Velenosa's Mirror Masquerade VI

Once more, House Velenosa opens the doors of their ballroom to honor the Thirteenth during the Blood Moon. The yearly tradition of the Mirror Masquerade will test your courage, and perhaps sanity, as the evening unfolds and the mirrors showcase what is, what was, what could be...or it is just your imagination? Masks are a must, lest the demons and ghosts follow you home.

Someone wearing Awakening Dreamer, a sleeping mask of rose gold arrives a bit early. The rose-gold-clad figure seems to gravitate towards a place to sit and settles nearby the Artful Mirrormask. Once seated the Dreamer crosses her legs and gazes out over the arriving people with a delighted expression. Then turns to the Mirrormask she's seated with.

Someone wearing a fierce tigress half-mask and an Infernal being walk into a ... masquerade. The infernal of the pair is rather taller than the tigress, but somehow they make their entrance look more graceful than it should, pausing just inside the threshold arm in arm to take in the atmosphere. The Tigress murmurs something, gazing at the mirrors first and then the attendants as they pass out warnings and alcohol. "Right. Going to need the drink, I think." She smiles politely and toasts the server, waiting for her demonically dressed partner to grab one as well before meandering towards the place where misconduct is apparently encouraged.

It is hard for the host to fade into a crowd of masks to take advantage of the anonymous nature of the evening, so the Archduchess does not even try as she is perched on her throne over looking the ballroom from a high balcony, her melodic voice caressing the marble to echo into the darkest corners of the ballroom.

"Welcome" the woman wearing a mirrorsilver filigree half-mask states without standing. "I invite you to our home to enjoy the evening as we do each Bloodmoon, where the lands are cast in red and the shadows linger a little longer. Where the mirrors show what could be, what might have been, or play tricks and show you what you wish was. Be careful, I warn. Do long look long, do not allow your gaze to linger, for you might not like what you find. Sometimes though, you will like it too much and never be the same again."

She claps once, loud and sharp, and music begins, the sound is soft and haunting and servants begin their rounds to offer drinks to all. "I hope that whatever the night holds, you do home with someone interesting. Please leave the ghosts and demons where they are."

Someone wearing a puffy mask of blue and grey smoke arrives, following Someone wearing a mask of vivid fire.

Someone wearing an elegantly asymmetrical silk mask sparkling under countless mirrorsilver beads gracefully strides in, dressed in all red. It definitely stands out against the tan of her skin. Plucking a wine glass from a passing servant, she goes to have a seat, crossing her long legs.

Someone wearing Awakening Dreamer, a sleeping mask of rose gold keeps an eye on the entrance and those who flow through it. Fascination light a light in her eyes. Thanking the servant who passes for the wine the Dreamer looks back to her conversational companion.

Someone wearing Lady of the Moon mask seems to wear the occasion as a costume, though there's nothing bloody about her aeterna gown. She hardly seems worried about concealing her identity, though. She is here to enjoy the ball.

A whisper of silk and the light tapping of heeled dancing slippers accompanies the entrance of a woman clad in black. Silvery stars twinkle against the ebony shades of her mask and garment. She pauses, glances around and a slow, sultry smile shows as she turns and makes her way further into the room

Someone wearing a puffy mask of blue and grey smoke arrives into the room in a cloud of smoke. This must be some sort of a special effect or there are gnomes under that outfit smoking a pipe, or a very tiny dog. Of course however, where there is smoke, there is fire and in this case, it hangs upon the wearing arm of one as someone in a a mask of vivid fire accompanies them in.

In a shadowy umbra ballgown overlaid with a floral overlay of burnout black velvet bobs a sprightly figure in a lilac-hued half-mask. Her jacket is beaded over with feathery patterns in glimmery thread. Her costume a purposeful mish-mash of evocative concepts that were caught with last-minute indecision.

Someone wearing Fuzzy brown raccoon walks into the room solo and finds a spot within range of the de mirrors so she canstep towards one later should she choose and watches the creatively clad partygoers

Someone wearing lilac silk half-mask has joined the Shadowy Corner.

Someone wearing a puffy mask of blue and grey smoke has joined the The Scandal Couch.

Someone wearing a faceted mirrorsilver mask studded with diamonds pauses just inside the ballroom as she arrives on the arm of her coal-masked escort, glittering from head to toe and contrasted starkly by the looming, black-clad figure at her side. The gust of air seems to startle her, and is followed by a tinkling laugh when she looks up to murmur to her companion, even her smile luminous thanks to the silvery lustre dust adorning her lips. They continue on through the room, passing below the balcony where she pauses to lower her head respectfully to the hostess on high, a distant greeting on the way to one of the less scandalous couches in the ballroom.

Someone wearing an Infernal Shadow Mask claims a glass with affability, though perhaps that emotion is somewhat lost given the ferocity of his mask. His steps are measured so that they are matched to the tigresses, and he tilts the glass slightly as they stroll, inspecting the contents with either appreciation or perhaps suspicion. Once they reach the couch, he remains standing so that the tigress can claim her lair first, and remains so as the hostess speaks. He offers a bow in appreciation for that invitation as well, before turning to take a seat, his head tilted ever so slightly in interest in gazing at the myriad of other wonderful costumes in the room, before bowing his head to murmur to the Tigress.

A tap of a crow cane clicks on the ballroom floor in slow rhythm to the heartbeat of drums as an androgynous onyx black countenance with sharp features and particularly pointed ears jutting through long white hair takes a look around. "The taste of iron is in the air tonight, don't spill a drop of that sanquine spell." the visage of a shadowy elf says in a dead dull voice as a hello before he continues in.

Someone wearing tidal silk half-mask ties on a half silk mask upon entry, a very last minute decision apparently. Wearing the tidal silk half-mask now, the man's figure underneath the tri-corn hat and pristine silver birch leaf waistcoat and matching trousers and boots, strides in with some weary shake of his head. "Thirty... thousand..." he mutters to himself upon looking around at the crowd of masks. "M'lord Hunter?" He calls out, searching. "Oh no, sorry, not you. You look fabulous though," a smile bracketed by mustache and goatee flashes as he passes through.

Someone wearing an artful and unnaturally reflective stygian mirrormask sits at the Impropriety Couch, long legs crossed under sheer umbra, lace, and innumerable obsidian beads that trace out a design of lace against all that explosed caramel skin. There's curiosity in her eyes even if her body is languid and almozt lazy in its lounge. She speaks quietly with a lady in a rose gold Dreamer mask.

Ugarte arrives, following Someone wearing coral silk half-mask.

Someone wearing coral silk half-mask has joined the Shadowy Alcove.

Someone wearing An Antlered Buck Mask arrives, gait graceful and intentional. Distinguishing features have been hidden in their entirety beneath a mask, a cloak of embroidered leaves, and simple black cloth that runs from the top of the mask to her boots, gloves and all. 'Female' seems to be the only discernible trait, in spite of the prominent antlers on the mask. The various hubs of activity are given subdued attention as she tries to discern which to settle in at. "Choices, choices, the paralysis of choices."

Someone wearing a mask of vivid fire looks about the room as he enters with the Smoke on his arm. "So, I guess we go get the food out of the way first so you can test me?" Unlike his subtle partner his every moment flickers with the fluttering movement of bright fabrics. "Or, drink before we dance?"

Someone wearing an Umbra mask adorned with silver stars drifts over toward the person in the elven mask when hearing that dull voice. "You are quite in keeping with the mood of the evening." Her complimentary melodic tones of voice counter the dead dull one.

The sound of talons scraping across the floor of the Ballroom seems to come from the shadows or perhaps the being has stepped from one of the mirrors as the white gauze seems to whisper movement when he's noticed. The visage of Tehom wearing person circles the room as if taking in all that is displayed. There is an ease to the movements as if time has no concern and everything is as they wish it to be. A soft billowing of the robes that conceal the body of the person as they move. If one gets too close, there is a cautionary growl given as the 'person' tries to come up with the first place to be this evening. Clink. Clink. Clink. The metal claws hitting the deep red goblet of wine as everything else is hidden away.

Someone wearing a filigree half-mask of light and dark bops to the drums on her way in as though they beat a jig. Petite and elegant, she walks alone, her head held high and her back straight in an unconscious boost to her stature. A glossy, voluminous mass of raven curls sways in time with her hips, her diaphanous pink spidersilk skirts flowing with the silhouette of her slender legs. Turning her head, her mask and tiara catch direct light, her half-obscured features breaking into a huge, giddy grin at the very wonder of the atmosphere around her. Blue eyes glittering, she drinks it in once more with a glance that begins at the grand throne and ends on a couch in a separate corner. On her way to the latter, she flutters a dainty, gauntleted hand in a wave toward the woman in multihued filigree, alaricite talons scintillating.

Someone wearing a filigree half-mask of light and dark has joined the The Impropriety Couch.

Someone wearing a puffy mask of blue and grey smoke peers interestedly at her firey companion, that is, when her eyes are not darting all over trying to locate a mirror in spite of promises made, "Test you? How am I to test you? Dancing skills? Not before you drink a whiskey. Or perhaps before", she laughs, "But food will be delightful. Followed by drinks. And dancing".

