Then there's my older brother who's just the best! I mean, really! Who else would put up with me as their little sister? I'm a teensie bit clumsy, I'm easily distracted, I hunt birds, I talk way too much, I send way too many messengers, I hug, I gift my own artwork, I knit uneven scarves, I still tag along, oh and I sometimes cry for no reason... I feel your pain, Luca! And I love you to pieces.

I recited a very long entry about my siblings to a scholar, only to find out that he nodded off pretty quickly and lost my entire entry.
It was very frustrating and I'm honestly a little angry about it.
It's so annoying when scholars lose your entire entry.
And you ask the scholar to go back and you hope that maybe the entry is there on his scroll? But when he looks, no, the entry is gone.
So instead here is a list of my siblings, ranked from my favorite to my loved but due to history have a complicated relationship with.
Renatta/Elara (tied, two of the three people closest to me I have ever known, both departed, each taking a piece of me with them)
Constantine (I will always be his wingman, but any ladies need to know that he is a VERY GOOD BOY and they need to treat him RIGHT and not be careless if they PLUCK HIS FLOWER. Haha. Humiliating my little brother is my life.)
Cecilia (Used to be a social butterfly. Has spent so much time in Stormward she's probably more of a social gargoyle at this point. Had very large ears growing up.)
Ford (We were practically strangers most of our life. I respect him for much of what he has done, revile him for some. I will always defend him if someone decides to take me to task for his deeds, but I will also always be on hand to make fun of him when he needs it.)
Fizzlewyck, the Troll (Fizzlewyck was a troll my parents adopted who ate babies and only knew how to say blasphemies and ALSO had bad personal hygiene)
Octavia (Just another mother. And I didn't like my mother.)

I have no siblings that I am aware of. My Mother has certainly never had another child, but it is possible my father had sired others. He was a sailor from Eurus, their romance a whirlwind before he had to sail away and has of yet never returned to Arx. Who knows, maybe I have a dozen siblings out there, one in every port his ship would stop at.
For some reason my mother never felt the urge to have another child after having me.

Just because they are not nobility from Arvum does not make them 'common'. Was *anything* about that place common? No. Also, why do you feel it necessary to denigrate commoners because of the actions of some insane foreign heathens? I understand your upset, but there is no reason for your ire to be directed towards the good upstanding folk of the Compact.

We must each of us remember where we came from I suppose, little sister. And where we are going. Too often though we forget where we are.
As I started calling you little sister in affection, and to remind you of humility as you began your meteoric rise, now it fits much better as nothing of what we achieve now would be possible without your help over time. You are in many ways not what I think of when I think of a Knight, especially a Knight of the Faith, yet there are few I would trust as deeply as I do you. In that, you teach me a lesson about many ways there are to honour the Gods, and that the ideals of the Faith I hold to, the ways in which I worship as an Orthodox, are not the only way. Nor the measure of if someone is worthy.

All my siblings are twins, older and younger than me. Then there is just me. No twin.

We lost many Templars that day - tens of thousands who fell at the beaches, in the mountain pass, those who got separated with Grandmaster Armel of the Solace. Lord Armand was I was only just getting to know as a Templar, but he answered my every task with a fervor that had already earned my respect. For his service House Farshaw will always have my thanks. It is probably no surprise to many... but I suck at gift giving. Especially gift giving with a deadline. Thank you, however, to the person who sent me a small something to help keep my boots smelling fresh. Hopefully those I know and love appreciate my own version of random gift day, which is.... so random there is no day for it. It just happens when the mood, inspiration, or seeing the JUST RIGHT thing to buy someone strikes me.
It is pleasing to see all the smiles around town though, many brought about by either giving or receiving gifts on this day of gifting. So, thank you to Tikva and Grayson for starting the tradition. Joy is always spread most easily through the smiles of others.

Clearly, everyone who has siblings has a different take on what it means to have them, to be a brother or a sister. Being the oldest of twelve, for me it meant never being alone. Never. At times, that could definitely be frustrating, but now that I am in Arx, it is a comfort to know I have that sort of backing. This is especially true now that some of them are here with me.

On siblings:
I threaten to stab my brother in the foot all the time. He deserves the threat, usually. He's a brat and at times a troublemaker.... though he's tempered that a bit.
That said.... I also know my brother would have my back if I was ever in need of someone having my back. We may bicker, frequently, but the fact remains, we are siblings and protective of one another in our own ways.
Oh.. but now I have a lovely staff to threaten him with too. I am sure it will only be a matter of time before I have cause. The first one though, will be for Mirk.

I promise I've been working on being more responsible and more reliable.
My post as House Grayson's minister of Civil Welfare is certainly helping me focus, and I am eternally grateful to the House, especially Princess Tikva, Princess Lark, and His Majesty.
I may be a bit of a...well, the word 'flake' has been used by my sister and a few friends of mine. But when I want something badly, I buckle down well.
You'll see!

I'm not sure what exactly prompted the discussion on siblings, but I grew up with 2 older brothers and an older sister. Ryhalt is Duke now, and I still get to spend time with him. Armand died in Stormwall. Elsbetta has only recently come to Arx to join us - really recently, a matter of a day or two!
I am very glad to have my family and to be able to cherish the time I get to spend with them.

I have come to truly adore Random Gift Day. Not for receiving gifts, but for the endeavor of finding just the right something or other for someone and especially those I hold close to my heart. Throughout the year I often think after some event or discussion, 'I suspect this person might enjoy having a thing related to this,' and the holiday allows me to go ahead and do that.
