I've not really been sad before but for some reason I have been recently. I wonder if most people feel like this, I imagine most do at some point. I'll definitely be glad to get past this though. I think I shall need to do something reckless to get out of it but I have not decided what.

Relationship Note on Sabella

A true friend, golden-hearted and warm as the sun. I'll always be thankful for her endless support and kindness. If only I could still be Princess Sabella's protege, but alas, I cannot. Still, I'm very happy for the lucky souls who get to enjoy her patronage in the future. They will not be disappointed!

The Black and White ball was the first I ever attended. Back in the village, we had parties, but nothing ever so grand. I'd only ever heard stories and now me... not only invited, but playing games and dancing with nobles.

And receiving invite from the Queen to discuss a possible commission.

I keep fearing I may wake up and find myself late for my daily chores, Absalom grumbling at me over his tea.

I am astounded that so many seem to be against the strengthening of our Compact and elevation of our Peers and showing of our strength in these trying times, and yet there is such a dearth pf commentary on foreign invaders coming in, leading attacks on our people and setting up to play house on our lawn. More than that even, I remember a time not too long ago when there was actually talk of gifting these people an embassy which would grant them sovereign territory in our capital. I will never comprehend some people's priorities.

My wife is the most beautiful Argento to have ever lived and I am fortunate to be joined in holy matrimony with such a gem.
Lady Monique Greenmarch's wedding gift was nothing short of amazing. Thank you so much for the dress, it fits like a glove and I must say the color is one of my favorites.

For any and all who had bells stolen or outfits ruined you have my sincerest apologies.

Our Duchess was so gracious in designing our dresses for the occasion. There has been enough interest in her work, paid through compliments, that I have recommended she take commissions. Her taste is impeccable.

Thank you to all my beautiful cousins for attending and making this evening special. Sabrina, my lovely sister, you are not forgotten. Your words were so kind and encouraging. I will endeavor to be worthy of the affection and love from you all. My blood. My wife. My friends and allies.

I wonder what the thoughts are going through the minds of the farmers and farmhands who grew the grapes and tended to them. That spent the season picking them and the vintners who worked hard to see them crushed just so and the recipe carefully followed to ensure the finest bottles were produced when they were done fermenting.

Finding out that the years worth of their hard work went to fill a pool for people to play in.

I'll be stocking up my shops bottles for when I have guests in the forge with fine bottles of Lenosian red. That way I know it's not rebottled pool wine.

Relationship Note on Brigida

I was invited to join the Lodge of Petrichor by Blessed Brigida. She's tough woman, but kind and good once you get past the first scoldings and menacing taps from her staff.

Though I've only been in Arx a week now, it's beginning to feel like a place to call my second home. The Lodge grounds are truly beautiful. Now to remember to give thanks to Petrichor for any successful hunt!

Illness has a way of making children of us all.

I found myself incredibly ill earlier this week, something I've had the fortune not to experience on such a scale in several years. Difficult to feel so at odds with the identity I've crafted for myself as a fighter whilst feeling so feverish that I could scarce sleep.

My gratitude to the help of a good friend in sending some mercies my way to check in, and my deepest thanks to those that practice at potion and poultice - I daresay without them, I'd have even more scars than I have now.

I saw Lord Kedehern headbutt a war goat in the cellar of an abandoned Lycene manse. Some other things happened as well, but I think that was the most memorable event of the expedition.

For the record, the picnic basket was rescued with only minor spoilage and I found the melon I'd left for the swimmers in our party untouched, but surrounded by crabs. I gave them some bread. I'm not entirely sure what crabs eat, but that seemed fair recompense for taking the melon away.

All in all, a successful first expedition. The others found papers I was able to review and judge legal binding so the claim could be confirmed. I'll donate the reward to the Explorers but not the pearl I found. I'm going to have that made into something shiny to commemorate the outing.

You lead, I shall follow!

Onward to the fun!

More swimming! More rescuing poor shavs from evil pirates!

We can be the Trio of... something. We need a grand name.

There are only moments. Reminders.

Most things are destined to slip through your fingers. No matter how gently or lightly held.

That what catches is precious and rare.

It is most often not noticed in time.

It was the most beautiful wedding. It was a night I will never forget even though I have forgotten parts of it. I still smell of wine. It's a heady thing.

Please lets go back!

It was like a breath of fresh air. I forgot how much I love exploring. Even if dreadful moths live in scanty lycene panties.

