It is important to know ones history. It is equally important to know political philosophy. Last, but certainly not least, one should make certain to understand human nature.

I sat on the rooftop of the shop, as I sometimes do when I need the fresh air and want to think. I often, even cheekily, remark on the irony that I can forge weapons and yet have no skill with which to use one. My fists always seemed to suffice and I would hate to have any sort of bias toward one type over another. I have been gifted with a dagger that I surely do not feel I deserve. I think it is meant as a reminder, of sorts, but a gentle one. Or maybe a regretful one. Or maybe being on the rooftop is making me kinda maudlin. Whatever the case, it's something I'll cherish.

Relationship Note on Luca

Dear boy, I was wroth with you.

I suppose that I shall not be any longer. You did have a way of making me smile even on my most pain riddled days.

You'll be delighted to know, that the scarf is out and being worn. Not because you're gone but because the weather demands it.

Duchess Fianna recently introduced me to a war horse named Bandit who has been entrusted to my care. In truth, he has already become a fast friend, as we have been ranging together throughout the Crovane estate and into the Gray Forest and the northern section of the Great Road. I took him on our first patrol recently, and his endurance in the rugged mountain terrain is unlike any horse I've ever known. We saw light action on the patrol as well, as the hostile Shav tribes in the area have been very active of late, but Bandit showed great bravery - a testament to my cousin's incredible skill in husbandry and the training of animals.

As fate would have it, I am in no danger of growing lazy for spending more time on horseback. Princess Reese has agreed to continue my training, and I have been meeting her each morning for "light" runs. I don't think it surprises anyone to hear of the incredible strength and endurance of the Knight of Ribbons; however, my admiration for her continually grows - not only because I grow so tired as to feel that I'm trudging through tar, and gasping for each breath, while Princess Reese continues to bound like an elk along a forest trail - but because she is also a magnanimous and inspiring teacher. I have been speaking with the Princess about the Siege of Silence for a poem, and have begun to learn about the path she took to become a legendary warrior and commander. She has become a bright beacon through fearless determination, and such a pursuit kindles similar flames in the hearts of her students. Beware, enemies of the Compact. My body is a weapon being tempered by fire and steel, wrought by the greatest war-smiths of Arvum: the Bladesong, the Sword of Whitehold, and the legendary warrior princess of House Grayson. When the time comes, I will not let them down.

I can't thank you enough for this opportunity to model, honestly. My nerves aside, I am quite excited.

I hope I do well for you and your house!

Relationship Note on Luca

It isn't the afternoons in the taproom that I spent with Prince Luca that springs to my mind when I think of the man. Not the first thoughts. Rather, I recall vividly the occasions of the afternoons instead that a justifiably, righteously irate princess Ophelia threatened to tell the Fox Prince to storm the Raconteur. I, of course, would wave my hand around at the copious amounts of alcohol, putting on a face of bravado that he'd get far too distracted before actually finding me. But deep down, we both knew the truth: Luca was a man of many things, but one undeniable element was the bonds of family, especially to his sister. I've no doubt if it came down to it, he'd have stormed the place and defended her honor just as she wished. Most likely with a mug of alcohol in his hand. And he'd have made it look far too easy in doing both things at once.

My head hurts.

I feel it is unfair you have ten years extra drinking experiences on mine.

When can we go camping? Tomorrow? I can even teach you to shoot our dinner. Trees and stars and no books! It'll be so much fun!

My offer still stands. You can start calling me the sensible Leary.

First, I want to thank everyone for still existing. It is highly unlikely that my extreme cross-referencing posed any existential threat, but one can never be certain. I'm glad we are all still here. Aren't you? (If you are not, please write to the master of questions with your answer.)

Recently the society of explorers restricted their library to people of higher rank than I am. I've been working on getting everything I know about the regions of the world organized in one place, and I used many references from the society shelves before that happened. It was rather alarming because I did not know if I had misused them. I spoke with the Pathfinder, and my notes are harmless.

I'm on a roll...

I challenge you to write a song about hammocks or tree houses.

Or get really crazy and do a song about both!

They are my most favoritest of things, right up there with water.

Bonus reward if you can put water in the song, too!

You can do it, Sweet Bard of the Apiaries.

I believe in you.

I'll be the judge.

How to handle mistakes...

Just my two cents.

Accept that you are not perfect and that someone is likely to be upset or angry or both.

Apologize, only if you mean it.

It's okay to be annoyed or angry with yourself over the error, but make amends.

Then? Move forward.

Mistakes happen. Life happens.

Gods blessings upon us all.

No walking dead now trouble the village of Eresport. Lady Rhiannon Ashford, Kaya the Wolverine, the warrior Lords of House Kennex, and I protected three whose spiritual power and connection to the unseen worlds returned the village to the dominion of the Queen of Endings. Sir Merek Black, Rukhnis Al-Katibi and Lady Olivia Ashford offered prayers and rites to the Queen, and brought an end to the onslaught of risen dead which had extended significantly beyond Eresport to the surrounding Abandoned tribes, and, perhaps, could soon have brought a horde of devouring corpses to the gates of Arx. My thanks to those who faced the risen dead on behalf of the Queen, and most especially to the Golden Ashford, Lady Olivia for her dauntless courage in the face of almost certain death.

I must also offer thanks to Selene Whisper and Sister Sophie, whose advice directly lead to breaking of the archfiend's power, and the renewal of the village, and to Princess Reese Grayson, who generously allowed me to conduct research in her personal library. My apologies for not being able to accept the incredible offer made by Lady Isabetta, the Princess, and Lady Teela. I thought I had already died and been granted entrance into Elysia before I smashed my head on the bookcase.

Apparently I've overheard some rumours that I've been napping at the Shrine of Petrichor.

This of course is pure nonsense. I am obviously praying and contemplating silently.