Someone wearing an Infernal Shadow Mask has left the The Misconduct Couch.

Someone wearing an Infernal Shadow Mask has joined the The Misconduct Couch.

Someone wearing Awakening Dreamer, a sleeping mask of rose gold's expression brightens over something and the Dreamer gestures out over the room with a elegant flick of her gloved fingers. Eyes drawn to pops of color amidst the darkness while she speaks.

Arriving neither too late, nor too early is an individual sporting a mask of three faces. The scenery, as well as the occupants of the room are taken in with what one must assume is a look of appreciation. Or perhaps consternation. Surprise? In any event, they certainly take a good look around as they weave their way through the crowd.

Stepping into the room, the masked woman cannot fully hide the excited sparkle in her eyes. She moves with ease, wearing flat sandals so not to add any more inches to her height. Which still has her towering over many others. At her side, a man a few inches taller, dressed in a bear mask. One arm is linked with his, the smile that is exposed by the half-cut design curls upwards. "This is my first time," she confesses of the Mirror Masquerade, taking in every detail and immersing herself, completely. "I cannot stop thinking about the moon," she adds, the little buzz of excitement threading through her tone. "Everyone looks incredible," her steps are slow, not rushing the entrance so to see it all from a distance, as long as she can. Memorizing the sight of it. "How curious tonight shall be," she adjusts a gold mask dangling sapphire blue glass and gold beads and leads her companion towards the crucial act of selecting a drink.

Someone wearing lilac silk half-mask has left the Shadowy Corner.

Someone wearing A horned lord had come a few moments early and found himelf standing near the door, eyes looking around as if they searched for someone. Hearing the call of "M'lord Hunter." the figure moves in the direction of the tidal silk half masked person, a gloved hand reaches out to touch the shoulder. "I am here."

With his arm linked with the woman wearing a gold mask dangling sapphire blue glass and gold beads, the man in the roaring bear mask takes a moment to let his gaze dart around the room, taking in the plethora of sights before he's looking back to his companion, "Truly? Your first? Well, then it's certainly something that you shall have to enjoy." Browns and greys of the outfit are no doubt done to give the appearance of a bears coloring and when his companion mentions being curious, there's just the hint of a chuckle, "Well, there is certainly no limit to that, now, is there?" Moving alongside her in that search for drinks, it's easy enough to find one of the staff with trays and two glasses are procured, with one handed over to her, "Did you want to walk about or find a seat?"

Someone wearing tidal silk half-mask looks over his shoulder as he SWEARS he heard a growl, blinking over at the visage of Tehom for a long moment, "If I wasn't a believer in the stars and moon, perhaps I would believe that Tehom himself was among us. Amazing costume, m'lord." He then steps aside not to hinder the movements of the person underneath, turning his head as he hears a response to his question. "There you are. The horns oddly... and ironically suit you. At last I'm here, despite having to drop a small fortune to fit in."

Someone wearing an artful and unnaturally reflective stygian mirrormask looks up when Tehom Himself enters, green eyes suddenly fastened to that personage for quite some times. She's observing.

Someone wearing a stygian mask of coal pauses briefly at the entry, masked gaze sweeping the area as a whole. While the sights are certainly interesting, his attention is on his diamond companion again soon enough and he tilts his head in wordless query. Her movement is answer enough and he escorts her for a turn around the expansive chamber, dipping into a hint of a bow for their host when they pause there. Those inviting couches are tempting so he turns in that direction, a swift smile offered to his partner before he assists her to take a seat. Naturally he claims the spot next to her.

Someone wearing a shadowy elven visage says to an Umbra mask adorned with silver stars as the frozen elven face looks across what she wears. "The sanguine eye might be casting a red hue tonight, and shadows might play and dance with a bit more freedom, but I find stars still shine just as brightly and bravely if one seeks them out." He lifts the cane and the crow gives aa gesture towards where drinks are at. "A little something to wet the appetite on this evening's adventure?"

Ringo, the aloof wildcat arrives, delivering a message to Someone wearing a shadowy elven visage before departing.

Someone wearing coral silk half-mask is a man in black, save for the pink of his mask and fluttering half-cape. He sits in shadow. "Come now," he says to the man in tidal silk. "It was certainly not a small fortune. A pittance for the chance at playing someone else."

a tall and silent woman with only one hand arrives, delivering a message to Someone wearing a multihued half-mask of finespun mirrorsilver filigree set with a blood-red epiphanite before departing.

Someone wearing a mask of vivid fire whirls the Smoke about in a circle as if he's already intent on getting her to dance, boundless with the energy of fire. "If I'll throw it at you or not. Then you can either try to flee me the rest of the evening or I'll prove what I said was true. Oh, yes..." He leans closer to the Smoke to speak more softly to her, "More fun to dance after drinking."

Someone wearing an Umbra mask adorned with silver stars follows tradition. When the person wearing the Tehom is near, her head dips in a respectful bow yet she does not speak unless first spoken to by him. Instead her attention turns more fully to the Elven visage and she laughs softly as she steps nearer. Her glance rests on the cane with the crow and lifts once more toward its owner. "Of course. Drinks sound perfect. Have you a preference for one or the other?"

Someone wearing the visage of Tehom has joined the The Impropriety Couch.

Someone wearing a gold mask dangling sapphire blue glass and gold beads has joined the The Scandal Couch.

A messenger arrives, delivering a message to Someone wearing a stygian mask of coal before departing.

Someone wearing a puffy mask of blue and grey smoke really did not think through the concept of having something smoke under her gown and be engulfed in smoke all the time. Which is apparent, since she's coughing. Lifting her skirts, a small fluffy creature is allowed to escape into a corner. Dont ask. But the smoke stopped. Still looking the part, "No throwing it at me!", she instructs the fire, "This is a very expensive dress!", instead she follows him toward the concessions table, "We can dance - afford me one drink at least, perhaps we should limit yours", she nudges her vivid Fire companion. "Lets find a mirror!"

Someone wearing A horned lord nods his head moving to keep a hand on his shoulder as eyes glance around, "Thank you." he chuckles softly. "A good last moment pick, shall we find a place to sit so we are not blocking the door?" his eyes look around seeming a bit nervous perhaps.

Someone wearing the visage of Tehom has seemed to make his first selections of the night. Perhaps it was the eyes upon him. Perhaps it was just bad luck. However, the metal against metal clinks and clatters as the person eases themselves to the couch.

Someone wearing a filigree half-mask of light and dark looks up at the Visage's approach, making direct and perhaps accidental eye contact for a moment. She bows her head in respect.

Someone wearing A mask of browns and greys in the form of a roaring bear has joined the The Scandal Couch.

Someone wearing an artful and unnaturally reflective stygian mirrormask looks up when Tehom sits at her couch, green eyes studying the masked face before she rises and drops into a low curtsy, holding the bend for a long while before rising again and retaking her seat. "My Lord Tehom," she murmurs, voice soft and respectful.

Someone wearing a mask of vivid fire has joined the The Scandal Couch.

Lamora, Quartz, a very sneezy kitten arrive, following Someone wearing a simple black mask carved with spirals.

Someone wearing Awakening Dreamer, a sleeping mask of rose gold smiles at the Half-masked light and dark as they join the couch before looking up at the next arrival and she dips her head in respect though her attention moves to the Artful Mirrormask as she speaks low.

Someone wearing Fuzzy brown raccoon is looking about the room with studious gaze trying to figuire out who is who

Slender fingers, bronzed by the sun reach for a glass of something. Then the other hand takes a second drink. It's kept to herself, the woman wearing a gold mask dangling sapphire blue glass and gold beads isn't handing it to the large bear. They are different drinks. Like she isn't quite sure which one she will like, so she took two. With that strategy deployed, the tall blonde waits for her partner to get a drink, before she is looking over to a place to sit. The sea of masks, any place is the same as another, each one offers a mystery. And so she picks a spot, "let's sit for a moment? Have a drink and then we can dance," she cants her head to the side briefly, slipping into a spot, crossing one tanned leg over the other. Comfortable, she seeks to greet those she's just joined.

Lamora have been dismissed.

The hall fills with the sound of revels as more and more guests begin to file into the expansive room. The bloody moon bright against the darkening sky illuminates the room through the wide windows, painting the reflective surfaces red.

Someone wearing a shadowy elven visage says to an Umbra mask adorned with silver stars, "I doubt my particular favoured drop is being shared tonight, at least not yet here. But while one is a guest, we ought to enjoy the host's hospitality." Off the dark elf and starry umbra lady move towards the drinks slowly. As the moon fills the ballroom, he might look up and drink in a moment of that reddish light before he waits for the lady to choose tonight's first drink of choice. He leans in, whispering a moment.

Someone wearing a mask of vivid fire watches part of Smoke's dress -literally- run away. "See why I was against literally being on fire?" He teases the smoke as they look over the array of food. "Is it? You won't blame me that part of it...uhh flew away just now, will you? That's what smoke does." After selecting something easy to walk about with and eat, he also accepts a drink in passing. "Let's find a seat."

