I had my new assistant, Thorlek, cleaning out some of the storage rooms in the back of Sew Civilized. He found what amounted to many boxes of glass. So much glass.
Did Balakay order this? Did I ask him to? I honestly don't remember.
I guess I'm going to have to figure out what to do with all this glass. Maybe it'll inspire me. Or maybe I'll just have Thorlek hide it in the back of the storage room.
Come to think of it, maybe I asked Balakay to do the same thing, some time ago. Hmm.

I had the pleasure of attending Medeia's primer on Healing Herbs. She did amazing, I actually learned something, about sage actually. And was able to catch up with my cousin's wife. Which was nice as well. I've enjoyed seeing my family, married into or not.

The banns this past week were full of mourning with the losses taken by the Moores, Magnottas and Whitehawks. There was also celebration with Seliki, Magnotta and Wyrmguards with births. May the Queen of Beginnings and Endings be remembered.
Disturbing news too came to the city regarding the little town of Acorn Hill and a besieged night of terror. The enemy that attacked left a gruesome scene behind it, with a message and warning against meddling. I know not what enemies that attacked the Moores, but I do think a strong response is needed so these threats don’t break out into something that pulls the Compact’s attentions. Perhaps a good idea is to fortify the town with a strong keep and walls on the namesake hill. I’m pledging support with a thousand military resources to be sent to the Moore’s. Supporting our allies and helping them be able to defend themselves means we can focus more on greater war threats. It’s the right thing to do.
I’m looking to have a small expedition back to the Caldera, to visit a certain people, to pay respects to old ways and beliefs, to explore a lake and the Wader that rests there. I hope that it won’t just be a trip for me to learn more about ancient ways, but also to open up Caldera culture with our allies and friends.

The final few parts of the trip down to Lenosia are in motion with my caravel, the Heart of Wander, about ready to go. With fair winds, the trip itself will not take too long giving me the most of that fair week in the Archives.

My first attempted to bring commanders across the compact together to socialize and start to communicate, to look to the day in the rapidly approaching future where we all might be in the same organized force one day had mixed success. The sentiment I am told was noble and true, but there are great divides where trust between some of the great houses is little, if nonexistent. Still it was not a waste of a night and I feel if we continue to have such events, then trust cannot help but grow. If we can work a way to at least begrudging respect, then I see it as a victory in itself.
