Relationship Note on Calypso

I think we Lycenes have perhaps been going about this whole poison thing the wrong way...

We should use hot chocolate with cinnamon... far more dangerous by my way of thinking...

What say you, Duchess?

I find myself with cause to get unwisely drunk. If any friends would like to join in ritual alcohol poisoning, let’s meet. First round on me.

Adora and Gilroy: No.

Relationship Note on Jeffeth

I write plenty! Usually it's just also to make fun of people. I'm basically a giant huggable idiot in person, though. I just get annoyed when I see blah blah honor honor so on and so forth or people not -doing- anything to make the world how they want it.

I'm more the type to share drinks with than the Rite type, though. I'm told people get cross when you take money to perform a rite of Gloria.

The Master of Questions has gifted me a very fine dairy cow. I have decided to set up a sideline in the Royal Stables selling creamy refreshments, spiked with rum.

Alternatively, I will use the cow's milk to supplement the feed of the barn kittens and begin laying the foundation of my kitten empire.

(Why he had a dairy cow in the first place? Don't ask.)

Studying the history of our family has become my new task as Bisland's Minister of Histories. Damn you Michael, "confining me" to the study! Nonetheless, I hope to do it well and not disappoint.

Secrets lie upon these pages...and I shall do my best to decipher them.

Relationship Note on Lisebet

It was so wonderful to see Harlan well along into his recovery, and better still, with a lady visitor to wish him well in his recovery. Lady Lisebet herself proved fascinating company, as she shared some interests in the recent Lodge happenings. I do hope we can speak more, and that she might continue to find my brother's company tolerable!

I accompanied the Lord Maddox Deepwood to gather his new armor from Master Felix's establishment. The equipment was stunning! Splendid job by the craftsman.

On another note, Maddox looked so grand and intriguing in those garments...I admit I couldn't take my eyes off of him.

I have been sitting on a veritable bundle of shadowcat pelts for some months now. In a life of umbra, seasilk and aeterna, it is easy to forget how amazing some of the other materials in the world feel - and yet, there is a shiver that runs through me when I run my fingers against the leather, knowing that this might be the difference between life and death very soon.

I've sent the first bundle to the leatherworker and received my designs back - and they came out even more stunning than I had hoped. Gods, I feel truly myself when I am wearing this.

Today I went to the winter celebration at the Academy of War. It was a lovely event, very enjoyable.

Lord Maddox Deepwood was my escort, I'm growing quite fond of him.

I saw my cousin Michael at the event. He seemed to be pestering the Baron Norwood; and boy, if glares could kill I fear for the life of my dear cousin.

On another note, he decided to name me Minister of Histories for Bisland. I am to now research some specific events with the aid of Lady Delilah Whitehawk and himself.

This is a poor season for planting or building, the ground is hard and it's miserable outside at times, not to mention the lack of sun. It is, however, a good time for planning to do those things, once spring blesses us again.

The secret is out, so there's no sense in keeping it out of the official record.

I have no mind for the names of plants, beyond the most basic, and thus those apothecaries that master the natural wonders of our world will always impress me.

I have grown weary of the snow by now. I long for the days when I can walk without having to bundle myself up under furs and cloth to keep from freezing to death. I do, however, enjoy watching grown men getting pegged in the face with snowballs.

I had originally left, needing a break from the city, but have returned perhaps sooner then I or my family thought I would. But I am happy I have, and I hope to catch up with them more in the coming days.

What makes a legacy? Many things I'd say. Perhaps the most important of which is the strength of one's bloodline. What we do now, everything you as an individual do will reflect upon your family. Your parents and your children. Your children's children. An ancestor creates the base for one to ascend to. Then it is their duty to raise beyond that base - or at the very least, make an effort worthy of its status.

I hope that when my children look back upon their family line, they will know that they are descended from greatness. They will know that it is their duty to carry that greatness onward. For their legacy is our legacy. Our legacy will endure when all who live today are gone back to the Wheel. Remember that one day, you too will be an ancestor to someone.

When they look upon your life they should see something worth aspiring to.

I do like the winter, though seems like it snows all the time. The whole city is covered with it, it would seem! I am thinking about making treats with the snow as well!

Relationship Note on Acantha

My newest protege and a vassal to my house. As a prodigal noble she faces a steep expectation not only of her but her family. Baron Kritr has made inroads with festivals and the tour of Legate Bianca, formerly Archscholar, through his lands. I expect Lady Acantha to only further bring Clearlake into the Compact and mayhap strengthen some of the traditionalist northern mores I hold so dear to myself.

Starting to see the little joys of city life, a night of song and legend by Princess Sorrel, and the most remarkable of necklaces on display--the one them folk are all talking of.

A day or two past, drinks by the sands in the Golden Hart.

I think a man can get to like it here.
