With great relief and gratitude for the health of all three babies and their mothers, I would like to welcome Prince Fergus Kristoph Redrain, Prince Valen Frey Redrain, and Princess Eirlys Valardin into the family. I have cousins of which I am already proud, these three will undoubtedly prove to be no exception.

May their mothers recover swiftly and well, and the nurses the chance to allow them to do so.

For putting on the recent Sword ceremony, I would like to most heartily thank my cousins Monique and Simone, who put in a lot of effort to see it turn out well - and that it did. Also, I was quite grateful for the support of all of my family and friends, present or not, for their confidence in me. Finally, I am grateful to those guests who came, whether I knew them or not, to bear witness to the occasion, as well as take part in the contests.

I am also very happy I didn't drop Dusk and impale my foot, which was my greatest worry of all.

Following in the footsteps of my two legendary cousins, Eirlys and Niamh, is an honor, and to do honor to their memories I will strive towards doing the utmost with which has been granted to me.

Hear a lot of talk about people drinking too much. Likely another contest. I'm a modest man and I never over indulge, but if I did, I might try to resolve my issues with some tea and fruit juice.

Whatever the rest of you may say, I still say that if he was so intent on me drinking that disgusting bottle of wine, he certainly shouldn't have minded when I helped him drink more. Yes, I threw it at his face, but it was the most expedient way possible.

Zeb, Zeb, Zeb, Zeb. You haven't changed a bit in the past eight years. Arx is in for some interesting times with you here. Just seeing you today chased away some moodiness and brought a smile to my lips. Don't go away anytime soon!

You're going to Stormwall with me. If you keep your mouth shut on the way up there, I promise your chances for survival will miraculously improve.

Yes, that was a joke, Scholar. No, I'm not putting in any indication that it was. Lord Kennex knows it's a joke, and the rest of them shouldn't be reading this anyway.

I’ve never actually kept a journal before. Usually back home, I’d be up to my ears in books and too busy for that. This is a first. So is being here in Arx!

I spent most of my life in Sanctum. Roaming stacks of books, feeling an itch for something more. That's what led to me leaving and coming here.

So what do I do within my first few days here? Found the Archives!

New things to cover and I couldn't resist. I must have spent at least a few hours trying to cram in as much reading as possible.

Back at it tomorrow.

Right now, it's time to go find someone I haven't seen in a really -- really -- long time.

Between being hit in the face with a wine bottle, thrown off of a horse several times and concussing myself on a fake boat I'm not sure I should be sailing out to Stormwall. I'm like to get killed.

The nobility here are fascinating. I met perhaps one or two nobles before I came to Arx. I've met well over a dozen since arriving here. And they are fascinating. Invariably kind to some degree. Perhaps a little, er, eccentric? But I can at least relate there.

Gentle Readers,

Some days start out quite calm, but end up far different by days end. Today was one of those. While I truly am grateful for Princess Alis coming to assist us with keeping Marian calm and settled, I must admit the outcome of it was quite unexpected. Yet we are happy and proud to have all children delivered safely and both mothers well. Our household may take some time to recover though.

Now I believe I need a drink.

Another meeting with a patron prospect! It was nice being understood for what I wish and also understanding what others want. There was no awkwardness to the interaction and a fish was produced as an aftermath of the meeting.

It's an utter joy to see my former proteges doing so well for themselves.

My heart is warmed through and I wish them nothing but continued success. In the spirit of continuing, this clearly means that I need to seek out others that are wishing for similar opportunities. Perhaps another champion. Perhaps another social adept. Perhaps an artisan. Perhaps a would-be courtier. Perhaps a lower-ranked member of the peerage.

So far, I have reached out to one that I need to schedule a sit-down meeting with, but I have been so busy that I have not even considered it yet! I have not forgotten you, prospective protege. I promise.

Relationship Note on Lucita

While many people find comfort in consistency, I find it to be my greatest enemy. I'd give anything for my life to stop being the same every day. Wherever I go, whatever I do, something goes wrong. And not in that teenager tantrum way, either. I mean, literally. I thought maybe by moving to Arx that things would change.

A nice morning catching up with an old friend, Baroness Lucita Igniseri. Everything was going well. There's no way it could go wrong, I thought. Until Lord Karadoc let me know that my reputation as a luckless knight preceded me here and then reminded me of my own past follies and horrible luck in front of the others.

Oh, but that isn't even the best part! I get upset and try to leave and somehow up-ended the table of drinks almost in Archlector Vayne's lap! Thankfully, Baroness Skye is as quick as she is!

And let's not forget the priceless vase I bumped into and destroyed in the Domus my first night here!

Or meeting the nice King's Own Dame Erela and falling on my face in the dirt after an hour of great conversation!

It.
Never.
Ends.

I never should have left Granato. And once I did, I never should have left the sea. It was safer for everyone with me out on the water.

Relationship Note on Jeffeth

I would add more lyrics to the song, Sir Bayweather, but today I asked a scholar how many journal entries I had done this week. He said he would have to check on that for me and asked for my name. When I told him he looked at me with a haunted gaze, eyes unfocused and lips quivering, and he whispered, "Enough. You have done... enough."

I took that as a sign that it may be time for me to stop journaling for a while, lest Archscholar Bianca pay me a visit to let me know that while it is important to know the thoughts of the public, not every ridiculous thought that runs through a person's head necessarily needs to be put to parchment.

Then again, I do need to post about finding Scholar Oswyn a date. Yes, Oswyn, write that down. We can talk about it later. This needs to be published immediately.

Two pregnant women. Three babies. One breech birth. The worst hangover of my life.

Both mamas safe and sound. All three babies happy and whole.

Thank the gods I had a capable assistant to conscript!

We didn't even drop any babies. I didn't even puke on anyone!

Permission to sleep for eternity now?
