I am looking into adding to Sparte's list of alcohol of Arx. I have already added to the list but I am looking for more. If you have a vintage, rum, whiskey, vodka anything that is in your collection let me know so I can update the list.

Working with Sparte and Macda on this. Thank you!

If you approach that ship and you are not a messenger delivering a reply straight from the King, you are an impossible idiot. Stay away from it. Stay away from both of them. These people do not play around, and you aren't going to gain some advantage by being the first moron to try to make friends.

"As Arx endures, we remember"

These are particularly 'interesting' times we find ourselves in. Keep these words in mind as both history and future unravels itself to us.

I don't know anything about the Undying Emperor, but I have a hunch that his name is Phillip and he began life as the son of a simple tanner in a small village far to the South of the Lyceum. There the young boy led a happy and simple life until one day when exploring with his friends, he fell into a deep cave and came across a strange, glowing green stone.

The stone was unpleasant to the touch and so the boy simply hid it away and all but forgot about it until the next year when a vicious tribe of Shavs swept through, pillaging and killing. His father died and his childhood sweetheart was carried off with the tribe. Distraught and without hope, Phillip ran to where he had hid the stone and clutched it tight, the experience grew steadily more and more unpleasant until his whole body shook with tremors but still he clutched it.

Then all of a sudden it came to him, the power, the deepest and darkest of powers, that with which life and death itself could be controlled. With his stone he could call the dead back into service as warriors and restore life to those afflicted by sickness or even age. So he raised up the body of a long dead steed and rode out after the Shav tribe with preternatural speed.

In a few days he caught up to them, and raising the bodies of all the fallen animals from the forest in a dozen miles he attacked the camp, what tribal warriors came near to him he touched with his hand which was wreathed in emerald fire and the life went instantly out of them. He found his childhood sweetheart but he was to her eyes an unliving monster wreathed in emerald flame and she fled screaming, he ran after her but as he caught her the life too left her body and she fell limp in his embrace.

He used his power to return her to life, but what came back just a creature. So he moved on, driven by nothing now but the hollow desire for power he used his great army to conquer an empire, and to sustain his own youth indefinitely. Today he sit eternal on a throne of bone, with nothing but the husk of his childhood love beside him for company.

Such curious wonders that I have only until now read about find their way to our shores. Representatives of the Undying Emperor and of Cardia. As a Scholar, I find this fascinating. To see ships from lands we have so rarely heard of. It is a Scholar's dream to record such a moment in history. I will be watching closely.

So. Ambassadors with an offer. It is for the Dominus to respond for the Faith, I speak only as a simple man. But I am inclined to suggest that people only tell you that everything is lost when in truth there are still options other than the one they offer. Otherwise they would force the issue and let it move to its natural resolution.

The Gods and the Compact have seen us through over a thousand years - and the Gods gave us our greatest gift in our freedom. I would not be minded to give that away - I would die a freeman, even on my knees at the headman's block, rather than a long life as a slave.

But, the Gods also gave us guides to our conduct, and these people as long as they act with honour should be viewed as our guests. And people should behave appropriately.

Relationship Note on Ysabel

I have seen your journal describing a sense of connection between things. You're in an exciting and frightening place, the cusp of putting something new together. I don't know what you're learning, or where it will bring you, but I wish you only courage and success.

Given my feelings earlier, I went to the Hall of Heroes, and sat by Copper's statue there. I made sure to read all the inscriptions in the main hall, spending some time reflecting on these Heroes and their sacrifices, and then went over to the statue of Copper.

They believed in us, and in return all we can do is remember them.

I went down to the docks this morning to look at the unnatural ship with the unnatural sails, and met Prince Galen who was doing the same as I. He was polite and amicable, and not at all cut from the same cloth as other Thraxians that I've met in the past. He has a thirst, a love for adventuring upon the water, and as sad as it might be, I am coming to realise that I must be the only person in all of Arval that holds the views that I hold.

I will continue to pray to Mangata, and to ask Her for Her blessings upon those that are driven to sail on Her seas.

I have no idea what to say. I know I should say something important, pithy, or even amusing, but I can't think of any such thing.

I suppose we will see what happens next.

Oh! I did have an interesting conversation with some friends at the coffee shop. It was fun and entertaining and interrupted by the gossip swirling around Arx.
