Is there a word for that feeling one gets when one finds a thing they've been looking for that has been right there in front of them for months? It lacks the elation of discovery, kindles only the desire for a strong drink and so much head shaking.

Dust is not a problem of the lower boroughs. Dust is an Arvum problem. It is the lies of Ruby's smile that so many falls for, trapped, even our own Knights of Solace. I am not for one for waging war on an object, but I will wage one on every single user and pusher of Ruby's lies.

This entry has been made with the voice of the scribe, Admiral Alrec came to the archives, drunk, and demanded we release Tris Magaldi. After being convinced she wasn't being held prisoner in the archives, he left but not before demanding an entry was written because, in his words, only nerds come to the archive to read and not write anything.

Our song really took off, I'm pleased to say. I've heard it sung late at nights in many a tavern and even joined in a few times - it's funny when I do that and they don't know they're singing with one of the authors.

I've seen some hilarious stunts happening too, with only a few minor incidents. The Iron Guard DID step in and helped down an overjoyous young woman from a roof as she was going to jump into a cart of hay below - I thought that was a bit overzealous, I'm sure she would've been fine. I mean, the cart was over six feet wide and like nearly twelve feet long and there must've been oh, I don't know, at least a couple of feet of hay on there. Or manure. It was a bit hard to tell, it was quite dark.

I paid her fines, I mean, felt only right. I'm not sure what the fines were /for/ - I think it was something akin of 'unlawful use of roofs'. But I wasn't entirely sober myself, and the fines weren't that high, wasn't much to argue about. I did try to talk the Iron Guards into doing a race WITH that horse and cart around the block, to which they said they'd be happy to escort me to the Iron Jail to spend the night, to which I said I already had a place to stay for the night, thank you very much, and they said that they would let me stay there for free, to which I replied that I almost never pay for anywhere I sleep.

I believe I won the argument as they left us to wander onwards.

Yesterday I sang Princess Sorrel's Ode to Copper. I was asked if I could sing one of the songs of the Metallics that she wrote, and that one felt right. It was received well, which also pleased me. I fancy that I can sing, if not on the level of some of our very well respected bards and singers of Arx.

Oh, and also, our work on planning out the farms and infrastructure back in Ashford lands continues. I got some very good assistance on things military and how to get new people there as safely as might be. There are very good people here who really know what they are doing. I am thrilled to be working on good things like this.

I have recently equated the losses I have felt as being one of four carriage wheels. For years these wheels moved with similar purpose, for years they were in unison to fulfill the goals that were set before them, each one with a role in traversing the bumps, and holes, and obstacles that were on the road before us. Slowly the wheel beside me left, the wheel I relied most heavily on to keep balance, he was my partner, and he is gone. Next the other two before us could no longer remain, yet the carriage was expected to move forward, always forward. The only problem is that there was only a single wheel left, just one to keep the carriage as it once was.

The carriage must always move forward, that is the only constant, and overtime I have been blessed with new wheels to see that it does so. Different wheels, but strong and determined never the less. And now...I find that I am no longer simply one of the wheels, but the driver of the carriage.

...Welp. I suppose that was inevitable.

If you see a group of rowdy sailors from the Terrapin in the taverns and it looks like they're suddenly feeling an inclination to burst into song, please remind them that shore leave is dependent on them NOT doing that.

If they then proceed to sing anyway, please murder them.

Thank you.

One by one upon white shores,
The pearly waves are laid;
Each one a new and pristine thing,
Which Mangata made.

Forth from a cauldron ever old,
They swell, forever young;
The softest, dreamy chords
Of the hymn the deep sea sung.

The surge echoes in whispers,
I listen endlessly;
Always, my soul shall resonate
With an aquatic melody.

Good Lord Crovan - I have only just had the opportunity to read your kind, public, works and with to pay proper thanks to them.

It truly was a pleasure to see not just you, but many others, learn a few basic steps and have themselves proper ready for when the next ball may call upon us to be upon the dance floor.

Your steps were excellent and, well, soon. We shall have to have a social drink.
