I have been so busy with things as of late that I forgot my birthday passed. They are going to put me out of the Tower again and tell me I need to talk to people. We have made some good changes in Telmar and I think they'll be good for the future of the House. We have a Hound Coursing coming up that I hope people enjoy as well.

I'm on a recruiting spree lately. I've asked several people if they wanted to be Champions and got several jousters who have replied to my petition for more. The Champions just keep growing and growing! I love it.

Relationship Note on Austen
Apparently, it seems the door leading out of the shop is some magic (not really, Inquisition - turn of phrase) Ferron wish-granting door. Austen and I joked about it, after something happened a couple of days ago. "Haha, lets ask the door for something else," we said at the time, laughing, and then did. "They say be careful what you wish for," I said, still chuckling. No shit. Our laughter was much more wry today. While surely just a coincidence, I've no plans to ask the door for anything else. Ever. At least not with combined sibling power.

So I joined the Champions at the behest of Caspian Wild and my husband, thinking nothing would come of it.
And then, hours later, Prince Edain needed a jouster for his duel against Duke Laurent. And I stepped in to do it, after handing off Kyrios to High Lord Victus (who absolutely does know how to operate a baby). I rode my sorrel mare again, and it took just one run to knock Aleksei off his horse. He was extremely gracious about it, considering that I knocked the wind out of him doing it.
It was glorious fun, I have to admit. Better than watching, although I think I prefer jousting to regular swordplay.

Despite all the new and very happy things in my life, I find I am saddened by the news of late. But I have faith things will be as they should be.
Though for some things there is no repair. It is a time to mourn and hopefully begin to overcome heartache and then heal.
For others, well, these are magical times and we have all seen no end of miracles happen. And perhaps for all the terrible happenings and unkindnesses, maybe there will be good out of it. Or at least a fair reaping of what is sown in the past that will ring things true again.
It is all we can pray for and work towards. And in that, perhaps good things and a just reward will come.
Which reminds me to be more careful of what seeds are set in my own gardens. It would not do to reap ill reward for silly outbursts based on hurt pride. Especially when my heart is opposite of my actions.
There is much to consider.

As fine an archer as I've ever seen. Not a bad teacher, either. Any thick-headed son of a rock can fire a crossbow, but a regular bow takes a bit of finesse. She got my stance worked out real nice-like. Grouping, that's what it's about. Grouping. I won't forget.

Interesting, the ways you stumble upon people.
I didn't imagine that six of us hauling an enormous brute of a man halfway across the city would be much of a bonding experience with a Princess. Frankly, I didn't imagine a Princess would even consider getting her hands dirty on some ragamuffin literally lifted out of the gutter in the Lowers. Coraline proved me spectacularly wrong, on both counts.
I'm also pleasantly surprised that Calaudrin didn't dropkick me out the door for putting quarantined lunatics in the cells.
