Relationship Note on Bree
Bree was the first person to welcome me back to Arx. After spending the better part of the last several years traveling and on my feet, it was a sudden and panic-inducing change of pace to be knocked on my ass after she asked me to spar.
I don't know if it's me that lost my edge first, or the highwaymen that were supposed to keep me on my toes, but it's obvious that I have a few things to learn from my brothers and sisters in arms.

I'm not sure why anyone would wish to entertain the reputation of being unreliable or devious. A snake (or spider, or whichever creature you wish to use for this metaphor) is most effective when hidden in the grass, not when everyone and their mother is aware of precisely where they are and the danger they pose.

But OF COURSE cheating is dishonourable and mean and all these awful things everyone else says about cheaters.
After all, if you're able to call them cheaters, then clearly they were not good enough to not be caught doing it in the first place!

I am thinking of getting a dog, to help me on the hunt and protect me from more dangerous beasts. It would need to be a creature who could thrive in both the forests and the city -- not just the city, but the crowded alleys of the Lowers. I would not want to condemn an animal to spending half its life in an environment it is not suited for.

I feel it has been a most productive week, and I am slowly starting to adjust to the many (many) duties as Pravus' new Crimson Shark. I begin to feel more at home in the city, and have found reasons to be getting out more. There is still so much about the city that I have yet to discover, so many people I have yet to meet -- and so many books yet to read.

The Thorn pre-games have gone well -- with about half as many people as tried failing to decipher my riddle and painting. Still, it's proven less difficult than Swift's challenge, and truly, the amount of people coming away from her test with stained hands is exceptionally entertaining.
With some excellent talent on offer, the Tournament of Thorns is going to be a very interesting affair this year, I have no doubt.
I'm still keeping a bottle of wine handy for when Marquis Athaur tries his hand again this year.

There are new roses in Tor. Our gardeners and apothecaries alike are always working on creating a new breeds for various reasons; weather, terrain, etc. But when they sprout out of no where and leave those who tend the gardens just as curious, well sometimes we cannot question how they came to being but rather allow nature to take its course.

I've been spending more time in Master Felix's shop lately! I've never met a more patient man. Other than my father. Not to say Felix is like my father. That's just weird! Just that he answers my questions with patients and debates with me and explains things to me in ways I get!

Went to the presentation of the Crown at the Shrine of the Queen of Endings. It was less eventful than I thought it might be. The Templars were there to ensure of that.