Silhouette of a starling against a twilight sky mask drifts into the ballroom proper, light on her feet, very careful - as though the blocked heels of her riding boots were made of glass. They aren't - however - she weaves in and out of places on whim, following her fickle fancies. "-- Perhaps, all this restless energy, I ought to dance."

Following the woman in a gold mask dangling sapphire blue glass and gold beads, the man in the roaring bear mask gives a quick laugh when she procures two drinks and keeps them for herself, while he meanwhile takes just one, "Looks like you're ensuring that you're prepared for awhile." There's just the barest hint of a grin the becomes visible beneath his mask as he lets his gaze dart back around before he's looking back to his companion as she moves towards one of the many seats available. Settling himself down into it, there's a little bob of his head given, "Yes, have a drink and then we can dance. And then have another drink."

Someone wearing a lucky hare mask in gleaming gold has joined the Ballroom Floor.

Someone wearing a simple black mask carved with spirals late, perhaps, but not so late there's no point in coming. Spirals steps in through the ballroom doors, in a bright pink a-line gown. It compliments fair skin, and goes well with the stark black of her ceramic mask. Simple, except for the spikey rosegold, diamond and ruby necklace she wears. She's taking in the sights, for the moment, and gravitating towards the wine.

Someone wearing a starling silhouette against a summer twilight sky leather half-mask has joined the Ballroom Floor.

Someone wearing an Umbra mask adorned with silver stars glances over the array of drinks offered and casually reaches out for one of the lighter wines. "While I enjoy a stronger drink at times, here I like to keep a bit of a clearer head, so to enjoy the company and be able to remember it come morning." She takes a sip and in the Lycene manner, offers the goblet to the person in a shadowy elven visage. Her voice then lowers to reply to the low spoken question asked of her.

Someone wearing Fuzzy brown raccoon has joined the Ballroom Floor.

Someone wearing a puffy mask of blue and grey smoke eyes the one wearing a mask of vivid fire, |z=a smilel appears, "See, if you would have found a tiny dragon to put on your shoulder to blow fire, you would not find my little puffy creature so unbelievable. You are just jealous that I can hide things under my dress!". Her eyes do travel to those on the couches they chose to join, offering a twitch of her red lips which is all that visiable with that mask, her lips and her eyes which might be familar to some, "Good evening, Lady Gold, Lord Bear".

As the ball continues on, there is a figure out on the dance floor grooving all by themselves. A golden hare mask with tall ears extending above their head, complete with a fine umbra suit. In one hand is held a glass of brandy which is sipped from every few beats.

She swirls onto the ballroom dancefloor, full skirts poofing out around her as she spins. "Always, a dress that twirls," the starling's silhouette trills with a smile, turning around. Spinning in a dance and chancing her reflection - or the reflections of others that she can see. Lips slanted sly, she continues to dance --

Someone wearing coral silk half-mask studies the dancing hare from his shadowy corner. Quiet, but appreciative. A showman is a showman.

Someone wearing A horned lord has joined the Decadent Couch.

Someone wearing an Infernal Shadow Mask continues to speak quietly with the tigress on their couch, though he seems to have been able to discard his glass at some point. He takes her hand in his, to lift it to touch it where his lips would be before lowering it once more. Perhaps a little too chivalrously for such an infernal presence.

Someone wearing a burnt book wyrm mask quietly enters the ballroom and sticks to the shadows. A direct path is taken to the nearest couch whereupon he takes a seat, watching.

Someone wearing Fuzzy brown raccoon looks toward the dancing hare with a smile at her fellow woodland creature

Someone wearing tidal silk half-mask has joined the Decadent Couch.

Someone wearing a burnt book wyrm mask has joined the The Impropriety Couch.

Someone wearing a puffy mask of blue and grey smoke glees a little too loud, "So many animals!"

Someone wearing a mask of vivid fire casts a sly glance over Smoke's attire. "I am jealous that your dress hides things under it... not so much that -you- choose to do so." He takes a perfectly innocent sip of whatever drink he'd chosen while they arrive at the Scandal Couch, so appropriate for his innuendo. "Hello," he greets the others at the couch as he helps the Smoke to seat before taking his place beside her.

On the dancefloor, the Golden Hare continues to bust what moves he has with grace and dignity. Toes tap. Hips shimmy left to right. Elbows and shoulders move in tandem and occasionally the glass of brandy rises up high and the hare slips into a slow twirl as he weaves his way between the others on the dancefloor.

Someone wearing a fierce tigress half-mask suddenly hops up from the couch and appears to be tugging on the hand of the Infernal just after his chivalrous gesture. Where to? The dance floor of course.

"We're wild --" the silhouette chimes in, sweetly. She dips an invisible dance partner, glances out across the floor with a dimpled smile, and she brings her unseen dance partner up before she starts to twirl and dance again. The sheer freedom of being is enough to make her laugh out loud with delight.

Someone wearing Lady of the Moon mask has joined the The Impropriety Couch.

Someone wearing a puffy mask of blue and grey smoke would facepalm at her Fire's comment but there is too much metal in danger of going into her forehead, so lets not do that. "Of course you are. Because you know that at the end of the evening I can hide some cake under it before we leave", she narrows her eyes at him from beyond the mask, collecting the drink he had for her. Her eyes settle on the gold mask and the bear that joined them, "You are so very regal. I adore the gold and everything fits so well together, makes me feel like I was lazy!", she probably was, "Besides, I had a burning desire to already get here", she puns at her Fire partner.

It may come as no surprise to those who've spent such a holy occasion surrounded by mirrors in the past but there's a slight shift in the clarity of their reflections. As though one is staring into an open window that they can reach inside. They cannot, of course. Any who are unwise enough to stare within the depths too long may see their worst nightmares come to life for the briefest flicker of a moment. Visible only to them. Perhaps there's something in these drinks?

Someone wearing the visage of Tehom glances about from their seat as the mirrors change. Is it calling him home? His head turns as if to look there, but it also seems that they are on someone on the couch. As if he's offering them a coin.

Someone wearing tidal silk half-mask follows with a cheerful, "They wouldn't let me in without a mask, so glad I have one, even if it merely covers my eyes. Next time, I will be better prepared." He amuses as he follows to the decadent couch, "Did you see that person in the Tehom costume? That one and the Golden Hare, impressive. Although your horns, they are impressive too, m'lord Hunter. Do you know anyone else here tonight?" He glances upward and watches as everything the light touches turns a tinge red, making his silver and white attire look blood red too. He's wearing a mirrorsilver bracelet and looks down upon it, as if having caught something in the corner of his eyes, then murmurs, "Do you see anything strange, beyond the masks?"

Someone wearing an artful and unnaturally reflective stygian mirrormask looks up from Tehom's mask when the Lady of the Moon and the Burnt Book join the couch as well, but her hand reaches out and takes the coin from the Deity among them.

Someone wearing a grey grinning shark mask has joined the Libertine Table.

Someone wearing an Infernal Shadow Mask doesn't look away from mirrors he passes as he escorts the Tigress, but neither does he linger. It takes him a moment to find the rhythm of the dance, perhaps a telltale sign of a less practiced dancer, but not one totally unfamiliar. Especially when he seems to focus mostly on his partner and also peripherally not crashing too much about in the throng of revelers. His face is fully hidden, but if it is possible to see a smile in the way he touches and moves, it is done without much of a guard and without shame.

Someone wearing a shadowy elven visage takes a glass of whatever an Umbra mask adorned with silver stars has selected for them. "A toast to the creeping ghosts of the past, a greeting to the specters and reflections here massed. Let them merry be! May those who revel be wild and free as mirrors and dancing reflections shine between I and thee." He takes a sip from the goblet.

Someone wearing Fuzzy brown raccoon shimmies her hips slightly as she watches. Therere's no way she's competing with the hare or anyone else for that matter but it is near sacreligious not to move though ay the same time take a peeek in a mirror begore turning away

Someone wearing an artful and unnaturally reflective stygian mirrormask checks luck at normal. Someone wearing an artful and unnaturally reflective stygian mirrormask is successful.

Someone wearing Awakening Dreamer, a sleeping mask of rose gold is quite still on the couch though she nods at the new arrival with a small smile, "Welcome." She greets as she casts her eyes to the mirrors as they're bathed in the moonlight for only a moment because she's drawn to what's happening on the couch next to her.

Alberico, the Malespero aide, Louis, a Malespero Armsman, Mar, the Magpie arrive, following Someone wearing stormy silk half-mask.

A look here, a peek there...surely all is completely normal at this hour, most especially if someone was already well into their cups for the evening. They aren't currently engaged in dancing, or socializing for that matter. Taking things in seems to be the only goal for the moment.

Alberico, the Malespero aide, Louis, a Malespero Armsman, Mar, the Magpie leave, following Someone wearing stormy silk half-mask.

Someone wearing an Umbra mask adorned with silver stars tips her head as she listens to what the Shadowy elven visage tells to her. Her eyes, framed by the umbra mask, sparkle with interest and so great is the attention paid to the words said that any sips she might have taken of her drink are delayed till the end.

