Someone mentioned siblings in passing earlier today. A brief glance over some of the journals written earlier today and yesterday and the day before suggests this has been the topic of late.
To my knowledge, I have no siblings. But when I asked my stepfather Norwood if he meant to sire children with my mother, his answer was, and I quote, 'My dear, yes'. This was after a coughing fit, I don't think he expected me to ask, but I was quite curious. It never occurred to me, however young my mother is I wasn't sure if she meant to have more children. I am thankful I've not put her off the notion.
So, here is to siblings: may I have at least a dozen.

I have met all sorts of odd and wonderful people. Of course this is probably easier because I'm not yet doing anything particularly stressing. But soon I will. May the Gods be with me.

Brothers? Sisters? I've got dozens, hundreds, some say thousands. On every street of the lowers, in every back alley, in manors and servants quarters around the Compact. In jail cells, and vast seats of power. Every child who walked or was carried through the doors of the Tragedy, and lived long enough to walk out on their own shares a kinship of survival and no matter how high or far they get, and should never forget where they come from.

I knew I would not like the answers that I sought. Ignorance is bliss.

Things I've learned today: not many like orange leather. An acceptable lesson. A fetching color in sapphires, though, as well as those exquisite Gemecittan quartz gemstones I can never seem to get enough of.

Oh, so the other day I received the most THOUGHTFUL of gifts. It wasn't for me though, it was for Princess Sally Acorn. It is a bed with acorns stitched upon it. Perfect for little baby squirrels to sleep upon.
Lord Riagnon really is special.

The support from other family members to have children so mine could be surrounded by peers without my needing to physically provide these peers is beautiful and heart warming.
I have been quiet throughout the last few months, perhaps because I wished to preserve this to memory. I wished it to be a personal experience between my husband, myself, and our child. With the time coming soon for the birth, I thought it time to preserve it also to the journals. I have always wished there were more to read about my parents, more to cling to than memories so I am keeping that in mind for my baby firefly.
Throughout my pregnancy, I have tried to stay positive regardless of the discomforts that are the norm with growing a small person, always turning to the good. Yes my feet hurt but.... Yes, I am tired but... But I am protecting and nurturing and providing for another person. This person has made me look at my limitations in a different light, made me see my strengths as more than such. They have made me wish to be even better in all things, and it is my hope that I will be someone that he or she can be proud of even if I am no longer around to make them so. Time will tell, and soon you will be here to share everything with.
Know that you are, and always will be, loved.

A jeweler which is quite kind, as well as quite skilled with her Craft. We recently assisted in recovering her jewels. I hope to make orders from her sometime perhaps.

I am reminded we have much to learn of the world, so much more to it than Arvum. Although, with the fact we can't explore as much as we might like because of limited selection of ships, I suppose that will have to wait!

I am reminded that we were supposed to enjoy some tea sometime soon. I have a very mild blend you might find appealing, kissed with just a hint of summer peach.

I like to think I have the best sot of siblings. We are all different in many ways, but there is a deep bond between the four of us that is unwavering. I would do anything for Leona, Galen, and Valerius, and I am certain this sentiment is shared.
On the other hand, Gordon will not have a brother or sister for some time and will have to settle for cousins.

This Gift Giving Guide gifted to me on Grayson Gift Giving Day is incredibly informative /and helpful/. /And/. Fun to say! There's even a whole subchapter here on how to respond to somebody who asks for gifts they've given back. Only -- what sort of individual would even think to do such a thing? Seems to me that behavior might be indicative of all other sorts of takesies-backsies.

I'm so used to being a scandal that when the days come that I'm offered respect it is almost shocking.
Unless it comes out of Velenosa...for the Lyceum has had my back since the start.
But we're all scandals in the south I suppose.

I'm glad to hear that you didn't die from that unfortunate mishap with the stairs. We would be bereft without you, I am certain. It sounds like your sister got the better end of that wager.
The Scholar hats are a nice suggestion. We should look into what can be done to make actual Scholars more easy to recognize.

I'm afraid this was my error. He wasn't a scholar after all. He just looked very smart and I was understandably confused. Perhaps scholars should start wearing nice hats so this sort of thing doesn't occur. Obviously the moment I realized he was asleep I should have known he wasn't truly a scholar, but I was only halfway through my story about the time that Renatta dared me to jump down the stairs of Stormwatch Tower while wearing a rubicund chestplate and wanted to finish it. She had bet that I would die and I bet that I wouldn't. I won! Though I did break my collarbone, my arm and three ribs. Still, I got her dessert for a whole month, so things evened out.
Once again, I do apologize for suggesting a scholar would ever fall asleep on the job. The scholars I have known have all been stand-up individuals who take their jobs very seriously.

I have two brothers. One is dead. The other is fifteen years my junior, and afflicted with the same wanderlust as me. We haven't seen each other in years, but we've never been close to begin with. Perhaps one day he'll rejoin us in Arx. If nothing else, we can commiserate about how much quieter it was before coming here.
P.S. Khanne - The only time I'm surprised at Arik's lack of tact is when I thought he was asleep. Any other time the inevitable will happen, usually sooner rather than later.

Please send me the name of this scholar who lost your journal entry. We will have words. This sounds highly suspect. A Scholar's first duty is to safeguard the words of gods and men.

My sisters are alive and well in Whitehold. Many of their children are in Arx. My brother is no longer with us, but his children, too, are here in Arx and thriving.
And I know he would be very proud of them. I know I am.
Even when they are putting utterly ridiculous things in the whites.
