I need to speak to the keepers of the archives as it seems someone came in one night, drunk I assume by the shoddy hand writing, and wrote in my journals. I do not know exactly what this "brown nut ale" is, but by the name alone it sounds revolting. Give me a nice Leoncian chilled rose wine and good company any day for me.

Relationship Note on Orland
I had not known my wife had taken on Orland as a squire till recently. Good for her as I see this as a bond which can better the both of them. As long as he does not mention who suggested my wife should go on a long horseback ride over hills and in forests and such.

Relationship Note on Orick
Yes, I got distracted. I was supposed to be seeking a metal that would hold the heat for a longer period of time. In the process, I learned of how much pressure some metals can take, and what happens depending upon where their vents are placed.
I have taken up much of this time in figuring out which metal can hold the boiling pressure the longest before taking flight. The next step is to see if talking to the pots will make a difference in the direction that they go. Or if it will always be the same unknown variables. At least I've figured out how to make a hole or dent versus something that will bring the guard upon the house. However, in that venture. They have been well fed when they do show up. Though possibly bad for business.
The neighbors haven't been complaining much as of late.

I feel that with the upcoming spring, Donkey Knights needs a new mythical creature to capture. Naturally that means that a bout of Donkey Knights needs to happen for such a decision to have any purpose. What should that fantastical creature be? Something classic and expected? Or something entirely new?
This requires a great deal of consideration, of course. Maybe a ravenous unicorn? Or perhaps a majestic griffon? Possibly a terrifying checkered bonguddler? Possibly one of those darling spritely dragons that delivers babies to we humans? There are many options and all of them warrant a fair weighing.
Maybe this year I'll host the party leading up to the bout itself and finally trust the unfamiliar with maintaining their composure.
All that I know regarding the subject is I wish for this winter to fade, while fun and warmth make a resurgence. I feel that's need right now. Perhaps the celebration deserves to a little larger this year because it's so dearly needed.

I admit that I was hesitant at first when I received a letter from Marquis Cirroch Sanna indicating he would be interested to meet and discuss the possibility of becoming my protege. I was hesitant because I had never before considered taking a fellow Peer for a protege. There is no good reason for this, of course. It is every bit as worthy, and as beneficial, to act as a patron to a fellow Peer.
It was part of the reason why I ultimately decided to become Marquis Sanna's patron. I sincerely believe that this partnership will prove to be of mutual good to us, and our Houses.

I have firmed up plans to obtain one of the new ships when we perfect them I expect that it may prove of value to the Faith in many ways, not the least of which is having the ability to convey our agents to distant locations in a timely manner.
I have also spoken with His Holiness on matters of the vacant Archscholar post and conveyed my willingness to help with whatever assistance I can provide. It is likely not much of the extra load He has to carry right now, but hopefully I will be more of a help than a hindrance. I will still have time to pursue my projects.
I have so much to learn and so little time. Plus I need to strengthen myself physically for the rigors of trail and conflict. But I am making headway and I will persevere until I reach the goals that need reaching. Or until I am stopped from reaching them. Lord Vellichor will guide me when I am worthy.

Thoughts of ... being admired for... physical looks?
At first, I thought the person who invited me for a conversation was joking, when they told me that upon looking at me the first time they saw me, they thought of some ... indecent scenarios of me later and were clearly intending to make it a reality upon our meeting. Of course, I thought they were pulling my leg. It was... humbling I guess? I still feel oddly weird about the entire thing. Does this happen frequently to others?
Oh I know Savio thinks I'm very attractive, but we first grew fond of each other for the company and personalities of one another far before looks became a thing. I know I wasn't immediately attracted to Savio... if I was being truthful.
What was really disorienting was the fact that this physical allure was the first reason they wished to speak with me and not because they knew anything at all about me otherwise. I guess, my suggestion would be, if you wish to merely have sex with someone, being straight forward can work. I've done it. Though you should at least anticipate being rebuffed if you know nothing of them, especially if they are already in a well known relationship. But if you want love, a deeper connection? Maybe find out a little about who you're trying to attract first... it'll save the embarrassment later.
To note, yes I'm in a committed relationship. No, I will not be tempted by whatever physical attribute you own or possess. Some men actually do have standards and a brain that can resist.

I have been very busy with my shop and things have been selling well for the most part. I even earned a few private commissions much to my pleasant surprise. I also crafted a sculpture in support of Lord Orland Amadeo's upcoming event in support of Healer's of the Compact. He wrote all too kindly about my entry. With spring on the horizon I am eager to start a new creative project but I am still searching for inspiration.

Apart from moral conduct, all that a warrior thinks themselves able to do in order to become honored is mere superstition and supposition. Once a warrior believes in a service which is not purely moral, but is supposed to be agreeable to others or popular, they have lost their sight and are as useful as a blind archer. Once a warrior believes that they can justify their actions by acts of pleading or worship, they will always be found where the essence is sought not in principles of morality, but in mere commands and unthinking obedience.
And while this may be an acceptable trait for a dog, it is not for a general.
