We did bend the knee to the Compact. I did what I thought was best for my people. But I still have some feelings for my fellows who have not done so yet. Receiving a choice of 'Submit or Die' is never an enjoyable choice to receive. The fact that so many seem perfectly accepting of that fact is something that concerns me.

I was informed yesterday that I am meant to dance with my husband at our celebration this week.

I would've honestly thought the Compact would look on a literal event I set up to poison a whole bunch of nobles with more skepticism but, you know, all's well that end's well. No one died. Could've. Didn't.

Well, note to self: Do not try a practical joke on one's mistress when she's traveling...
The lack of things to do is making her somewhat grouchy.
I tried to cook breakfast for her the other day and she threw it at me. Something about the smell... I guess I used too many spices.
I tried to engage her in some stories... she threw a rock at me. Something about it being too dull and then she ranted about her lack of adventure...
I miss my Lady's sweet temper and good humor...
Maybe she woke up on the wrong side of the river...

Once again a long parting is ended with a sweet reunion. Lady Catalana returns to Arx and I am forced to admit it is the greatest city in all Arvum, as long as she is there. For those who have not yet met her, I envy you that first glorious encounter. Would that I had no memory of her so that I could be struck by her beauty for a second time. Oh you lucky scoundrels to have that privilege to anticipate.

I don't think that relaxing has to mean doing nothing, floofykins. I think it means doing things you're not doing. Relaxing in hammocks, reading books that have no point beyond entertainment, walking old streets and new, enjoying good food. Getting a little lost, but not totally lost.

Relationship Note on Tikva
At first I was going to write this from a place of hurt and anger. To defend myself. I have gotten good at defending myself. That those who questioned my motives of my betrothal or cheered those that questioned my motives were those that knew me. Knew my story. I took it personally that they questioned my integrity that yes there was love in my bethrothal but there was also benefit to the people of Byrne, Crovane and the Compact as a whole. Those that know my personal story know I don't act on passion alone. I was hurt. I was going to write this from that place and that mindset.
Yet I paused. I reflected.
Spending two days at the alter of Limerance and then some time at the alter of The Sentinel to think about my future. To think about the steps I was about to take. The oaths I was to make. It was then the white journal of Princess Tikva was made available. This isn't exactly what she said - yet the message conveyed was - Let your actions be your words.
This is how I have lived my life since becoming a noble. My actions have been my words and they have spoken loudly. My actions will continue to speak loudly as I live and breathe on this world. This is my motto now. Let my actions be my words. I certainly plan on talking and talking a lot.
I am in your debt Princess Tikva. Great peace has been granted. I hope my actions speak to my worth of that peace. Thank you.
