Then I had an idea to make garrotes into lovely necklaces. One of which sold right away.
Clive?
Is it possible that people would rather have murderous jewelry over something pretty to wear?
The jewelry ideas are selling, though I'm gonna head back to make some soup. It's the right time of year for it. Something warm, filling. It's not as if I don't have the taters for it. That nice lad Everett brought a whole sack by the other day, then asked about hand pies and if I had any secrets.
It was a very nice conversation in the kitchen. Unlike the other one where the nob kept suggesting the Inquisition might want to have a chat. Just a moment away from the outside, in a warm kitchen, around the hearth discussing roasts of meats, rootie vegetables, and the foods that keep our bellies full.
Clive, did you know that in the Oathlands they sell their best and eat the left overs. If there is any? That seems counter productive. You've done all that work. You should be able to have something good from it, instead of what ever is left.
Alright. I'm heading back to the kitchen.
Yes. I'll let them know that you got tied up again.

First, you must master your horse. She must think as you think, and ride as you ride. It is not enough to place a harness and saddle on a mount. A man with a hammer and anvil is no smith by dint of equipment alone.
Then, you must master the lance. This will test your strength and endurance. The joust may seem a sport, but it tests the most important skills of combat on a horse: to ride hard; to strike true; and brace for impact.
Then, you must master the sword. This will test your bond with your horse. To bring the blade and avoid the blows, one must know more than simply pulling reins. It is a daring dance with a partner who will do more than step on a toe if they lose balance.
Finally, you must master the bow. This is the acme of horsemanship: you must ride without reins; you must aim without foundation; and you must fly without guidance.
Master these skills, and you will be unstoppable.

I've been harvesting the apples and pears from the courtyard as they come ripe. The children are nearly at an age where they might be able to eat them if cooked and mashed. We have plenty for me to test it - one of the guards groaned when I put a full basket of fruit on the table for them to eat from yesterday! I wonder if anyone makes applewood barrels? Apple wine or cider aged in applewood? Maybe someone will see this and reach out to tell me they do.
The quiet will be continuing, too, as I got word that the shipment from Saikland containing the newest spirit from the distillers has been delayed - meaning that the party I'd hoped to host for it is also delayed. This, perhaps, is a blessing. I can spend more time working with Butterpup on minding her puppy manners. I may need to seek help, there. She's perfect, as a sheep dog. But the children and I are not a flock to be herded. Though, that instinct may prove useful once they are moving around more on their own. Gods. I don't know if I'm ready for that.

Those who have accepted death and is peaceful is steadfast in heat and cold, pleasure and pain, honor and dishonor. Those who are content with their death is firm and poised, and will master their senses such that no deceit or attachment will cloud their judgment. Those who have found equanimity with friends, foes, lovers, and haters shall see that emotions are fleeting and histories are written only from the eyes of the victors.
So mark well never to compromise, even in the face of death, for it is the end but the beginning of new voyage.

Beautiful craftsmanship unlike any other, tailored specifically to what I required. Elegant yet decorative and impressive.
I am grateful for all the artisans of the city, such abundance, such talent, such joy.

Oh, to be a honey bee
Black and yellow, so fuzzy and free
To float from sweet petals, red, blues and green
Just to return home to make sweet honey
Oh, to be a honey bee
To work hard without praise, to serve their Queen
A life filled with purpose and need
One of many, they work together, a life filled without greed
Oh, to be a honey bee
Active in the spring and summer, asleep during the winter
Let the sweet bees work hard and do not bother them
Or else you will get stung by their sharp splinter
Oh, to be a honey bee
The most beautiful insect I must admit
And when it gets cold outside and they go to sleep
It starts to feel a bit more lonely in my garden at House Clement

I think it goes deeper. Much deeper. I believe people deserve freedom from all oppressive forces. You do not have to be bound by shackles and chains to be enslaved. What about the poor bloke that suffers from ignorance? I am not saying willful ignorance, but the ignorance of someone who through circumstance and birth has no access to learning and education. Does not this person deserve to be free of that unseen bondage? With knowledge, he can rise and become stronger and build something for himself. What of despair? There are those that are forlorn beyond belief. They too deserve to be free of that oppression. I could go on and on.

I have had relationships that were my balance, those emotional connections which felt as if I was strong enough to do anything. And I did. At those points in my life balance was important, it is what I needed and fulfilled something in me that I was lacking.
I welcome what comes next:
Chaos:
- complete disorder and confusion.
- behavior so unpredictable as to appear random, owing to great sensitivity to small changes in conditions.