Plus, Lady Mikani said something about worshipping alcohol. Or maybe spirits. I'm pretty sure she meant alcohol. I think that alone needs further investigation.

I recall the first time, in my younger, rasher years when I spent time aboard The Dove out at sea. I remember sitting on the deck in that period where we were far enough not to see anything but water in every direction. Only clouds and sun and at night a dizzy, endless ocean of stars above.

My mind drifts back to those days and nights often, when the world seemed to have shrunk down to just that sturdy ship and her crew, everything else lapsed away and mattering no longer.

There is so much dark water behind us, and so much more ahead of us, it is easy to be paralyzed by worry over what might be of what may lurk below the waves. I remind myself to look up, for the gods have painted a map for us in the heavens, if only we choose to follow it.

Relationship Note on Mikani

I have had the privilege of going on an expedition, in the Lyceum, with my fellow Explorers. It was a delightful event, really, where my fighting skills were not really needed. We got to swim in the warm waters, diving for treasurer. We met interesting shavs, turned prodigals, and even brought them home with us! We managed to avoid the pirates lurking about, but we can go back and have at them if the owner cares for us to.

In the meantime, I've got a new employee to manage. Arrigo, aka Gio, the prodigal. Brenlin is likely to show him the ropes, but he'll likely be a guard for me. The Rubino-Zaffria guards have been a delight to have to follow me about, but Arrigo may be more appreciative of the work.

There was talk of how I could honeymoon there... Well, not -serious- talk.

Ladies, we should go swimming again soon! Find us a new derpy dolphin and such!

Tonight is the scavenger hunt! I do believe I have everything in order and hope that people have as much fun in playing the game as I had in creating it. And I have prizes! It should be an incredibly fun night out and I hope that the people of Arx welcome all the newcomers that will be going in and out of places they may have walked by a thousand times but never truly seen!

It's going to be a fantastic night!

Valentina Pravus, Crimson Shark of Setarco and Dowager Duchess of Setarco, has been wed to Arianna Pravus, the First Knight of Setarco.

It was a glorious ceremony where commoners and nobles alike mingled, feasted, drank, and danced.

There was a pool filled not with water, but red wine, which many decadently swam in. Some even drank from it.

Grabriella was thrown into it. Really, it wasn't a party until then, anyway.

Let it henceforth be known that when you attend a Pravosi wedding and stand near a pool filled with wine, it should be in an outfit you do not care for.

As an aside that has nothing to do with anything... guard your bells well. There are drunken bell thieves in Setarco.

It's been ten days since the birth of my daughter and it's been fifteen since Stormwall's newest port was constructed. We have given it the name Port Eirlys, in honor of Lady Eirlys Greenmarch, who stood valiantly and gave her life on the shores of Stormwall. The construction was no small feat as several Houses and allies lent their expertise, time, and resources to give Stormwall its new port and fortress (or 'portress' as my husband proudly calls it).

I wish to thank House Seliki for its assistance and for the use of its Engineering Corps throughout this project. Count Orrin and Lady Peri helped oversee several parts of the project as they, too, had previously constructed their own port and fortress upon their coastline. Duke Gabriel Bisland and Marquis Rymarr Deepwood offered invaluable assistance through economic and military resources, and the Princess Mother Drea Redrain gave blessings through ceremony to the gods and spirits that watched over the project from start to finish.

Messere Sparte Grayfellow documented the progression of the port's construction to add to the archives of bards and minstrels. Mistress Shazza Sedna haggled and brokered for materials which kept the project in good order, while Marquessa Llewella Melaeris found the best stonemasons to help build.

Dame Thena Grayhope, Mistress Hana Grayhope, and Elder Mirk Halfshav all contributed with donations or expertise that helped sustain supply lines and workers, all of which helped keep the construction on schedule. Crovane's vassals, House Blackwood and House Ravenseye, offered their military and naval support upon the northern coastline while Stormwall focused on its heavy construction.

And I am eternally grateful for my family's dedication and patience before, during, and after the construction of this new port. Lord Rysen and Lady Mikani Crovane for their connections throughout the city and beyond, Physician Rukhnis Al-Katibi for overseeing the health and well being of the workers, and to my husband, Duke Kaldur, for overseeing what I could not.

Port Eirlys would not have been made possible without the help of allies and friends. Thank you. May the gods and spirits watch over and bless you all.