The golden hare lifts his glass as the Raccoon gets into the dance, a clear encouragement to dance on! The drink is then brought to his lips for a long draw that drains the contents before he's gesturing a nearby server over to claim a fresh one and send his empty away.

Someone wearing stormy silk half-mask claims a glass of wine and one of those morsels of fingerfood from the passing servers before continuing further into the ballroom. The eyes behind that stormy half mask seeking out someone familiar.

Someone wearing Midnight in the garden has joined the Ballroom Floor.

Someone wearing an artful and unnaturally reflective stygian mirrormask pauses about something and then looks the Visage of Tehom over for a moment in silence before she leans in to murmur something.

Lamora have been dismissed.

Someone wearing A horned lordshakes his head, "I am not sure of anyone else that has come." his eyes look over to see the Theom costume, eyes looking them over, "Impressive." he looks back a smirk coming to lips as they are called Lord hunter again, "I do like my horns." and moves to sit on the couch looking around as everything takes on that red tinge and then the mirrors he licks his lips looking to someone wearing the tidal silk half mask and leans in to speak in soft tones.

Someone wearing a fierce tigress half-mask doesn't appear to look right at the mirrors at all when passing them on the way to the dance floor. She seems more athletic then graceful when moving to the beat of the music, but is also without qualm in letting the spirit of the dance take her. When the dance calls for a dip? She plays up the backwards fall dramatically and allows a moment of happy laughter to escape.

Someone wearing Awakening Dreamer, a sleeping mask of rose gold's torn between the Ball and what's happening on the Couch. She struggles for just a few more moments after greeting the new arrival to the Impropriety Couch.

The candlelight in the room begins to flicker, some sputtering out completely, and the air starts to cool considerably. It's cooler than the outdoors so perhaps the open windows aren't to blame.

As he dances his way through the crowd, the Golden Hare hazards a gaze at one of the mirrors, though perhaps he is just attempting to see how good he looks moving and grooving on the dance floor.

Someone wearing Fuzzy brown raccoon has an almost defiant look in her eyes for a moment before adopting a more neutral expression and wrapping her arms about herself and approaches the hare ju candles begin to flicker

Someone wearing stormy silk half-mask finds the person he was looking for out on the dance floor and stands on the very edge for as long as it takes for them to notice him. Once he believes that has happened he inclines his head towards a space not far from one of the mirrors and makes his way, limping very slightly, over there to wait and watch.

The changing light is enough to draw the Artful Mirrormask's attention away from Tehom. Those close enough might see how they narrow faintly, gaze sharpening as she looks around. But her gaze returns to the Visage.

Someone wearing a puffy mask of blue and grey smoke's eyes are drawn from mirror to mirror, but the noticable change of the candles has her raising an eyebrow as her palms authomatically move to rub upon her arms to protect herself from the cold.

Someone wearing a simple black mask carved with spirals has finished her first (of many) glasses of wine, and she finds herself gliding towards the dance floor-- Or she was, right up until the cool air and flickering candle light. Spirals stops with an air of consideration, and turns to not only find herself another glass of wine, but to move towards one of the mirrors as well. Fingers lift, tracing against the ruby and diamonds at her throat.

Someone wearing a filigree half-mask of light and dark catches the Mirrormask's shift of attention with a passing watchfulness.

The starling's silouette spies a familiar swathe of stormy-hued silk and she gestures - fingers wiggling in a little wave. Conspiratorial, then - suddenly - challenging. The dimpled smile is more a smirk. She takes a sip of her wine, rolls her shoulders back, and continues to dance to keep a chill from tracing down her spine.

Someone wearing Midnight in the garden has left the Ballroom Floor.

The height differential does allow for a certain amount of liberty, as in response to that peal of laughter, the Infernal Shadow can sweep the Tigress right back up dramatically--though similar to her own style, his is more athletic than artistic. The beginnings of a chill in the room seems well timed, as it's perhaps a handful of moments after that he realizes that perhaps it not just from the air movement of the dance. But still he moves with the Tigress still, if perhaps a touch more protectively, though it may well be something that he's not aware that he's doing.

Someone wearing a faceted mirrorsilver mask studded with diamonds begins to rise from her selected perch as the blood red light reflected in the mirrors washes over her white and silver attire. Her diamond-haloed head cants, and cautious steps begin to carry her toward one mirror in particular, though not without her coal-clad companion's elbow clutched securely in her lace-wrapped fingertips. There is a sidelong glance to the Visage of Tehom as the pair pass him, and a careful dip of her chin, but their steps do not falter and continue on until they stand before their goal.

The Golden Hare continues to dance to his own beat, his gaze alternating from the mirrors around the room to the other dancers about the floor. As he notes the approach of the Racoon, he offers a gallant bow before resuming his movements and taking another deep drink from his brandy.

Someone wearing coral silk half-mask has left the Shadowy Alcove.

Ugarte leaves, following Someone wearing coral silk half-mask.

Someone wearing an artful and unnaturally reflective stygian mirrormask murmurs something back to Tehom and then she rises to curtsey again. "Thank you, my Lord." Then she sits.

Someone wearing a fierce tigress half-mask is swept! And, is just surprised enough to let go a startled squeak before laughing again and settling back into a marginally more sedate dance. When candles flicker and a chill starts to creep in, she steps closer to her Infernal partner, perhaps also protectively, but gives a surreptitious glance around the room. When her eyes finally settle on Tehom's visage they widen a bit, perhaps just now noticing or realizing along with the cooler air, and gives a brief but respectful incline of her head. The solemnity of her expression is sadly broken by her having to stand on the tip of her toes to murmur something quietly to her dance partner though.

Someone wearing Fuzzy brown raccoon curtseys to the hare while murmering quietly

Someone wearing tidal silk half-mask snorts quietly at A horned lord for the remark about the horns, "Mm. As long as you don't gore me with your horns, we'll be fine." He settles down into the couch and exhales as he looks down, just as the lights seem to sputter out.

Someone wearing the visage of Tehom has left the The Impropriety Couch.

Someone wearing a stygian mask of coal's chin lifts and focus moves temporarily across the area. He rises when bid to, arm offered to the diamond so that he can escort her in most formal fashion toward her chosen mirror. This is evidently for her benefit, for when the diamond does stand in front of the mirror, her coal is stepping back behind her. His hands move to her shoulders and rest there. It is only then that he finally does look, his study of the pair of them an extensive thing.

"My tempest-tossed one, my wave-thrown, my stormcloud --" the starling's silhouette croons, dancing still, until it's time to leave in order to accept a new glass of cool white wine. "-- I am a better dancer than I am a poet, unfortunately. I am curious, so, I will ask to all: What does the moon mean to you, although it's mostly directed to you, stormy cloud?" She dances off in order to return to the ballroom dancefloor once more.

Someone wearing the visage of Tehom dips his head towards the TIGERESS and her dance partner. His talons clicking upon the ground as he goes closer to his mirrors as if to step through them. Yet the cowled head turns to look at the other seats, perhaps finding the next person.

Someone wearing a shadowy elven visage listens to something an Umbra mask adorned with silver stars says, and he is silently thinking a bit as the chill wind blows between them. "While some of the loveliest songs are sung to herald the morning with the chorus of dawn as the sun rises with its plumage of burning glory, there's some who sing when twilight reigns. A very good song, lady Umbra."

Someone wearing A gem encrusted stygian mask if greeted by a whirl of motion, and she is forced to pause, to stutter beyond the threshold, to drink in the sits all around her, the faceless masks here and there, the dancing - the mirrors. A pause, a breath, a moment more - then motion catches her attention, and she's gathering up the silken lengths of her gown so that she might approach one of the faces, lost in the crowd.

When the dance ends, The Infernal's gaze follows that of the Tigress'. As soon as he notes that's she's trying to rise up, he bows his head down to listen, and then straightens briefly to offer a bow towards Tehom in respect and courtesy, before once more leaning so that he can hear his partner. He shakes his head slightly, but then murmur something soft in reply, offering her his arm.

Someone wearing the visage of Tehom has joined the The Immorality Couch.

With Tehom wandering off, the Artful Mirrormask turns her attention to the room itself. Something the Dreamer masked person says is met with a faint shake of her head and some murmured words of response.

Someone wearing stormy silk half-mask spends a moment looking into the mirror before looking back across towards the starling as she speaks her words of storms. After a few moments of watching her he shakes his head a little, his mouth curved in mild amusement, and heads over to one of the tables.

Someone wearing Awakening Dreamer, a sleeping mask of rose gold stands and turns to her couch companions and holds her hands out to them. Nodding to something the Artful Mirrormask says. "I'll come back for you." The Dreamer promise before looking at the Lady Moon, Wyrm and Light and Darkness as well. Turning to the Burnt masked one she says, "You as well." She then leans in to murmur to the people on the couch.

