I am pleased as punch that Princess Sabella has chosen to return to her work as Voice of House Grayson. I'm sure that she and Liara will be the most splendid and glamorous team the House can have. Truly, our best foot is put forward.

Amir has returned to Arx.
The house was growing incredibly quiet without other members of the family to have around. Seeing him come home has made me smile. Now our Sword resides in Arx, and I have further dinner companions. I'm sure that with him here we'll make further progress on making Melaeris a name that's known, not one that's been forgotten.

I've been restless the past few evenings. Getting up, slipping on my robe and peace-tied dagger then roaming the halls to check on those I care for. Looking down at their sleeping faces just to assure myself that everything is fine.
Nia fights even in her sleep. That little nose scrunched up and her fingers in fists. A gentle hand through her hair calms the savage dreams so at least my nighttime wandering has some use.
Fergus and Valen never seen to sleep in separate beds. One always migrates to the other. They sleep in opposite directions so it's a wonder that either boy doesn't end up kicked in the face.
Sometimes I bump into another evening wanderer in the halls. I've been teased about arming myself even within the villa walls. Tragedy of Sanctum taught me the folly of assumptions. I'll never take for granted that my family is safe because there are guards stationed at the entrances. They are far too precious to make that devastating mistake.

Prince Alecstazi fought well but in the end I was victorious.
I was not so fortunate against the next Challenger, Harlex, Sword of Lenosa. His skills have not been over estimated. I can take pride in myself for the good showing but in the end I was not able to best his superior skill. I was honored to give the Trident into his hands.

Relationship Note on Mikani
I am often lax in writing White Journals, as scholars see fit to hint at me every so often.
That said, I would be profoundly remiss in not marking the occasion of the Shamanic ceremony that completed the wedding between Lord Rysen and Lady Mikani Crovane. Princess Drea Redrain administered the ceremony with eloquence and grace. Lady Mikani and Lord Rysen's words also stirred the very soul. I am uncertain as to how I can describe it further. It was extremely unlike anything I have seen in a traditional noble wedding, and yet, it was as awe-inspiring in its way as any of the grandest ones that I have been blessed enough to attend.
Lady Mikani Crovane is my oldest friend. As I remarked to a fellow guest that night, the only person that I have known for longer is my own twin. I do not relish the idea of speaking emotionally in so public a venue as this, so I will be brief. I would question if Lord Rysen realizes just how lucky he is, to have wedded Lady Mikani, but truth be told, I'm quite sure he already knows.

What a week, to say the least. I've made a new friend, a most fantastic person whom I will share many laughs and adventures with - I can tell already.
I found Archlector Brigida's staff and I'm chuffed she got it back. Makes for a good story, that! Lovely lady, reminds me a bit of my neighbor when I grew up, she always yelled at us to stop being so noisy or stop stealing the apples from her tree (the branches were hanging into OUR yard!), but she was also protecting us by being the one person on the street who knew what everyone was doing all the time. The Inquisition and the Iron Guard used to come around and ask HER as soon as anything happened, I believe.
Anyway! This has all resulted in something even better; Death's Crown to be crafted by Guildmaster Josephine Arcuri herself. I'm as excited as a five year old promised all the candy he can eat and Josephine's ideas make me quite happy.
The spa day at the Grotto was brilliant. I'm still feeling two inches taller from the massage.

For your birthday this year, I suspect you will receive a great many questions about other people's business, some paperwork you really don't actually want to fill out, a fragment of a truly harrowing mystery you wish you could forget, and at least one caller who is only visiting you so that they can scritch Sally's head.
I sincerely hope that you manage to find at least an hour for yourself somewhere in there. After all, you're getting close to 40, and you'll only get to be Laric for _one_ lifetime.

I was asked today whether or not costumes are mandatory for attendance to the Storybook Soiree. They are not. Anyone at all may attend! No costume necessary, just encouraged.
However, one may only win the platinum prize book if one arrives in costume, having voted for their favorite story from the Literary Competition beforehand.

I am so INCREDIBLY excited for the Storybook Soiree coming up! I'm finalizing the last details of my costume now and while I will certainly post about it after the fact I don't want to spoil the surprise so I will just say that Mistress Petal did an amazing job with my gown and I absolutely cannot wait for everyone to see it! I've had quite some fun designing each and every aspect and seeing it come to life and be so breathtaking, well, it makes me think that tailors must be very content with their life's work! It's so thrilling when everything falls into place exactly.

Preparations for the Harvest Festival have begun on Blackshore Isle. This year we're also going to celebrate the crafters by having each one decorate the booth for the farmer that they've been paired with. Visitors will be able to purchase both so it's beneficial for everyone involved.
I'm also pleased that several of our families on the Isle have new additions. We've started a program to assist these families after the birth so they can spend time with their family before going back to work. At the Festival, additional accommodations will be given to make sure these families have adequate facilities.
Another year...I still marvel at how many changes can occur in that period of time. I am grateful to the Gods for the bounty we are given. The opening ceremony of the Festival will include a prayer, so we can give thanks. Even at my darkest moments, it's been the kind dedication of the Faith that has gotten me through. I try to honor that every day.
