The baby came! And wouldn't you know it, she came while I was out on patrol. By the time the message found me and I got home, Mom and baby were sleeping peacefully. So I didn't get to hold her yet. I can hardly wait! She's so tiny and beautiful.

Relationship Note on Katarina
Some may hate the cold winter weather, but last night it had a charming effect of bringing together friends and strangers at the Vellichorian Academy for a fun game of Princess Katarina's mad but delightful mind. It was clever and silly and dramatic all at once, and I quite enjoyed myself and the company of those present. I look forward to more such games and gatherings, no matter the weather.

My darling goose you are three months old! There are smiles and baby belly laughs and you grow more aware with each passing day! You tease us with trying to roll over but never quite make it--perhaps because I am loathe to put you down the times I see you and just want to hold you and cuddle you all day! You are so fat! It is just darling! Your rosy cheeks and golden curls (all at the very top of your head) are inspiring! You certainly recognize your father and I know and are all smiles for everyone you ever meet! Elizabetta tells me she has never seen a happier baby in all of her life!

It has been an interesting week. I have made a new friend. Well, perhaps more than a friend. Not sure where that is going, but our time together is very happy, if not confusing. I've seen some new places that are even more inspiring than I thought possible. Plus I have secured help from my sister and cousins to locate someone important to me. Hopefully this good fortune continues.

Ah, but striving for the impossible is exhausting, so perhaps choose a select one or few things to strive impossibly for at a time. Unless you like being perpetually exhausted, or are marvelously tireless. I like lying on my back and looking at the stars sometimes. But art is as often driven by our failures and our periods of watchful quiet as it is by our laborious successes. It is perhaps a spoiled cycle, but here we are.
(As a side note, though, I can't say I ever much cared for platinum, though. Simply not my aesthetic.)

It's good to keep their needs in mind, but Abandoned that were living in the Gray Forest are almost certainly more used to Arxian winters than a number of people who have been living in the city for years. The trouble is whether or not they have access to the necessary materials and housing to take care of themselves.

I've taken on more and more commissions and it is a very fulfilling thing to see a content customer. My only regret on doing this, is that it keeps the shop more empty as I can only paint so much.
The work in the Iron Guard is more interesting and rewarding than ever. Working with the Knights of Solace in training their new knights, sharing my knowledge as a Prodigal in Arx and doing physical training (thanks again Dame Esoka for your training those months back, I can now train men on my own using the same method... There's already been some throwing up.)
I look forward to that dog contest, too.

Relationship Note on Miranda
An apt student for small weapons lessons. She admittedly prefers to use larger weapons so adjusted the way I teach to include more practice on how to defend from small weapons. Hopefully she will never need to use those techniques, but just in case, she has been shown them.