Someone wearing a simple black mask carved with spirals reaches out to just lightly trace her fingers over the frame of the mirror she wandered to, glancing out the giant windows rather than into the mirror just yet. So far, Spirals has been keeping to herself, strolling through the ball without companion nor voice. Drifting through the moonlight, untethered.

Someone wearing an Infernal Shadow Mask leads the Tigress back to their previously claimed couch, though they do meander close enough to the servers for another round of drinks to be claimed. His dark gazes moves slowly over the room even now, seemingly to linger here and there when particular costumes or actions catch his eye. But with his eyes so shielded, it's hard to tell perhaps just where he is looking. As before, he waits for the Tigress to get settled first, before he will claim a seat.

Someone wearing Awakening Dreamer, a sleeping mask of rose gold has joined the Ballroom Floor.

Someone wearing an artful and unnaturally reflective stygian mirrormask rises from the couch and begins to wander slowly through the ball. She dodges dancers. She slips past servants. Her steps take her closer to the mirrors, and she walks past them. Should anyone seem caught in a mirror, she stops to talk to them quietly.

The temperature of the room seem to gradually cool until it suddenly plummets, as though the walls and floors are coated in ice. As more candles sputter out, vague shapes seem to solidify beyond the mirrors. Shadows from beyond. There's a cackle that seems to echo across the many mirrors. Not in unison, at disparate points. The sound of chaos with no beginning and end.

Someone wearing a filigree half-mask of light and dark bounds off the armrest of the Impropriety Couch and is about to address the Awakening Dreamer, but turns to find the tiny figure in a gem-encrusted mask rushing toward her. "B--!" she comes far too close to squealing the person's name in excitement and catches her in a hug, squeezing tight and twirling her before releasing her in a flourish, mindful of her own alaricite claws. Turning back to the Awakening Dreamer in rose-gold, she wonders of them both, "Shall we dance?"

Someone wearing a fierce tigress half-mask settles back into her former seat, with a second drink in hand, and a hand held out towards Infernal in invitation to sit beside her. Which, perhaps, is fortunate as the temperature drops so abruptly and there's an involuntary shiver to go with the chill. She'll just leech some warmth from her partner, thank you! That her eyes are darting towards the sounds of cackling disharmony doesn't mean she's concerned at all. Nooooooo. Not at all.

Someone wearing an Umbra mask adorned with silver stars shivers harder when it becomes so cold and draws closer to the shadowy elven visage as if seeking to share warmth or at least block some of the cold off. Her head turns to glance at the mirrors and their cacaphony of crackling sounds.

Someone wearing a puffy mask of blue and grey smoke is just about to draw the Fire to the dancefloor when the sound of cackling begins to fill the room. Halting in her step, she remains closer to her partner as if he actually possess the ability to keep her warm, "Perhaps we should... wait with the dance?". Eyes dance upon the ice of the walls, she murmurs to him, "This reminds me of my dreams".

Ah! There it is. Darker shadows, shapes in the mirror, cackling from.. Everywhere, nowhere. Spirals steps firmly in front of the mirror she was at, tilting her head as she peers into the reflective surface. Her head tilts, the wine lifted for a sip. Dark red wine for a deep red moon. She shivers as the temperature drops, but doesn't seek warmth.

Someone wearing tidal silk half-mask is shivering on the couch and slouches toward the A horned lord, "It's so cold! My hands are freezing! You there---!" he waves at someone who might be staff serving drinks, or might be a guest, it's hard to tell, "Some hot cider please? Two mugs."

Someone wearing Fuzzy brown raccoon is engaging in pleasant dance and conversation with the hare until the cackle and she inadvertantly jumps into his arms

Someone wearing stormy silk half-mask gets up from his seat and makes his way across to where the lady in the starling mask is dancing. "Dance with me a moment starling?"

The sudden icy chill seems to grip her through and her hands ball tight. The Dreamer nods quickly to the Jeweled and Filigreed figures. Moving quickly for the warmth of bodies on the dance floor. Keeping an eye on the mirrors in her peripheral vision. "I'm not quite dressed for the weather." She muses with distracted cheer.

The Golden Hare has found a partner at last, the Fuzzy Raccoon undoubtedly drawn in by his sweet moves. At the drop in temperature and the sudden weirdness, the Hare looks toward the mirrors once again before sweeping the Raccoon around the dancefloor.

The sound of metal is heard as The visage of Tehom turns his face towards the cackling mirrors. Of course, he doesn't seem too concerned. For a moment though, he looks deep into the reflection before his face turns towards the one playing the game of chance with him. He drops his voice to answer.

The shift in atmosphere is most acutely noted, darken gaze drifting about from the gem encrusted, mask wearing damsel. Yet, her discomfort is fleeting, as she is well embraced by the filigree maiden of light and dark - a hug returned with great warmth and vigor. "Oh, I cannot dance! I never did get around to taking those lessons." A faint smile threatens her lips, a faint rouge applied to them for the occasion, before her eyes are turning towards the mirrors - curious and mindful.

Someone wearing a filigree half-mask of light and dark has joined the Ballroom Floor.

Someone wearing an Infernal Shadow Mask's face is unreadable, but his body language certainly isn't. He remains close to the Tigress with a suddesnt and stronger flare of almost primal protective nature, weapon hand instinctively moving to where one sohuld be but isn't. It isn't the protection of a damsel in distress, however, but a honed fighting partner who's ready to guard his partners back, and double their ability to scope out danger. Ready to bulwark, but trusting in her abilities as well. And hey, she hasn't even spilled her DRINK yet so it's probably fine. He looks at a few other people--including the visiting visage of Tehom--before standing down slightly.

Someone wearing A horned lord blinks as the room gets cold and the cackling is heared, he looks to the figure next to him. "Here." he moves to give the person next to him his cloak. "It will help." the Horned lord does not seem to be bothered by the cold to much.

Someone wearing an artful and unnaturally reflective stygian mirrormask's feet stop still when the voices and cold grow and even more lights snuff out in the ballroom. That too-reflective mask moves slowly across the gathering, focusing on something -through- the people. Those olive green eyes are fixed on some middle space in the air, watching it intently. Hands lift and pull the umbral shrug on her shoulders more closely about her, perhaps an attempt at keeping warm; it's not a very successful attempt from way she shivers.

Someone wearing a burnt book wyrm mask stares into a mirror without blinking, his stand to dance interrupted by the change around him. Fixed in place, something within the reflective surface has utterly caught his attention.

Someone wearing a mask of vivid fire takes the Smoke's hand and draws her back down to sit on his lap at the Scandal Couch. Folding his arms about her as if he could keep her warm from this chill, he whispers into her ear.

Someone wearing a shadowy elven visage levels a stare to the mirrors nearby as the cackling echoes, he lowers his voice with a quiet response to the Umbra lady.

Eventually, the decision is made - it is time to approach the dance floor. Finishing the drink that they had earlier picked up, they leave the empty glass behind with one of the many dutiful servers under the employ of Velenosa. It is but a hop-step-and-a-jig in order to reach their destination.

Gazing out across the floor, the starling seeks a umbra mask - and shadowy elven visage. Watchful, curious. It lasts a moment before she glances away from that shadowy corner. Facing forward to accept, offering a curtsy and accepting a dance from the stormy-hued mask.

Someone wearing the visage of Tehom has left the The Immorality Couch.

Someone wearing a fierce tigress half-mask is apparently the calmer of the two seated at the couch of misconduct. Only by a marginal amount however, as she keeps a careful and wary on on their surroundings. She does have excellent reflexes though, keeping that drink in hand despite any startled jumps.

"Oh, but you /will/ dance," the filigree-masked woman tells her gem-encrusted companion, her small form--about the same size as hers--wracked with a delectable little shiver. She takes her hand firmly in an alaricite gauntlet and then gentles her grip. "Join me. This is what I came for." And with unshakable purpose, she approaches the dancefloor.

Someone wearing an Umbra mask adorned with silver stars moves with her companion over toward a seat, hopefully one out of reach of any mirrors should they shatter and spray fragments and where one might huddle up for warmth against the cold.

Someone wearing a faceted mirrorsilver mask studded with diamonds certainly seems to be getting caught in her chosen mirror, standing between it and the coal-masked figure looming behind her with his large hands upon her petite shoulders. Her dark eyes, behind her mask, study what ever she sees within so intently it is as if she's never seen her own reflection before.

That is, until the cold and chaos begin. The plummet of the temperature sees her gasping and blinking her way back to the present, looking around this way and that and shuffling back flush against her escort. She seems... well, terrified, and looks around the room, across the mirrors, and upside-down at the man standing behind her. Beneath the din, she whispers three words that are drowned out, and then turns away from the mirrors entirely.

Someone wearing stormy silk half-mask offers the lady in the starling mask a small smile before stepping forward to claim his dance with her. Something relatively slow and close. "What better way to survive the cold chaos of this night than a dance Starling? Let us just hope you don't get swept up in the moment again."

Someone wearing the visage of Tehom stands from the Immorality Couch. The click of metal talons upon the ground as he moves to the next couch to sit upon it; uninvited. Unasked.

