I should have done these journal entries a couple months ago! Catching up on urban nuances has been somewhat confusing, but I am coping well despite my constant desire to GET OUT, especially with many new friends (as well as my first lover: Master Valarian Harrow). City life never feels too bad when in their intriguing presence(s)! Every day, I sincerely thank the Spirits for those who have generously helped me to come so far so soon. Thank you so much!

I finally acclimated to my new home (and also have the best land lady anyone could ever hope for: Shaman Clara Crovane). Daily work (for the best boss man anyone could ever hope for: Lord Arik Halfshav) is going well, and I have been recently accepted as a new protege unto a fine patron: Marquessa Sasha Sanna (who already proved to be an extraordinary teacher in research techniques). Sometimes, I also work part time for our High Lord (Prince Darren Redrain), a great leader who sincerely cares for every person from his Northern climes. Mistress Eilonwy Thunderoak and Master Arthen Dayne are kindred servants with whom I already feel quite close (most likely due to our relatable stations).

Dame Morrighan and Dame Ida Ferron have both been exceptional teachers to me, helping out with martial arts. Commandant Violet Sandreef-Marjawn (along with devoted husband Sir Thorley Sandreef) have been great help in armed sparring along with The Gauntlet (which Dame Alexis Wyrmfang first showed me), too. Master Torian Culler at Lowers Leather exceptionally crafted all my leathers. Master Felix Meadson at Seaborn Weaponry exceptionally crafted all my weapons.

Drink your tea! You can even use it to wash down the rumored copious amounts of food you eat.

I'm reading a lot about family planning in the whites today. Any advice there?

There is no such thing as an unplanned child; there are only ill-prepared parents.

Relationship Note on Amantha

A new attachment, and a Healer and Mercy with the Guard. She is nice enough, and it serves well to have people to heal people on the fields and work as a combatant also.

Same! Horses, hounds, otters, and the occasional elk.

My next goal is to locate a falconer and talk apprenticeship.

Do I know how to train a hound.

I'm almost insulted. Of course I do.

Otters, too

One minute you are having the best and weirdest night of your life then next morning the place you stay is being condemned for 'unsafe' and 'unfit' living conditions. Humbug. Ah, well. It is time to move on, anyway.

Suppose I will miss the rats in the wall most of all; Cheesy, Rot-face, Prince Tom. My good boys. Keep on being you, you little monsters.

Seems like I have already some fine offers. Been on a winning streak lately. Tumbling through change after change.

I can finally get a big mean cat now though, like I always wanted. Without having to worry about it killing my sweet boys.

In my black heart I know they are out there raising trouble. Chewing up the support beams of some unsuspecting home. Bless.

Relationship Note on Sparte

Hello, Officer Sparte (again)!

I've seen your Whites. I think perhaps Wilhelm has the wrong idea of the matter entirely. But I'll move the box to be an offering. I don't think it would be very practical in the wall, but it's very pretty. It's a small cigarillo tin, so no, there are no jewels in it, and I don't think there ever were.

I was sent a message asking why I asked your opinion rather than making an executive decision on my own, so I'll let you know my thoughts on that too. I think that, since the wall was your inspiration, it's only right to ask your opinion. I mean, I don't want to stifle that inspiration, and it seems to me that whatever sight you dreamed of when you saw this wall full of everyone's painted stones in offering should be nourished. It's only right. That doesn't mean I have to take your opinion unless I agree with it, though, which is the part I think people miss about inquiries like that.

To Lady Monique, who left that cigarillo tin: I'm afraid it will have to be moved, but I'll give it an honorable place within the Shrine. Maybe you might want to paint a rock echoing the design of the tin? Send me a message and let me know, and I'll gladly have paint ready. We've gotten a good deal of rocks so far, but none from people who were at the talk about rocks, so if you'd like to be the first -- were you at the talk? -- that would be kind of you.

Caprice was playing with some other children today. The girl cried more than once when they touched her toys.
It seems that Caprice is not willing to share. She also tried to hit one boy when he refused to give her his own little wooden horse.
She was very demanding and whimsical. At some point, I believe it's my fault. I have been giving her too much attention, and I've never refused her desires before. Though, she has been spending very little time with other children...

However, I believe that the best cure from not growing a child as a spoiled narcissist is to have a large family. I should speak to my husband about that.

Rosalie RedTyde -My Niece
Helia Andrasko - My Daughter, no matter her name

My family has been making waves already in the city, and while it is a small family, gathered from the winds, I could not be more proud to call them mine.

The paperwork is finalized, the plan set in motion. Soon, my county will be reclaimed, and my title, if not the original, on the way there. Gods, it is finally happening, and I am filled with emotions I can scarcely describe.

Soon I will turn my focus toward the scholars as well, for I have neglected that for too long, I think.

Excess pride is especially wicked. So easy to diagnose in others--so difficult to see in oneself. I believe most of my actions today to have been justified, both in service of a greater good and in the way I conducted myself in that service. Yet I find myself stymied by what I believe to be pride on the part of those who should know better--who should be better. And I am accused of hubris.

I do have regrets. Perhaps there is where I should begin to look--to see whether the accusation lands true. Am I the one who is too proud?

Or do others place their anger above their duty?

Gods grant me strength to place Them above all, when I am in my own turn tested.

My dearest friend has had a daughter.

My heart swells. As did the amount of gifts in the basket sent.

I'll have to send him some Aeterna to make a cover for his clothing, lest he show up at the next consortium meeting with spit up. Like Victus shows up to meetings after holding Danse.

To everyone who has offered to help with the Home for Wayward Souls (the Tragedy) and the children who call it home, I thank you. I will be working through my missives tomorrow, because I can barely keep my head off the page right now.

I don't think we can see the bed. I may, perchance, have done a little excessive buying at mistress thornburns. Just a little excessive.

We can't see the bed.

There's Aeterna everywhere. Gauzy Aeterna, smooth Aeterna, brocaded Aeterna, see through aeterna, even Aeterna spun into the most -decadent- velvet that I have ever had the pleasure of touching. A nice day jacket to go with some of it and slippers. So many slippers.

Victus took one look and walked back out. I told him to take the claw of Arx with him. I'll not have her destroying costly dresses.

One is even the most delicious pin pleat dress. I need to have earrings made now to go with it. Big dawnstones I think. Maybe epiphanite. Set in Iridescite.

Daggers to match.

Yes.

Time to visit Dame Ida's...

Ach, dogs. If the Claw ever needs a place to retire, Highlord, I know of an excellent farm out in the Greens. Or, she can glare out her days from a silk cushion in the Saik Tower's gardens --

So I have a dog now. Her name is Matilda. She's a shaggy thing that I'm told is hunting-smart and has enough bite to take down a wolf. Half and half a good pep talk from a salesman and truth no doubt. But she is big, I give her that.

I sailed up river to a little farmstead to go pick her out. Family there was a nice, homely sort. Had a whole litter of big dogs, small dogs, just hounds everywhere. Could smell it from a mile away. I was browsing through one little pack of puppies when suddenly this big grey blur came running up to my side. She took a leap and we cracked our skulls together.

Don't remember anything from standing up to being in the dirt with a bunch of howling mutts around me. So I'm guessing she snuffed my lights out for a good couple of seconds there. When I came back up the farmer was apologizing like his damn life depended on it.

Told him I'd take that one. Now I've got a monster bruise on my head and a new dog that my cat doesn't seem to immediately despise.

So, anyone know how to train a hound?
