I'm coming around to being more responsible, scholar. It's true! I know you're giving me that look..But it's true! I'm you know, making lists of what needs to be done(I'm working on getting them done, I swear. One step at a time, Kay!), writing to people. Doing all the things. I should be anyway. I'm not perfect I know, but still..
Also, I sat and had a really really long conversation with Sister Sophie. We spoke about EVERYTHING! She was so patient with me about answering my questions. We spoke about Lagoma and how she was. Or is. I'll get that right, I swear. It was just a nice conversation. I'm trying to make it a point to learn about all the shrine and all the Gods. I think I'm making progress in my learning!

I had tea with Marquessa Lianne Malespero the other day. We had some business to discuss and she provided me with a sample of one of her favourite teas. It was quite delicious, I am happy to report.
Alas, I did not get the name of the tea, so I might have difficulty getting more of it.

Though I am no noble, I believe I would like to take on a protégé some time in the future. I feel I have a lot to teach and someone might benefit from that guidance. Though I know that talented commoners are so in demand!

The ball turned out to actually be a lot of fun, and it was good to be able to see everybody again. Like with all things in life, it really depends on the company you keep. On that note, Deva inspired an excellent new idea for my work which I am excited to explore.

I am grateful to those who have visited me while I recover from the attempt made upon my life. I am just as grateful to those who have written to express their regards. I am most grateful of all to those who have visited or written to affirm their desire to see the one who harmed me drawn and quartered. Those are dear friends and lovers indeed.

What a delight of an evening thanks to my wife's hosting. The Ball of Hawks was quite the busy affair and the cask of wine I had brought down was not able to persuade people away from Thea's citrus vodka.
Utter delight it was to dance though with both dear Kaia and the fair Princess Natasha. We three encouraging others upon the dance floor soon after including, what I believe I spied, was a little romance brewing.

The journey of marriage can be like a maze. A complicated and miserable one if you don't have the right partner alongside you to help navigate the many twists, turns, and dead ends that you'll face together. I don't think that I could have asked for a better wife than Nicia when we married. Intelligent, sharp like a razor and prepared to use that in her support of myself and our House. She was a partner and a friend. I'm going to miss more things about her than I can possibly ever name. And I don't know how I'm going to go about raising our children without her there, the only person to know them as well as I know them. To love them as I love them. It hurts to even think about.

Arx is such a loud place I don't know how anybody can hear themselves think! There are so many people I don't think it will even be possible to know everybody, or who I can trust.
It's so much easier in the forest, where I know where I stand and where I fit among it. I'm still trying to find my place here, where I truly belong.
I'm grateful for Leporidae, for their welcoming me with open arms. I truly feel like one of the family, like this is truly my home away from home, where I know someday I'll know Tremorus like I know Brindleberry. I am different from the rest of them, it's as unlikely a match as any but as strange as it all is, I truly do belong here.

I have been a smith for a long time, and mostly went about my work as anyone might; my mother once said that if your job is something you truly love, you will never work a day in your life. I love smithing. Only over the past couple of years, though, have I sought to work harder than I ever have at it. To learn more, to try new things, and to forge in a way that might be memorable. Maybe old dogs can learn new tricks, after all.

Ball of Hawks was this evening, scholar. It was busy. I don't think Malvici Hall has been that busy in well---It's been awhile. It was a nice distraction from work and a few other responsibilities. Needless to say, it was success. And no poison was to be found. It was tested. I swear!

The journey from Greenhaven took a lot longer than I remember from my previous visit to the city. Perhaps the trip felt different because my arm is now in a sling and can feel a bit achy after hours traveling on horseback. Either way, I've arrived in Arx and look forward to some rest.
I've several people I need to see, but I will certainly make the hospital a priority if my arm doesn't stop aching by midday. A second opinion from a physician on duty might be in order.

The Ball of the Hawks turned out to be a spectacular success! I was amazed at how many graced us with their presence. So many lovely princes and princesses, lord and ladies, as well as notable commoners! They all seemed to have enjoyed themselves throughout the evening. The Citrus Vodka and Spiced Red were quite popular; and, by the end of it all there was no food left! Thankfully, there were no stolen platter nor poison incidents! I'm so glad.

The fist fights of the people's tourney was amazing to watch and even more fun to be a part of. Congrats to Savio, a most amazing win by the bard. taunting everyone with a song and then claiming that he would be swallowing teeth. And instead, the man won. Well done.

This week has been full of illumination and breakthroughs, and I am certain that none of them would have been possible at all had you not blessed me with not just the tenacity required to seek answers to know, but also the mind and demeanor to ask the right questions so as to better understand a person or circumstance, and the wisdom and will to differentiate between the two and recognize their equivalent importance.
Is that why I now have two would-be proteges, both of whom have sought me out specifically without any solicitation on my part? Is it your will that I try my hand at educating, guiding and sponsoring, instead of being the perennial student I have always been?
Both are incredibly remarkable women, the kind that I could learn from instead of the other way around. I do not know what I could possibly do for them when I am so untried, still.
I am worried that I will somehow fail them.
But if this is your will, then let it be done.