Someone wearing an artful and unnaturally reflective stygian mirrormask seems even more on edge at whatever she sees. Her gaze snaps back into focus and she begins watching everyone stood in front of a mirror. She spots the Wyrm Masked guy. She spots the Faceted Masked woman. Green eyes are sharp and wary. When the woman in the Faceted mask turns from the mirrors, there's a faint nod and she walks back towards her couch and the man still there.

Someone wearing an elegantly asymmetrical silk mask sparkling under countless mirrorsilver beads has left the The Immorality Couch.

"Oh, it's so far down, stormy weather, that I have already hit the bottom of my cups - my bottle - and my stash box." The starling confesses without a trace of guilt. "After this, oh -- yes." She smiles, flashing dimples. "I plan to see where the evening guides my steps."

Someone wearing an artful and unnaturally reflective stygian mirrormask retakes her seat, watching everything as carefully as possible.

Someone wearing A gem encrusted stygian mask is powerless to refute the determined purpose of the darling in a filigreed mask of light and dark - she honestly doesn't try very hard, though fights back a shiver. A final glance is cast over her shoulder at the mirrors, peering at the curious creation with suspicious curiosity, before she is swept away by her delightful companion. "If I step on your toes, I shant take the blame!" she informs her in a playful tone, slipping onto the overfull dancefloor beside the raven-haired woman, her own hair a tumble of dark locks shimmering with stars.

She steps back, turns on light feet, and makes her way for the dance floor. Her empty wine glass is set down somewhere along the way, and then she's joining those dancing-- threading and twirling through the dancers.

Someone wearing Awakening Dreamer, a sleeping mask of rose gold attempts to escape the chill by immersing herself in the dance. Stepping into the twirl of bodies the Dreamer begins to move in time to the music. She lets the Jeweled and Filigreed masked dances have their space and begins to dance on her own.

Someone wearing Fuzzy brown raccoon grins with a sidewise smirk to her dance partner

Someone wearing a grey grinning shark mask smiles from beneath its bony grin as it takes a glass from one of the passing servants, appearing quite content to remain in its seat while watching the festivities continue but not before dipping its head in gratitude for the gesture.

Someone wearing A horned lord sits in soft coversation at the couch, eyes looking around darting about as people talk, drink and dance. Everyonce in a while eyes wonder to the mirror near looking to it then quickly looking away, breathing deeply. When the mugs are brough he hands one to his conversation partner, "Here, this will help."

Someone wearing a stygian mask of coal straightens immediately when the temperature plunges, turning from the mirror to once more look around the area as though expecting some type of attack. While there are plenty of those that seem to be nonchalant in the face of the oddities, it is not so with him. He gestures in a bold, extravagant way toward the direction that he and the diamond entered from. Is that a question or a demand? It is so difficult to tell, especially with the tension coiled through his form.

Stepping onto the floor with a small, spidersilk-clad foot, the filigreed woman pulls her jeweled companion into a swift, fluid spin, curling her arm in and unfurling it all the way back out, fingers firmly intertwined. She tips back her head and inhales a great, deep breath as if it is her first, azure eyes bathed in bloody light by the moon above before she closes them for a moment. Then she dives into another unstoppable spin, taking her companion with her so both their hair billows in an inky cascade around them. The one in light and dark laughs, a clarion, musical sound at odds with the cackles of the mirrors.

One of the inhuman cackles shifts to a feminine sound as a woman appears to be walking -toward- the guests from the other side of one of the mirrors. There's no one matching her description among the partiers. As she gets closer to the surface one can see her features. Breathtakingly beautiful, impossibly so, with the right side of her face covered in a black reflective glass. Her hair is white as the winter's snow, piled atop her head with glittering pins. She reaches out of the mirror with her bare left arm, the other fully covered in black silk, and points at one of the guests. The one in the artful and unnaturally reflective stygian mirrormask.

"My, my." She steps out of the mirror as though it was an empty doorway. Absolutely no impediment to her whatsoever. Her melodic voice calls out across the room. "You are a curious one aren't you?"

She sharply turns her head to the host. "And what blasphemy is this?!" She says with partially feigned irritation as she points to Tehom.

Thankfully no one is pointing at him. He drinks. "This is entertaining..." he says with a rattle in his voice.

Stumbling over her own feet when a woman justs -- walks -- through a mirror -- "That happened," the starling remarks, startled.

Someone wearing a fierce tigress half-mask definitely does not look entertained right now, but it could be because Tehom is sittin' at their couch right now while something that stepped out of the mirror is pointing right at him. Never going to one of these again, nope. Nope. Nope. Nope. (Yep)

Someone wearing an artful and unnaturally reflective stygian mirrormask looks up when the woman arrives. Oh there's wariness in her eyes but she rises to meet the called words. "Often to my detriment," she replies, her own common-as-mud Lycene voice pitched to carry easily. She inhales and then walks closer, obsidian glittering in the light as she progresses. "I don't believe we've met. Or have we?" A hand is motioned towards the Silent Reflection that follows her, and the one handed woman stills as if waiting for something. "Forgive me if we have and I don't recall."

Someone wearing a puffy mask of blue and grey smoke stares at the woman who just came out of the mirror. Stares. It might be hidden behind her mask but there it is. She clings to her partner, someone hiding in his presence, but her curiousity overcomes her desire to look away.

Someone wearing a burnt book wyrm mask checks composure at hard. Botch! Someone wearing a burnt book wyrm mask fails completely.

Someone wearing an Umbra mask adorned with silver stars's lips had parted as if to say something then close, sealing a yelp or gasp within. Though eyes dilate and color fades a shade, she otherwise does not move, just sits where she is in the shadowy corner sheltered in the lea of the person in the shadowy elven visage mask.

While it might be delightful to blame her complete and utter lack of grace for the fact someone JUST WALKED THROUGH A MIRROR, the bejeweled woman probably was about to crash her dance partner REGARDLESS. But still, this subterfuge is excellent. As the beautiful, elegant form of the light and dark maiden twirls about her, it doesn't last more than a handful of steps before the twilight silk of the gemmed lady's gown is catching in her feet, her heels slipping, the pair veritably falling in a puff of glorious gowns and tumbling hair. A mix between a squeal and a laugh escapes the jeweled maiden, before her arms are sweeping around her companion in a near defensive reaction, eyes gluing towards the woman who, yea, JUST WALKED OUT OF A MIRROR.

Someone wearing a burnt book wyrm mask fails to stifle a sound of surprise at the appearance of the woman who just saunters through the mirror, stumbling backwards and falling rear end first into the couch, eyes wide behind the mask and unable to stop staring despite the warnings give by Mirrormask.

Someone wearing a shadowy elven visage is about to reply to an Umbra mask adorned with silver stars but then he spies a lady stepping out of the mirror. The conversation sort of dies off as the frozen face looks bored while blood red eyes stare intently. A what the moment.

Someone wearing A horned lord stances becomes one of being protective of the person next to him, his head tilts to the side watching as someone walks out of the mirror. Blinkin as he was in mid sip of his drink, "Ummmm."

Someone wearing the visage of Tehom turns his eyes towards the being that stepped out of the mirror. Well this got interesting. There is a shift of his head towards the Archduchess before he shifts his form. It is almost like he's putting himself between the pointing mirror lady and the Tigeress. "That is not a warm welcome. Would you care for a drink?" He offers up his red wine that he hasn't even drank from. It's hard to drink with claws that close to one's mouth.

Someone wearing Awakening Dreamer, a sleeping mask of rose gold stops dancing as she looks towards the reflection and then over towards the Artful Mirrormask and her lips press thin. She looks at the Moon and the Wyrm around the Mirromask and tries to move through the crowd Slowly and carefully her arched so it's not straight back to the sofa as the Artful Mirrormask steps away from it, perhaps towards the frightened Burnt Wyrm.

edit: perhaps the Dreamer is moving towards the Burnt Wyrm.

Someone wearing a simple black mask carved with spirals dances and twirls, but the sudden shift in the rooms attention towards the mirror hits her like an almost physical force. She stumbles as she turns, catching herself without much trouble but thoroughly losing her graceful steps. Bright emerald eyes peer from behind the mask, watching the Mirror-woman with interest-- and less fear or shock than many around her.

It's the crowd's reaction to the woman passing through the mirror that draws the Infernal's atteniont--he'd been engrossed in the interaction with Tehom at their couch before. But suddenly he too is turning protectively to put himself between the Tigress and the mirror lady, as well as perhaps rather rashly looking as if he's preparing to jump in to protect Tehom as well, his body language taut, weapon hand flexing.

Someone wearing a starling silhouette against a summer twilight sky leather half-mask has left the Ballroom Floor.

Someone wearing a fierce tigress half-mask is not what one would call a wilting shy wallflower or anything. But she's also not monumentally stupid, and so she makes no move to draw attention to herself at this moment while the visage of Tehom draws the attention of the uh 'new arrival' more fully onto himself. Her pulse is racing, certainly, but she attempts to look outwardly calm and places her hand, quietly, on Infernal's arm to squeeze lightly in warning.

