There is none more worthy of this new position than the Marquis Kael Keaton. There has been no other I have seen who displays true honor so constantly. I know great things will come from this.
Marquessa Reigna Keaton has been a steadfast and capable public figure since I have known her, and a willing teacher. She seems always ready to lend a hand, and not only to those of her fealty, but outside of it as well.
Finally, something that makes sense! I would send a present to mark the occasion, but they would just find a way to turn it back on me so graciously and charitably that I wouldn't even be able to complain!

I don't understand the fuss about sparkling wine. I find the bubbles just get up your nose and it doesn't do anything to get you properly drunk.

I can attest that when I came to Arx and first began trying to acquaint my palate to wines, that Kael started with Laurent Mead sweetened with a further dollop of Laurent Honey. I now can appreciate the beverage on its own and rather enjoy it on nights I know the nurse can see to Talis. Also, I do, on occasion, enjoy an Oathlands whisky, usually with a dollop of Laurent Honey or lightened with some juice from Oathlands apples. In fact, Natalia Whisper and I rather enjoyed the mix of whisky and apple juice!
But back to mead: Laurent mead has been my favorite to date.

I was informed today that the mead of House Laurent was talked about in the journals! By an Archlector and one of the Softest Whispers! It warms my heart to hear that others think so fondly of it. Our meadmakers work very hard on our product and all of our ingredients are sourced from the duchy itself. With a few exceptions!
But really, I could write about the mead and honey all day long. Until I made a person cry! In fact, I think the scholar looks bored of it already. I'm so sorry.

Thank you, thank you to all of those who have given Keaton their support. Our successes are possible because of the support and community that we have. The Compact is a beautiful, living bond that links us all. As seen in the harder times, when the many come to help the few, or in the hardest of times when we all put aside our arguments and rise to face insurmountable odds with righteous defiance. Our voices might not always be in harmony, but when necessary, they are united.
