It is incredible to me how many peers think that law enforcement can be solved by throwing men at a troublesome district like soldiers until everything is dead. Those are the actions of a tyrant, not of a just leader.

Relationship note on: The Keatons
I was filled with so much joy at the Assembly of Peers today. Never, ever before have I felt such joy at one of these gatherings. Count Kael and Countess Reigna stood before us all, and with a LOUD AND RAUCOUS chorus of Ayes, the Keaton lands have advanced from a county to a March. Congratulations to Marquis Kael Keaton and his wife, Marquessa Reigna Keaton! I could not be happier! Not only for them, but for all of the Keatons! Your house is a hard working and devoted one, and I am proud to be not only an ally, but to able to count so many of you as my good friends as well.
I should be commended for not running up and hugging them both after it was official. I wanted to. I so wanted to.

It really happened! I could not be more proud of my husband. Marquis Kael Keaton. He has grown so much, come so far. Watching him standing before the King of the Compact, Duke Cristoph Laurent and attest to the growth of our lands was possibly the proudest moment of my life. That or hearing the chorus of ayes from our peers.
We have accomplished so much and we still have so much to do. It has been an honor to serve the vassals and villagers, the farmers and soliders, the merchants and scholars, all of our people. Keaton will continue to see to our people, to lead by example, to be righteous in our faith, and loyal to our lieges, vassals and allies. We do this not for ourselves, but for our children, for our people, for the Compact.

It's becoming too much of a pain in the ass to walk home in the middle of the night in the snow.
But I like my bed, gotten it just the way I like it in the barracks. Valarians's snoring a couple bunks down is kind of oddly comfortable. Like reminding me that everyone in the room is still alive.
That's good.

I am ever so excited to have the Tournament of Roses officially announced! Preparations will begin immediately, and I am positive it will be a major success. Of course, I would be a liar if I did not put to paper my nervous excitement. An event so large, it will surely be a challenge! And for any that read this who were interested in helping, I'll need a few more weeks before I have any ability to make use of volunteers.

Caspian Wild has chosen me to represent him in his Challenge against Bliss Whisper. Bliss has chose Sir Jeffeth Bayweather as her Champion for the duel. While all the details are not settled, I had the opportunity to watch a duel between Jeffeth and Aleksei Morgan. The undefeated Jeffeth is as impressive as folks say. He wields that hammer with skill and grace...not easy things to say about a maul. The duel will be a true test of my skills. Looking forward to it.