Someone wearing a faceted mirrorsilver mask studded with diamonds can perhaps be forgiven for missing that commanding gesture from her companion, because a whole person just stepped out of a mirror? All of her focus is turned that way, and her lips are parted wordlessly in obvious shock.

As the woman steps from the mirror, the pair of the Golden Hare and Fuzzy Raccoon may slow in their dancing, but they do not cease. The perceptive might realize that the Hare is steering them in such a way as to put a few more bodies between he and his partner and whatever is going on over there.

"I -don't- believe we have, you know." The woman from the mirror says as she walks further into the hall, allowing the guests to note that she does not in fact have a reflection. This is fine. "Different circles and all of that." She starts to laugh as she approaches the visage of Tehom and takes the wine from his hand, not approaching the host /yet/. Her piercing blue eyes stare at the visage of Tehom intently. "O'mighty Lord. You humble me with your offer." She says without a shred of sincerity as she drinks from the glass. "Who had you hoped to bestow your favor on this /fine/ evening? I would surely like to personally greet them." She grins as she scans the room.

Someone wearing a grey grinning shark mask cants its head at the arrival of the woman from the mirror, its focus seeming to change from curiosity to rapt attention as it tries to steel itself with its drink at the woman's conversation with the Tehom-masked one, a feat made quite difficult by a set of jaws in the way.

Someone wearing a stygian mask of coal, also, seems to be brought up short. He is entirely too still, the coal keeping his place by the diamond. Where she takes his arm, he places his hand above it, in a stilling motion. Rather than continue with any broad gestures toward the exit, he is instead remaining still as though unwilling to draw attention to the pair of them with any movement at all.

It might become apparent if anyone is still bothering to watch the hare and racoon rather than the spectre that he is more or less moving her rather stiffened form

Midstep, someone in a filigree half-mask of light and dark squeaks and stumbles into the spiral-masked individual before going down hard with her dance partner. Her own slim arms, set off by bands of star iron and diamondplate, encircle the jeweled woman on reflex, her overabundance of curls tangling about them both. She is laughing absolutely hysterically. So beset by mirth is she that she misses the moment the white-haired woman steps from the mirror. After a few seconds of straightening her tiara and helping up her partner, she regards the newcomer with keen, bright-eyed focus but for a few seconds. "Come on! We're trying that again," she grins, eyes fiery as she twirls back to her companion.

The Tigeress' touch on his arm allows the Infernal to release some of his tension, but the wariness in his body language doesn't cease, and neither does his protective stance in regards to her, and towards Tehom. However, he does nod at something said, shifting his position just a touch for some reason, still wary.

Someone wearing the visage of Tehom hands off the wine like the gentle 'God' he is. He does stand when she comes, but it also might be a defensive tactic. "Oh, my favor is not just won so easily." He pretends to look over the room but he's watching his mirror friend. "I could only pick the most daring. The most breath-taking. The most worthy of my attention, yes?" He nods his head towards the woman a bit. "So it must be you. How /would/ you personally greet yourself?"

Someone wearing tidal silk half-mask slurps on his cider.

Someone wearing a burnt book wyrm mask shrinks back into the couch, trying to put as much distance between himself and that mysterious mirror woman while casting a glance at Mirrormask and Dreamer, as if they might have an explanation.

Someone wearing a multihued half-mask of finespun mirrorsilver filigree set with a blood-red epiphanite has left the Grand Duchess Throne.

It seems that Spiral's shock has faded, because now? Now she's moving for the wine again, and now she's getting not one, but -two- glasses of a deep red vintage. Probably Lenosian Red, honestly, or the finest red wine on offer. Then? Then she's moving again, in her bright pink gown, to stand somewhere near the Mask of Tehom and the Mirror Lady, along the edge of the crowd that's surely starting to ring this.. unexpected event.

Someone wearing Awakening Dreamer, a sleeping mask of rose gold has left the Ballroom Floor.

Someone wearing Awakening Dreamer, a sleeping mask of rose gold has joined the The Impropriety Couch.

Someone wearing Awakening Dreamer, a sleeping mask of rose gold continues to weave through the crowd, using their distraction to her favor. Long legs cover much ground and she's soon at the couch she'd been seated at. Checking on those still there with concern in her body language. The Dreamer squeezes the Burnt Wyrm's shoulder lightly and murmurs to him and Lady Moon.

Someone wearing an artful and unnaturally reflective stygian mirrormask continues her slow approach. There's a sense that she's sort of putting herself between the Mirror Lady and anyone who happens to be behind her. "There's so many different circles," she agrees easily. "Easy to miss people." She watches the Visage give his favour to the new arrival, eyes briefly looking amused. For now, she remains silent and watching.

As the Visage of Tehom looks around the room and begins calling out the qualities for those who might earn his favor, many in the room might notice that the Golden Lucky Hare masked fellow raises his hand at the mention of the most breath-taking from where he stands on the dance floor. He is taller than most around him, so it is likely quite obvious.

Someone wearing a fierce tigress half-mask has a hurriedly whispered word for Infernal, keeping her hand there on his arm as if they can just continue to communicate silently that way instead of speaking (or slurping) and drawing attention to themselves. One squeeze for run, two for duck and cover?

Someone wearing tidal silk half-mask slurps very Breath-Takingly actually.

"Delenis?" It is a simple, faint whisper from the diamond-masked person, that is likely entirely lost in the ambient noise around her, but she is just staring at the mirror-stepping woman with some sense of fascinated recognition.

Someone wearing a filigree half-mask of light and dark's expression flashes with a sudden resurfacing of memory, and she nods to herself.

Someone wearing A horned lord brings the mug to his lips and sips as he continues to watch the going ons, he looks to the Tidal silk maked figure and a smirk comes across his lips.

Someone wearing a puffy mask of blue and grey smoke rises from the lap of the Fire by the scandal couch, "I think its time for the after-party", she smiles to him and invites him to join her.

Someone wearing a filigree half-mask of light and dark checks charm and performance at normal. Botch! Someone wearing a filigree half-mask of light and dark fails badly.

Someone wearing an artful and unnaturally reflective stygian mirrormask has left the The Impropriety Couch.

Someone wearing A gem encrusted stygian mask tries to (mostly ignore) the strange interaction happening by Tehom and the Mirror Lady. "One catastrophe wasn't enough? This won't end well!" Her bad luck is no doubt contagious, or perhaps the fact that her attention is split, half tending to the dance, half to observing what is happening around her. Those eyes curious, sharp, ever searching, her feet finding the ground beneath her, soft metal click, clacking on the ground as she rises, keeping hold of her light and dark companion. A brief moment, and she's leaning close, murmuring something into the ear of the raven haired maid.

The white haired demon seems to consider this for a moment before smiling once again and shaking her head. "I have carried the favor of so many. Greed doesn't become me." She gestures toward the lucky hair mask in gleaming gold. "Look, there's one bold enough to draw the attention of the esteemed Lord of the Abyss. The Abyss Himself from which I just emerg--" The faceted mirrorsilver mask draws her attention for a while. "...Have we met, dear one?" Her voice suddenly softens, as if speaking to a lost child.

Someone wearing tidal silk half-mask realizes A horned lord was smirking at him and WHY. His gaze swings to the mug and then back, whispering, "Do you think I'm daring? I'm pretty daring." He sips again.

Someone wearing a mask of vivid fire rises from the Scandal Couch with the nimble swiftness of fire. "But, we haven't even danced. I get to find out if there's been cake smuggled in?" While he keeps a watchful eye on the lady who had emerged from the mirror and her confrontation with 'Tehom', he holds out an arm for the Smoke to take so he can escort her out for the evening.

Someone wearing an Infernal Shadow Mask is carefully calm now, for all the tension in his form. Perhaps he really is able to discern communication by touch. His total face obscuring mask might give him somewhat of an advantage in also obfuscating exactly what it is that his is most attending, but there's a certain discipline in his quiet--and in holding in the restlessness. For now.

Someone wearing the visage of Tehom moves quickly. "You know..." He is moving to try and step between the wonderful mirror demon and the chestnut hued hair Mirrorsilver mask. "I was thinking that while you need not be greedy. Perhaps you would still honor me with a dance? Since you are denying my favor. You could show your elegance that way." The visage of Tehom offers his clawed hand upwards in offering to the mirror lady.

Someone wearing a mask of vivid fire has left the The Scandal Couch.

Someone wearing a puffy mask of blue and grey smoke has left the The Scandal Couch.

Someone wearing a puffy mask of blue and grey smoke leaves, following Someone wearing a mask of vivid fire.

The problem with gossamer slippers and marble floors is a distinct lack of friction, which the woman in her chiaroscuro filigree typically overcomes with her ease of motion. However, there is a flicker in a nearby mirror that steals her complete attention at just the wrong moment. She slips, kicks one of her partner's feet, and spills to the floor in a pile of silks and curls and laughter again. Straightening only to her knees, she holds her bejeweled companion's hands in hers and murmurs something in reply to her.

Someone wearing an artful and unnaturally reflective stygian mirrormask looks at the Visage when he starts trying to charm the Mirror Lady into a dance to keep her away from the Faceted Mirrorsilver Mask, eyes questioning as her head tilts slightly.

