Fel suggested I look for someone to train to take over the shop. Within a day or so, Father Hamish spoke about life and opportunity. If I lessen my time at the shop, I know some of what I am making room for. It's worth letting go of my routines, so worth it.

The trouble isn't why, but how.

Sometimes, even the people you love best make you want to choke them in their sleep.

But because you would be lost without them you just stare broodily at them in silence while they are awake.

It is an unrelenting fact that even the most meticulous human design, executed with skill and daring, can be thwarted by merest whim of one trained in arts suppressed from our memory. How many heroes and geniuses have died for want of this power? How many enslaved or sacrificed so that one could acquire it, and stand above her peers?
