It's funny how beautiful these nails are. I don't even feel the glue I had to use to put them on. They're ever so much nicer than those little lye-burnt nubbins I had had thanks to all that ash hauling I had to do. I wish they could be forever, but I suppose I have the advantage of flexibility, now.

My first impression of this woman, who I have come to learn is 'Prima' Shard, was that of a brutal warrior. She spoke of gruesome implements of war and hunting as if they were common day things. However, as we have continued to encounter each other she has oddly been kinder to me than people of Arx, I have encountered. Meaning no insult to the Prima, but I have glanced at her journals and have caught wind of people speak of her...

I apologize to any who may have been looking for me in recent times. After the expedition to High Hill, I chose to remain for an extended time, seeing to the health of the people there after their deeply traumatic experience. While I expect to be quite busy with matterns concerning High Hill in the future, I am reasonably certain I can attend to my other duties in Arx as well.

My youngest boy has told me since he was three years old that he would one day be a great knight, second only to the White Dragon of the West, who is the very best of men. You might call it childish nonsense, but I've met the High Lord of Sanctum more than once and he makes it a bit easier to believe that the dreams of children may not be such silly things after all.

Tutoring my brother when we can make the time. It's a slow process because of the lack of time, but progress is clearly being made. Cedar Vale prospers as never before, and I think we shall begin some more projects soon.