Someone wearing a faceted mirrorsilver mask studded with diamonds looks about ready to fall over when the demon addresses her, but she takes a half-step toward the figure despite the tone used. "Once," she confirms, still mostly in a whisper. "You made your mask disappear..." But then the Visage of Tehom is stepping in front of her, and she kind of deflates, trying to peer around him in abject wonder but not moving any closer or trying to side-step.

Someone wearing A horned lord chuckles nodding his head, "You are very daring." he grins as he sips more of his drink, he leans in like he is going to say something to the person next to him.

Someone wearing a shadowy elven visage is just one of many silent observers as he keeps to the alcove with Umbra.

Someone wearing a simple black mask carved with spirals takes half a step forward, towards the space between Tehom-Mask and Mirror-Lady, with the second, untouched glass of wine held out a little-- probably to offer it to one of them, though it's unclear which. She seems to have terrible timing, though, as Diamonds-on-Mirrorsilver speaks, and Tehom-Mask is stepping closer to offer Mirror-Lady a dance.. and so the bright pink dress and Spiral mask is stepping b ack once more, back into the crowd to.. more or less down the first glass of wine, and probably keep the second for herself, as well.

The demon seems taken aback by Tehom stepping between her and the faceted mirrormask. "My mask." The grin returns but her voice hardens again. "I have many." She takes the visage of Tehom's hand in hers swiftly. "If you fear for the blessed mortals who have been placed under your protection, my lord." Her mocking voice returns as she allows him to lead her to the dance floor. "You better keep me away."

Someone wearing tidal silk half-mask turns to A horned lord and leans his elbow up on the couch, resting his head into it as his legs swing toward the other. "I'm not the one that climbs trees," he responds and then considers the room, the blood red, the weirdness with the Mirrors and a lady and he laughs a bit, nervously, "I have never attended a ball like this in Cardia. The stars stayed where they belonged." He leans in, "I hope you can explain what is happening here."

Someone wearing Awakening Dreamer, a sleeping mask of rose gold takes a moment to turn towards the mirrors and to study them. The frost and the strange quality of them. Less concerned about them now or seeking answers. Lingering behind the Impropriety couch rather than seating herself.

Being upright didn't last very long! That's the bad luck. Gossamer silks, tumbling curls, another bubble of laughter! The jeweled woman in a stygian mask can't help herself, and something that her companion quietly murmurs to her has a smile touching her face. Hands clutching the alaricite clawed limbs of her companion, and it is her turn to try to help them both up. It is a comedy of errors, really, but they are having fun, on the dance floor, despite the curiosities happening all around them, the shuddering mirrors, the strange Mirror-Lady. "Shall we attempt to not crash, or give up to better pastures?"

Someone wearing Fuzzy brown raccoon uses the moment to slink off

Someone wearing Fuzzy brown raccoon has left the Ballroom Floor.

1 Knight of the Temple, 1 Templar Knight guards, Luzio, the burly Mirrormask, a tall and silent woman with only one hand leave, following Someone wearing an artful and unnaturally reflective stygian mirrormask.

Someone wearing a lucky hare mask in gleaming gold has left the Ballroom Floor.

Someone wearing a faceted mirrorsilver mask studded with diamonds is perhaps looking a bit sourly after the Visage of Tehom, but she soon turns back to Coal, slipping beneath his arm rather than retaking her hold upon it and looking up to his half-masked face as if checking in following her brief chat with a demon.

Someone wearing A horned lord watches as the legs come up and his gloved hands rest on the others thigh. "I will try after all this is over, I am still not sure myself." his eyes looks to tidal then back watching everything go on.

Someone wearing a filigree half-mask of light and dark smirks, clasping the hands of her gem-masked friend. "I think we can correct our course, but let's do it somewhere else. Mm?" She gives one hand a gentle little squeeze, the tips of her talons just grazing. "I have someone we could surprise," she intones in a more mischievous murmur, her smile growing.

Someone wearing the visage of Tehom lowers into a grand bow as he takes her hand to lead her to the dance floor (Careless Whisper anyone) and presses his mask to the back of her hand. "Care? What is there of care in a world that burns while we live?" The deep rumble of his voice as he most assuredly directs her away from the mortals he was around and Mirrorsilver's too much attention. "Tell me, My Lady, what would you wish to have granted to you this evening."

Someone wearing A gem encrusted stygian mask slips her arm around the lady in light and dark, offering a nod as she gestures for her companion to guide the way. It might be for the best, honestly. "Indeed, let us go."

Someone wearing the visage of Tehom has left the The Misconduct Couch.

Someone wearing a filigree half-mask of light and dark flutters a scintillating wave of alaricite claws over her shoulder before flouncing from the room with her friend by her side.

A glass of wine down, and only one in hand, Spirals appears to be struck by a thought-- One that takes her towards the very mirror that the demon came out of. The moon is still so red, the room still so full, throbbing with the beat of drums. Spirals taps so lightly on the surface of the mirror. Watching, testing. Curious.

Someone wearing a filigree half-mask of light and dark has left the Ballroom Floor.

Someone wearing A gem encrusted stygian mask leaves, following Someone wearing a filigree half-mask of light and dark.

Someone wearing an Infernal Shadow Mask remains watchful over the Tigeress, but also over Tehom, especially in those moments when the lady of the Mirror accepts his invitation and the two move onward towards the dance floor. Only when they are well underway does he rise carefully, with a murmured word to the Tigress, offering her his arm.

Someone wearing a fierce tigress half-mask gives the Infernal masked man a solemn nod, allowing him to help her up while she casts a last concerned glance over her shoulder and almost gives a grimace. But, she upnods towards the exit and doesn't put up a fuss about now being a good time to probably... you know... escape.

The demon dances with the visage of Tehom, her feet barely seeming to touch the floor as she moves. She says something quietly.

Someone wearing Awakening Dreamer, a sleeping mask of rose gold leans over to speak to the two at the couch again.

Someone wearing stormy silk half-mask has left the Ballroom Floor.

Someone wearing an Umbra mask adorned with silver stars rises from her seat, tucks her hand into the crook of the arm of the shadowy elven visage, careful to leave his crow headed cane hand free as the two skirt the dance floor and start toward the exit.

Someone wearing the visage of Tehom is not as graceful, but he's had a /little/ bit of training here. Stealing things. Stealing hearts. He dances with the demon lady like it's just another woman. His favored. He drops his voice to talk in softer tones.

Someone wearing an Infernal Shadow Mask needs no further encouragement once the nod is given and the Tigeress' hand is secured comfortably in the crook of his arm. At a sedate but swift pace, he leads her through the crowd with probably quite a few others, making their way out for the evening.

Someone wearing a stygian mask of coal turns his mask slowly to face the diamond when she is attempting to tuck herself beneath his arm. He extracts it, but it is not a sharp rebuff, for he offers his arm and reaches for her hand to place it there. As soon as contact is made he navigates the long way around the ballroom and is finally moving to escape with his escort.

Splinter, the golden-eyed osprey arrives, following Someone wearing Hunting Osprey.

Someone wearing tidal silk half-mask stands up from the couch and nods the A horned lord, "Shall we go view the stars and the moon? I need some fresh air."

Someone wearing a faceted mirrorsilver mask studded with diamonds is quite a bit more reserved than when she entered, taking the offered arm of her escort and quietly following him through the crowd toward the exit, her gaze drawn even now toward the dance floor.

Someone wearing a faceted mirrorsilver mask studded with diamonds is overheard praising Jaenelle.

Someone wearing a burnt book wyrm mask gets up from the couch and leaves as quietly as he arrived without a look behind.

Someone wearing a burnt book wyrm mask has left the The Impropriety Couch.

Someone wearing a grey grinning shark mask notices that the ballroom quickly becomes empty with the distraction of the mirror-visitor and after draining the remainder of its libation, it rises from its seat and determines that discretion is indeed the better part of valor and makes its exit as well.

Someone wearing a grey grinning shark mask has left the Libertine Table.

As passing clouds shroud the red moon, the room falls to darkness. There are banging sounds from the other side of the mirror. The clanging of fists against glass.

Someone wearing the visage of Tehom is listening to the din and watching as the people filter out away from the glass demon. Surely, it's not a demon. Just a trick of the lights and the Lyceum setting the mood. He does continue to dance and talk to the just-a-normal-lady totally-not-going-to-end-in-his-death.

When the light of the moon is seen once again, and the room is illuminated, the woman is gone and the clanging from the other side subsides.

Someone wearing Hunting Osprey starts a little at the sound of the banging and their stance adjusts into almost a stance ready for fighting. "What the...?"

Someone wearing Awakening Dreamer, a sleeping mask of rose gold watches for another few moments. Black eyes tense before she pulls herself to her full height and she turns fully towards a mirror and tries to make out the source of the sound. Visible lips pulling into a line of concern. She looks towards the Ospery and gestures towards the dance floor.

Someone wearing the visage of Tehom is overheard praising Jaenelle.
